So basically seven out of eight potentially world record paced runs are just gonna get snuffed out by hand RNG at the 45 minute mark? Jesus that's brutal.
What I thought you meant by "best" isn't what you actually meant, but rather this is one of the most epic runs I ever saw from a dramatic standpoint, but honestly this kind of roller coaster ride is what speedrunning is all about, triumph followed by despair, followed by overcoming, and coming up just short at the end. Amazing video
Put quite well. He got that insane RNG for early hammer, then actually jinxed himself when he said, "you know how world 4 will go". Hammer Bros drank their damn coffee is what happened.
I was playing SMB3 on the all-stars collection and I actually got a 1 frame trick (at least I think it's 1 frame). I flew off the 3 1-up area pipe in 8-1.
“The best speedrun ever recorded” no it’s not the best speedrun, because sadly those few minor mistakes including at world 5-7,world 6-6 ,world 7-1 & 7-6 including those several 4 hammerbrother movements in world 5 and those 2 hands in world 8 just ruined the world record. Yes i know it’s very very. Hard ,it’s easier said then done and i will never ever come that close BUT this is not an exception.
@@stompingpeak2043 well we all make mistakes as human’s but aslong it doesn’t have impact on the speedrun or meets any concequences later on, i can life with it, i really want to see his perfect run an day,BUT off course nobody will ever match a tas speedrun .
@@johneygd yeah cause a perfect run is minimum hammer movements, first try all clips, suicide skip, a couple offscreen wand grabs, and no hands all in the same run. All of these are rng and encountering them all together while doing every level and trick perfect is pretty much impossible. It's like playing pokemon and catching 6 shiny mons in a row. Or going to a casino and hitting the jackpot several times in a row on the slots. Mitch has some runs that are pretty much perfect by human standards. Could he save a second or two? Yeah but that's about it.
Hey, Mitch, you should look into World Record for most Mario 3 any% completions in 24 hrs. Have an event, stream it all, upload the VOD. Loving the new YT content! GL with Hello Fresh!
Where can you get super mario and all the Kaizo games at? I have super mario on the switch, but how do you play with save States and being able to play any level with any powerup,
Actually quite reasonable prices, specially for a guy that only cooks weekends usually. Wonder if I can do a 100% breakfast selection. Steak eggs sausage.
Hey Mitch, weird to see your videos getting less and less views over the years, as well as you stated in the videos the streams slowing down. I believe this is probably just due to Mario 3 unfortunately. I love Mario 3 so damn much, but it's just not really something people are looking into anymore. I experienced a similar situation myself, I never really changed my content but people just aren't interested in it anymore, and honestly neither am I. I'm probably going to start a new channel to post videos I actually care about, but I'm sure all of us would support you if you wanted to post other games/ videos.
I don't want to be a buttpipe if this is something that has been discussed ad nauseam within the community, but why not have sub-categories of 1, 2, and 3 hands? It wouldn't be as lauded as the fastest records, but it would be a way of celebrating sick runs that get smacked down by RNG. I guess it would just lead to weird arguments about how such and such a runner who got 3 hands was actually faster than a zero hands run if you factor those out etc. etc. and it would just generally clutter things up.

IMO there should be seperate 1, 2 and 3 hand categories

Idk man. It's the best he could have done. 2 hands is all that cost him the most insane run you've ever seen.
Put quite well. He got that insane RNG for early hammer, then actually jinxed himself when he said, "you know how world 4 will go".

Mitch you're doing so well, thank you for your continued dedication to pushing that SMB3 WR!
The levels with the flutes the levels with the music box, or some of the few levels in the game that have more than one exit
youtube is like.. here's 43 cents.. buy yourself a tootsie roll

This was such a good run, but such a heartbreaker. I was hoping all those 4 movements were the worst of it, but those darned hands... oof!
Bro that was AWESOME! 51:04 on derust? You’ve got this in the bag!

If no hands he would have gotten WR in DERUST, that would've been crazy
@@johneygd the only problem is a perfect run will never be recorded unless it's cheating. Along with having the skills of a tas bot

With no hands this is ~50:20, which is freaking INSANE
Two hands and crappy world 5 bros. You'll get 'em next time, Mitch.
Mitch is such a good dude offering to send back a dono like that
Gg. Awesome run even with the ridiculous level 5 hammer bros and the two hands. You’re awesome.
Where can you get super mario and all the Kaizo games at? I have super mario on the switch, but how do you play with save States and being able to play any level with any powerup,
This is awesome Mitch.
GG! Certified Fresh run!
Also, I got the 5 frame perfect pause at 45:45 for the 64coin 1UP! glitch.
Every Pro....slides down a hill backwards.
That's gotta be a 2 hands WR by 20 seconds
Heard about you on summoning salt. Subbed man🤘🤘
Why aren’t you running the Japanese version yet? Is the item glitch not consistent enough to be worth it being that late of a reset point?
What a fucking run though.
How do you know what the hammer brother is carrying before you battle him?
Damn hands. Good run Mitch
What's your fastest time in World 9
I just love your idea of putting your twitch streams edited on UA-cam! Feels cool knowing that I was there 🎮
Wow!
Love all of it
You just gave me a Mitchie LOL
Hello fresh huh
Actually quite reasonable prices, specially for a guy that only cooks weekends usually. Wonder if I can do a 100% breakfast selection. Steak eggs sausage.
What's your record for doing every level?
He has the WR for the 100% category. 1:09:38.
@@Rain593 😀👍👍
The hands.... it's always the hands!!! 😖🤦♂️🙄
What's the bump strat btw? I am not familiar with this, I assume its a way to make hands less likely?
From what I remember of his explanation, the bump can sort of help buffer and give you a better chance to get across the hands. Doesn't always work.
Why tho. Someone explain plz
What hands? I didn't see any hands *skipped to the end*. I think you should call Nintendo and ask them for your money back.
Cool.
Nice WR. I mean, I stopped watching at world 7 airship but I'm sure nothing heart wrenchingly terrible happened after that.
Dunno if this is a joke or not. He got 2 hands at the end. I'll let you check the final time for yourself.
Ooooooof
Nice try bro but i hope the game will work into your favors, lucky weekend😁
😁🇺🇸👍👍 great job
