This game heavily tests you on your map knowledge, aim, understanding of sound cues, etc. when I first started in burnt horizon I was in the exact same spot as you but what made me a better player and just enjoy the game more is playing and learning the game with friends, even if those friends are better than you it’s great to have people who can help teach you and mentor you on how to actually improve. R6 is definitely a frustrating game but when you're winning and making good plays it just feels sooo good. I've been on and off for years and it hasn't been till recently that I've started getting better at gunfights, being a mainly supportive player, but now that I have a chance at winning a gunfight I don't feel hopeless when it comes up on me to clutch up the match
I play a lot of first person shooters but idk if there is a more satisfying feeling in any game I’ve played wall banging a guy off audio alone. (In game)

I’ve been playing for a couple months and I’m probably at 400 hours now. One time I was attacking top floor consulate and I stopped outside by the wooden door that leads to the basement, but I wasn’t in view of it. I hopped on a pre placed drone to check a spawn peak, and an oryx walked right out of this door and killed me. Turns out he broke the door down and waited there at the start of the round, and I just don’t know how I was supposed to expect this absurd play. Bro ran all the way into the basement as far away from the bomb site as possible and caught me while I was on a drone safe from every spawn peak.

Glad to have you on the R6 journey! Can definitely be a frustrating and toxic game. But you nailed it at 10:33. Sometimes a team needs everyone fragging and some days your shots are off so you should play support characters. People think just because someone has a low K/D that they threw but I’m 1.5 E1 and smart plays are greater than frags on a losing round. Keep it up duderino!!!
I started playing Siege at release and by no means am I anywhere near fully understanding the game especially since I didn’t play for like 3+ years in the middle. But it’s awesome to see this because it reminds me of starting myself. Although it was diff back then bc everyone was new and I kinda hit the learning curve relatively quickly by figuring out the maps to an extent (stairway locations are step 1) there was definitely frustration lol. Great vid and I’d be happy to help you learn some tips if you want. I know nothing is more satisfying than learning something on your own, but just throwing it out there. Def will subscribe to share in the journey 👍
Great video, this is fun for me to watch. You are a fantastic creator and earned my sub! I played R6 from launch through the first 4 years, and recently started playing again. The thing about Siege, it absolutely forces you to do things correctly if you want to get even remotely decent. It forces you to understand and master room clearing, cover vs concealment, using cover/rounding corners, peakers advantage, and most importantly game sense with the time remaining in the round, and both where defenders location and what the playing field looks like. You need discipline and patience to play and really enjoy Siege, if you try to play it like COD you will never get out of copper. Watch every kill cam and learn from what they did and what you could've done.
This game is the definition of trust the process. Learn from every kill (what you did right) and every death (what you did wrong). The more you play and learn you will naturally get better and your win loss ratio /KD should also naturally improve over time. The best feeling in this game is when you win your first clutch or get your first ace that is a feeling you will never forget. Keep at it and i hope you continue to have a great time.
I’m a youtuber who main R6 as well and I can tell you it’s so frustrating. When the trailer of R6 came out, I was a kid at the age of 15, who looks to play a realistic gun game, and this game comes out, but until I graduated from secondary school then I started play the game in 2018, but before that I already watched some UA-camrs playing this game. It’s totally different when watching UA-camrs play and myself, positioning, aiming, timing, peeking, map knowledge and many other stuffs, and until this moment I’m commenting, I just felt frustrated by losing two ranked games and closed the game. I’m already a Platinum player but still always felt frustrated to die, sometimes by your teammates stupid mistakes, sometimes you dumb position and positioning, or sometimes just the wrong place at the wrong time. However, this game is super addictive that when you have luck and skill at the same time, getting kills makes you feel so good that other FPS game never can offer, R6 would be my ever favourite FPS game till I die. Good luck to your game as well, if you need a friend you’re welcome to find me.
