  • Well, mistakes happen... especially when trying to post content weekly! Regardless, footage was missed of us repairing the strut rod brace... so much so that i had to create a continuation video.

    In my days as a machine fitter we called them witness marks. That don't matter. It just brought back memories. Thank you.

      I think in the previous video I mentioned witness marks, unless it was in one of my Instagram stories, but glad it brought back some memories! Ive always been interested in tool and die, millwrights and other machine work. Thanks for watching 👍

    Nice work but much danger for fire! My brother had a wood work bench like yours. He was grinding and left his Garage to go for dinner. 15minutes later his garage was on fire! He was able to save it but what a mess. You need metal work bench and sheet metal on all walls with wood or Gyps where grinding sparks hit the walls. Be safe grinding IS FIRE!!!!!

    Hey brother! It's Anthony in South Florida. I imagine by now you are a dad. Congrats! Super impressive work!

    Mike, you definitely need to move south and open a custom shop. That's some nice work. Imagine how much more you could do with a CNC plasma cutter, a stomp shear, a heavy duty finger break, and plenty of room to do it.

    Was impressed with the detailed fabrication the first time around. Seeing the engineering-testing going on this time gets an added - 👍

      Thanks John, testing in a must! Especially on something that suspension will be hooked to! Thanks for watching!

    Nice fab work. Amazing how much you can achieve with cardboard and tools in your own garage.

      It’s a pro spot unit, bought it from titanium tools in concord or Vaughn…. Forget exactly where they were located

    Does anyone sell prefabricated pieces? I have 5,63 fairlanes and 64 and 65 falcons, one of the fairlanes has got to have it. 2 I would like to replace or at least repair. I am just beginning to weld, getting better but not there yet.

    • @Theoldcarchannel.
      @Theoldcarchannel.  Рік тому

      Nice collection!
      Check out crites. They sell a lot of fairlane stuff. Believe I saw these repair panels on their site after I finished this repair. Not sure how exacting they are to factory though.
      Let me know if you need any welding pointers

    Paid $1,000,000 to do it? The guy who originally did that was paid about $6.00 an hour in '64.

    • @Theoldcarchannel.
      @Theoldcarchannel.  Рік тому

      No, it was a mental challenge to myself. Was a tough weld to reach, so said to myself… if someone said “if you make that weld, I’ll pay you a million bucks” (as encouragement)
