I love guns with wood furniture. So much so, that my AR is the only thing I have with purely synthetic furniture. I miss the days when guns were carefully made to last generations. Such a beauty!

@@ToeJuice Heard about that abomination. Props to the guy for all the effort, I mean its gotta be a very complex mechanism. Does not mean I like it though lol
I have a Woodsmaster Model 742 in .30-06 that I inherited from my grandfather. Looking to get it inspected/cleaned/repaired one of these days and hopefully take it out to the range.
I have one! Its like a family airloom, belonged to my Grandpa, then was passed down to me. It has killed a lot of Deer! I plan to get a deer someday, I wasn't really into hunting when I was a kid, my dad was a big hunter and this was his rilfe of choice.
This is a early 760 Carbine, the early rifles used a fixed tube for the pump to slide on much like a pump shotgun, this carbine was the first to use a telescoping pump tube design which all later 760's eventually utilized. The cap on the end of the pump assembly is unique to this rifle. I've only ever seen pictures of a couple of these, all were A grade. This is a B or BDL grade with the 5 diamond checkering. Beautiful rifle! Definitely not very easy to find.
I have the upgraded Model 7600 in 30.06. I've had it for 40 years, wide view scope mounts, giving me both open sights or a 3 X 9 Bushnell scope. I love it, 2 1/4" groups @ 100 yards all day with factory loaded or my hand loads, I have no complaints, none at all, not one.
I know gun laws are different depending on which state or territory you live in but which state/territory of Australia has the least restrictive gun laws? As an American I'm curious because their gun laws get a bad rep here (or good depending on your view on guns).
@@MeestahBinks there’s no real “freedom state” as all states have surprisingly differing laws. Some states you can have 15 shotgun barrels, but can’t have folding stocks and visa-versa. Queensland is a good all-rounder, though.
Thanks for sharing this awesome video. I inherited a 760 chambered in 300 savage that was my late grandfather's deer hunting rifle. It does need a good once over since its been in storage for many years but I hope to get it looking as good as yours and take it to the range someday soon.
I have a 1956 the first year for the 760 it also has the modest diamond checkerd forend but the tube extends from the pump handle with a screw on cap like a pump shotgun
The Remington Gamemaster Model 760 is a pump-action rifle produced by Remington Arms Company. It's part of the Model 760 series, known for its versatility and reliability. The carbine version typically has a shorter barrel, making it more compact and suitable for maneuvering in tight spaces. Here are some key features of the Remington Gamemaster Model 760 Carbine:

I just inherited one of these. It was my great grandfathers rifle i never got to meet. I'm now the 4th generation owner of this wonderful Gamemaster.

I just picked up a 760 in 30-06 for $200, not the best condition cosmeticly but runs flawlessly and shoots true. Gonna make it my new deer rifle
First off we have bolt action shotguns, but we have pump action rifles? What’s next a lever action machine gun??
Potato Digger V2 perhaps?
The Browning M1895

Wrong
I’m pretty sure the early ones were not tapped for a scope. My 300 savage is not

what an absolute gorgeous rifle. hang on to that one bud.
Nice. I have a 1958 Remington 760 Gamemaster ADL 257 Roberts. Been a great gun.
you can't quite capture how nice these things are unless you have one, i love the one my grandpa has so much
i was expecting shotgun shells, then suddenly .270 mag appears
I wish newer bolt actions had iron sights.
For what I intend to use it for I don't need a scope that can see long range.
Why have a iron sights if the gun shoot at a spread
These guns are damn popular here in Australia, about the most fun you can have with guns outside of the army
If only they didn’t cost so much

Very nice. . . . Using the sling, the way it's meant to be used will ensure better accuracy and dampen the recoil.
I wonder how many whitetails have been harvested by this style of rifle.
Edit: that’s a really short sight radius
a combination of pump action shotgun and rifle
Be sure to spray an entire can of WD-40 down the barrel to keep it in tip top shape.

Sir, i love your Videos. Guns are So satisfying.
Beaut. Later model "five of diamonds" ADL. In carbine no less. Don't see many of those.