I remember getting this game back in 2019, and I thought learning the operators was hard in year 4, can’t imagine learning the 71 operators in year 9, fair play
Ya bro fr I remember playing on launch and being a noob with all the other noobs. Siege was so simple back in year one. Everyone played like a bot. Just learning in year 9 though seems awful
I really miss playing with people like you . I think the way you progressed in the game matches all the aspects i tried recently in this game . Hope you get well at siege 😊
I have over 4k hours on this game and it was awesome to see you slowly understand the game more and more. really reminds me of my first week of the game. tip with your drones: have your drone near to where you're gonna push from and as you're about to push check your drone to see if anyone's there and once you push in drone further ((:
Learning this game can be very scary and difficult.. but when you DO learn, it makes for some of the most satisfying plays and moments I’ve ever experienced in gaming
I can relate! I’m sitting on 30ish hours myself, I’ll go from 1 game going 11-3 and getting 2 clutches to win the round, to next game going 0-7 and not understanding how I’m just that bad. The best thing I have found so far in helping me to progress, is spending time to learn the maps, and bomb sites, and learn what the operator abilities are. Whilst that sounds like a lot, I would just take half an hour to learn 1, maybe 2 maps in an evening, then play some games and hope I get my maps, and continue this process. I know about 13 maps atm, but couldn’t tell you how to play them or really remember the call-outs. Good luck on your journey
Tip: use the map training and shooting range to warm up map knowledge and aim before matches. Map training is REALLY good for map knowledge. It’s how i learned the newer maps after coming back and will absolutely help with room names and locations. Shooting range is basically aimlabs built into the game. The 3rd room is really good to improve aim
It really takes a lot of determination to start playing r6 alone and try to learn it from scratch, it's a lot easier if you have a friend to help you get into the game. That said, I did the same thing you did back in 2016, it wasn't as hard as it was with you because everyone was pretty much new to the game and there wasn't so much dept to the strategies people normally do, in the end it payed off and I helped my friends start playing the game
Love , the video man had me laughing really hard and it was just really enjoyable overall, When tagging someone on a camera, click up on the direction pad to tag them instead of actually scanning them so the enemy doesn't know you're scanning them it'll keep them from destroying the camera while still giving your team information the entire time and it's faster. I hope to keep seeing your content 🎉
I’ve just started playing again after about 2-3 year gap and I’m also on. Mouse and keyboard now instead of controller it’s been hard for me so props to you for sticking with it you’ll absolutely love it when you start getting 1v4 clutches and stuff
So I decided to re-open the game and got into gold 1 (kinda dropped down to gold 3 rn) but if I had to give you some tips, it would be: R6 is just as much memorizing specific operators, what their abilities are, different types of areas where enemies push, and finally: There will be bad days, and good days. One time I went 12-5 or something, but then the next day I went like 4-7. Be confident. If you get nervous, hop into a quick match and just rush. Play like you can easily beat every single opponent, and you’ll get more kills.
One thing that helped me when I first started playing was just playing support operators and trying to defend objective, that way if I died my utility could still help the team, and by holding objective you start to learn where the default plants are, where people like to push and what not, that way even if you don’t necessarily know the map, you at least know objective.
The mentality i think is best for the game is “with each death I get better.” That’s one more angle you know to check. One more strategy you learn to do. One more thing to communicate to teammates. Its like dark souls in that respect.
I started 2-3 months ago max and I’m having A blast learning the game and meeting people to make a a five stack to face ranked. I hope your having fun as well :)
After you play for a while and understand the game, there are still just frustrating things that happen if you get tunnel visioned on making a play or defending a certain spot. Part of this is simply the solo queue experience and can really be alleviated with a full squad. But there is just a lot of intel gathering you have to do if you don’t want to end up with a frustrating death, and even then someone might hit a lucky headshot. One of the worst things for me is when I get focused on pushing the bomb site and clearing a room, then I find out the guy with the bomb died on the other side of the map while I wasn’t paying attention, and the enemy is just camping it.
I’ve played this game since beta. Here are my thoughts on this video: When you called Kapkan thatcher I laughed audibly XD There is indeed a serious bell curve for learning this game and a lot of it is map knowledge and unique operator gadgets. A simplistic part of this game that makes it easier to grasp than Valorant is that operators or agents have only 1 unique ability as opposed to 4. A very cool detail you overlooked is how operators have their own unique weapon pool as opposed to one large arsenal that everyone can pick from. Finally, it is my belief that the frustration stems from every round having a sense of importance, and dying prevents you from keeping your impact in it, where games are scored much shorter, every round is important. The long prep and action phases adds to the overall importance of staying alive, as sitting out for three minutes because you died 10 seconds into the round sucks. Great video! I’m actually teaching my friend that just picked up the game too, today will be his third day playing siege and he is having quite some fun!
Best thing you can do is what you did in chapter 2 when dying to the aruni on the kids rotate - you said to yourself what you (possibly; without really having the knowledge) could have done better in that situation
I kinda had this experience to an extent. I was a near day 1 player (dec 2015), but stopped playing after velvet shell. Only got back into it in y6. Had no idea what all the new stuff was.
definitely the most relatable video on R6 i’ve watched so far. just started playing about a week ago and only have about 15 hrs in the game. 100% in the addicted stage of learning lol
i played it a little like 2-3 years but i gave up, i started fully playing this game last year and im just decent at it. the game really gets frustrating at times and it makes me wanna quit and delete it 💀 it’s fun to learn but its a hassle, great video man
bro i did the exact same thing as you and now with like 250ish hours the frustration is still there!!! just keep grinding and learning everyone gets it eventually 😅
If you wanna main caveira ,you should use pistol more to down em and then interrogate them to reveal enemy team locations to you and your team . And also if you wanna play ranked mode in future ,then jackal might not be good operatior to learn ,because its like 80% time banned there . But yeah frustration is part of this game 😂 i only play ranked and there especially I get angry very often when whole evening is going up and down same rank . I usually take break if I get too angry since I can't focus then properly.
I’ve played this game since the third/ second year and watching this not only brought me back but made me laugh with all the rookie mistakes I use to make
I’m happy to hear people are still trying out this game. I was hooked when I saw the trailer in E3. I played the demo and I got it pretty much at launch. About 1200 hours later I still love the game. I took a break for about 2 years and I’m just now coming back. There is nothing like it. There is no other fps game I’ve ever played where I can get a thrill quite like siege. The tension also is so intense. 3 seconds can absolutely feel like an eternity. lol.
bro i have like 4000 hours on this game and i'm still learning new things every time i play. 💀i started playing at the end of the first year, so at least back then nobody knew what they were doing. this game is unlike any other game i've played, and it's probably why i keep coming back even when i tell myself i hate it so much. to this day, i am surprised to see new players like you picking up the game for the first time. i often question that kind of decision.. but uh, no. the anger and frustration never goes away, even when you know the game like the back of your hand and know every single mistake.
Yes, the frustration doesn’t go away. I’m a Champion player, so trust me cause you are aware of what’s happening and you get more kills and it feels really good❤ Keep up the good work you’re my favourite UA-camr❤
I used to suck at attack too but once you view it like a minigame its much easier. Look at the operators they have, identify what they’re likely to do, like a cav is going to roam 100%, mira will anchor, bandit will probably trick the main breach, etc. check what angles are reinforced and where they’re not expecting a push and go there. Once you learn the common rat spots you can drone them out no problem. Siege is just a game that requires a lot of time to learn
R6 has a very steep learning curve I took a 2-3 year break and I'm having to relearn everything, sucks I can't play consistently like I use to, was plat 2 on Xbox before they added diamond rank , but upgrade to a PC right before I took a break from the game, glad to see the community is just as toxic(from my experience) as it was back when I played on Xbox 😂
I took a 2 year break and now the meta is completely different, new ranking system, new ops and new strats, with two maps. I last played when diamond 2-3 and champ was added, yr 7 s2. For some reason the old tips I remember with plant strategies just aren’t played much anymore as it’s a kill meta at the moment..? What..??!
some things i would recommend is leaning which is a huge advantage, when you see an enemy on the cameras use your yellowing pings to mark them so they don’t know there being spotted.
5:51 i can already tell we play kapkan VERY, very differently. i like to conserve my traps and listen for the explosion so i know where enemies are and that they lost half their health
I recently got back into the game after like 5 years, and it’s been a ton of fun and also a headache to learn everything about the game again. You should definitely try to play with a few different operators, especially for ranked later on, because Jackal gets banned immediately 😂
I did play r6 from Y1S3 to Y4S2 and reached 2x diamond. I have started playing now again and the first 10 hours were also a struggle for me. Starting completely from the scratch must be so hard. Most of my friends are not willing to do this.great Video.
Having gotten the game a couple weeks ago after putting it off for so long, I identify strongly with the apprehension of getting into the game and struggles of learning it.
Ive played since The first DLC, on all platforms for about 1.5khrs, the anger definitely gets better, as you improve you take the game less seriously, and I've learned to just enjoy playing around with different operators and play styles. Just have fun with the game, save your renown for big alpha pack openings lol and don't spend too much more money on micro transactions, with all my hrs I regret buying so much when I was younger. The company is even greedier than ever, but the gameplay is fun as hell. Community on the other hand is another story
The coolest thing about siege is that no matter how good your gun skill and shooter experience may be, it won’t make you good at siege, there’s so many things you have to grasp and figure out, you can have been playing the game for 8 years and still learn new stuff every time you launch up the game to play
I was in the same spot as you when I started. The frustration does go away eventually. The game involves series of things such as sound cues, angles, aim and most importantly imo map knowledge now it’s okay to not know where your going before you try ranked but I think once you try ranked you’ll need to know the maps and callouts to help your team which will help you rank up but I think the reason your frustrated is because your overwhelmed with everything you have to learn
5.6k hours here....been around since Dec 2nd, 2017 and it's been rough, but like you said, something about this game just kept me on R6 consistently. To me, it got to a point where learning new maps/reworks became easier, knowing every basic thing to know became second nature. Granted you will ALWAYS make rookie mistakes and think you should've done something different. Don't dwell on the negative emotions of the game, just vibe, meet good people, ignore toxicity, and you'll have a much better time in the long run. You'll hear COD nerds tell you it's about KD but really it just depends on your role for the team as a whole. This is a Team. Based. Game. If someone offers to 1v1, it's not a true test of overall competitive skill in a game like R6. As you might be well aware, cod is an arcade shooter, and R6 is a tactical shooter. Also PICK UP YOUR GODDAMN ROOK ARMOR
I certainly think it depends. I came back a month ago, after the last time playing being year 3 (6+ years ago). I played “like a copper” for the first 2 days before quickly getting my game sense now, and after a month now, I’m very close to my prime back then (ranked 1.0 Plat 2). The top three things I’d say contribute the most to being a good R6 player: 1) Teamwork/communication: This is the most important as you can win a singular round on your own, but it takes a team to win the game. Giving good, concise call-outs, and if you don’t know, then be quiet. Also playing ops that help the team rather than playing for yourself (I myself am an Ash main, but will only play her if everyone else already got the team playing ops, and I can still use ash to help the team on a specific map/location). 2. Good game sense/awareness. This can be learnt, but also can come from one’s natural ability. I myself have a good game sense and awareness, which has naturally made me great at fps games specifically (call of duty, R6, Star Wars battlefront), it has even helped with driving games, knowing when to turn and take the right corners without even learning much. Good headphones will help with awareness, and learning common angles and spots for traps. Not rushing, and giving yourself time to collect intel (droning) before making an aggressive push to take control of a room/area. 3. Gunfights/aim Being good at gunfights is important, since you want to be winning them when you get into them. Your aim is also important for this, especially if you’ve managed to sneak an aim on them from a different angle, you only get 1 second (sometimes less) before they hear your steps, see you, or just have the intuition to turn around and check their flank, possibly prefiring you. It’s important that when you see, you shoot, as you won’t get that same chance again. Treat it this way: if you can see them, they most likely can see you/know where you are too. A good way to help with aim and gunfights. Play free for all, or ranked. Don’t practice in casual, as it sets unrealistic expectations for ranked and you are against players who aren’t taking it seriously/don’t play seriously (that’s the reason they’re in a casual) Extra note: stay calm. It’s easy to get angry; but at the end of the day, you were outplayed. Always accept you lost and move on to the next round/game. The moment you become deeply negative about yourself and the game, the more you will lose, trust me.
The anger does get better and I think you should play this game more often. A tip that I have is to try new ops and start leaning more but all in all, siege is a fun game and it grows on you so just play it however you want. Thank you for the awesome video you got a sub from me.
thousands of hours, hundreds of aces, memorized (nearly) every sound cue, learn something new about this game nearly every day! keep practicing and you’ll be great someday
Realization was my favorite part that hit home for me. I started back in 2017 and played through some harsh metas before I put it down. Picked it back up a couple weeks ago and I am so impressed at how far this game has come. After getting wrecked for a couple of days I can confidently say I love this game
A Little tip. Use a 1.5x scope. Equip It by pressing the weapon in the loadout screen and go into scopes. There are 3 scopes at the top. Those are 1.5,2.0 and 2.5x
A tip i have is the try and aim higher up, as time goes on, you will eventually know how to aim head height. it is very helpful to get the enemy dead as fast as possible to aid you in getting the win
I have over 1.2k hours in this game, and hearing how excited you got with the kapkan traps made my day. I love new players, especially those who stick with it.
I haven’t been playing for a while but friends of mine taught me how to play the game, and want to buy a free use don’t rush as much, like take more time to peek when your going around a corner
Played 4K hours of this game, didn’t touch ranked for the first 250 hours about. Started back in year 1, so things were a lot less complicated, I can imagine what is going on for new players now…
This game and its community will beat you down and make you reach new levels of anger when it’s bad BUT when you’re winning and doing good this game is the best feeling in video games

This video is so relatable, I’m on this journey with you man I currently got up to Bronze in Ranked.

I remember preordering it before it came out! It’s so much bigger now.
I started recently and so many times I have had like one kill because of sweats or just not being able to use some operators good or whatever
I've got 1700+ hours on this game, the frustration never ends
I really miss playing with people like you . I think the way you progressed in the game matches all the aspects i tried recently in this game . Hope you get well at siege 😊
I have over 4k hours on this game and it was awesome to see you slowly understand the game more and more. really reminds me of my first week of the game.
tip with your drones: have your drone near to where you're gonna push from and as you're about to push check your drone to see if anyone's there and once you push in drone further ((:
15:18 was actually a really good use of azami. Use her to block off line of sight so you tip each gunfight into your favor
As someone getting back into game after years, it’s been great seeing so many videos like this.
Learning this game can be very scary and difficult.. but when you DO learn, it makes for some of the most satisfying plays and moments I’ve ever experienced in gaming
5:08 that’s not thatcher, that’s Kapkan. Thatcher is an attacker
Thank
God someone pointed it out
Nahhhhh really? Yh its obv he ws js saying
@@That1guy191no. he said “im using thatcher”
@@nxthxn59he meant it in a metaphorical way
I can relate!
What a well made video! I really like your use of the freecam and your commentary is on point!
holy shit its agenda tv ❤ i love this guy
One thing that helped me when I first started playing was just playing support operators and trying to defend objective, that way if I died my utility could still help the team, and by holding objective you start to learn where the default plants are, where people like to push and what not, that way even if you don’t necessarily know the map, you at least know objective.
this is an exact reenactment of my first time playing siege
The mentality i think is best for the game is “with each death I get better.” That’s one more angle you know to check. One more strategy you learn to do. One more thing to communicate to teammates. Its like dark souls in that respect.
It seems like you gotta do cocaine to play this game.
Here are my thoughts on this video:
When you called Kapkan thatcher I laughed audibly XD
There is indeed a serious bell curve for learning this game and a lot of it is map knowledge and unique operator gadgets.
Why was this video actually so well put together good shit man keep up the good work!! 👍👍
I kinda had this experience to an extent. I was a near day 1 player (dec 2015), but stopped playing after velvet shell. Only got back into it in y6. Had no idea what all the new stuff was.
I'm an experienced R6 player and say that the frustration goes to your teammates when you become a good player.
definitely the most relatable video on R6 i’ve watched so far. just started playing about a week ago and only have about 15 hrs in the game. 100% in the addicted stage of learning lol
Very well done video, I thought this was a channel with at least 100k subs. Keep up the good work.
Keep up the work ^^. The map knowledge comes over time. What maybe helps you is what kind of role in attack and defense you like to play.
i played it a little like 2-3 years but i gave up, i started fully playing this game last year and im just decent at it. the game really gets frustrating at times and it makes me wanna quit and delete it 💀 it’s fun to learn but its a hassle, great video man
bro i did the exact same thing as you and now with like 250ish hours the frustration is still there!!! just keep grinding and learning everyone gets it eventually 😅
i am a new player ive been playing for a week and i was so bad but honestly ive learnt how to play reallt quickly
The anger never gets better but that’s only because you know you could typically handle it better with the knowledge you pick up on along the way
If you wanna main caveira ,you should use pistol more to down em and then interrogate them to reveal enemy team locations to you and your team .
Your videos are such high quality I love it
5:51 i can already tell we play kapkan VERY, very differently.
i like to conserve my traps and listen for the explosion so i know where enemies are and that they lost half their health
Hey you did a great job turning and getting better I was wondering if I can teach you a couple of things let me know! 🙏
When you see enemies by cameras or drones try to yellow ping them instead of scaning during the action phase !
It’s one of those games where you need to tank a bunch of losses in order to learn from your mistakes, And the time will come eventually
The pure happiness in his voice when he killed the guy with Kapkans was so wholesome
Just started playing a week ago currently grinding with my stack for ranked level 40/50 rn it’s been good so far
Having gotten the game a couple weeks ago after putting it off for so long, I identify strongly with the apprehension of getting into the game and struggles of learning it.
Your video convince me to play again this game after 2/3 years break:))
Love your vibe bro
Our situation is the same...
The coolest thing about siege is that no matter how good your gun skill and shooter experience may be, it won’t make you good at siege, there’s so many things you have to grasp and figure out, you can have been playing the game for 8 years and still learn new stuff every time you launch up the game to play
as someone just getting into siege i found this video really relatable
ill be back for sure
Really underrated channel! Good vid bro
he has like 3 channels, one is over 100k not underrated tbh
I played this game way too much (over 2k hours) like 4 years ago and this hit me with so much nostalgia
I wish I could be there to teach you everything, I truly think having a mentor exponentially helps with a learning everything rather than soloing it
I was in the same spot as you when I started.
Pls do more siege content I loved this video
The top three things I’d say contribute the most to being a good R6 player:
1) Teamwork/communication:
This is the most important as you can win a singular round on your own, but it takes a team to win the game.
3. Gunfights/aim
Being good at gunfights is important, since you want to be winning them when you get into them. Don’t practice in casual, as it sets unrealistic expectations for ranked and you are against players who aren’t taking it seriously/don’t play seriously (that’s the reason they’re in a casual)
Extra note: stay calm.
Also a really good next videos would be you playing with someone that has expiernce, and they teach you how to play.
thousands of hours, hundreds of aces, memorized (nearly) every sound cue, learn something new about this game nearly every day! keep practicing and you’ll be great someday
Realization was my favorite part that hit home for me. I started back in 2017 and played through some harsh metas before I put it down. Picked it back up a couple weeks ago and I am so impressed at how far this game has come. After getting wrecked for a couple of days I can confidently say I love this game
the anger never stops i’ve been playing for a while now and it never stops making me angry
Started back in year 1, so things were a lot less complicated, I can imagine what is going on for new players now…
Just started playing last season, and i can confirm, i still don't know what the f*ck i'm supposed to be doing
This game and its community will beat you down and make you reach new levels of anger when it’s bad BUT when you’re winning and doing good this game is the best feeling in video games
10:25 maan that map is sooo good
as someone that plays with my friends siege almost every night.... no the anger is always there! LOL, you do small mistakes that cost you the match. your friends whiff EASY shots.. you know more hence, well, you understand why things didnt go as planned! Great video!
Welcome! This is a wonderful game for those who want to learn through pain. 😉
I got seige at the very end of deep freeze. I play the game for fun with my friends and have a 0.9 K/D. I feel like im getting better with each day but ik there is soooo much to improve upon.
5:40 that IS NOT THATCHER
Who is it I’m new
Kapkan
As a fellow new siege player I’m slowly learning that all the plays I think are smart are actually so stupid that no one on the other team even considers that I would be doing it. 😂😂😂
SEIGE IS SO HARD TO LEARN (i started a week ago) there’s so many maps and so much to remember people who understand seige are amazing
I died when you called kapkan Thatcher
Bro I joined in feb 2024 and it didn’t force me to play against a.i also I agree with you I only just got my first ace last month this game is almost impossible to play
As someone who has played over 2500 hrs, the frustration will always be there when playing a high risk game like siege. It is a very rewarding game at the same time and gives a great adrenaline boost still 9 years later lol
What I would give to be brand new at siege again. High ranks are plagued with hackers. Not even worth playing anymore
it’d be very nice is ubisoft sold the game to another publisher, ubisoft cant get anything done in a good time frame, especially not with multiplayer games
I thought this was a huge youtuber turns out its just an amazing underrated UA-camr
Thatchers kapkan traps got buffed last season fr
