I think that even Steve Wallis would be proud of your stealth camping abilities!!!
That would be a fantastic collaboration!
just wanted to write the same. it would be a great colab
Took the words out of my mouth.
Ahh thanks! Steve is the best 😃
I agree, and Steve is the master of stealth.
You can't get any stealthier than that, Claire. Those cammo nets and twigs and leaves really made it. Another great vlog. Thanks for sharing.
Yes, I fully agree. Only when it is for real, one should sleep under the tarp, not outside.
I have done 18 years in the British Army. I think your videos are amazing. If I was still serving I would use them as examples of how to build shelters.
Even with all my experience, I learn so much from your videos.
Thank you!!!
Ahh that's so nice, thank you so much! Thank you for your service to our country 🤗
cheers dits
May I ask which branch? It's only that I would use this video as an example of what not to do.
POG
In a hole in the ground there lived a Wild Beare. Not a nasty hole full of worms but a Wild Beare hole and that means comfort.
🐻🤗
Fantastic Tolkien reference.
U did a really good job to blend into the ground. I think I've never seen a better stealth camp.
Ahh yay thanks! :D
Have you considered what happens when it rains? If it rains, you will be soaked because water will take the path of least resistance, your ditch that you placed your shelter in.
I’m glad I’m not the only one that thinks the same thing. Lol
one of those times maybe a 6 inch cot might help
She literally said that if it rains, she will stay dry under that tarp. LOL
@@MrNobody55555 As long as it does not rain very hard.
@@JackO024 Hey, thanks for clarifying that. Didn't know a drizzle wouldn't be a threat. Thanks for skooling me. .... cheers!
The only downside with such good camo is you may get trampled over 😮
and if/ when it rains overnight the 'ditch' that you are sleeping in will quickly fill up with rainwater.
this one would wouldn't fill up at all, I know these woods well and this is a long ditch that doesn't even have water settled in it during wet winters :)@@johnbradley1599
yes very true! although there is no access for bikes or motors in these woods, those would be my biggest concern
The use of detrius....limbs, brambles, heavy foliage even rocks can redirect traffic away from an area as well as provide better concealment.
@@johnbradley1599That was exactly what I was thinking.
Looks very nice but feels very odd for myself being from Finland. You can literally drive 20min outside of Helsinki to setup camp in a place where nobody passes by for weeks or months, perhaps even not during a year and if you're somewhere outside the capital region, finding empty woods is probably easier than finding people 😂
Ahh wow, that sounds like absolute bliss!! We are quite crammed together here in the UK unfortunately :/ thanks for watching :)
I used to visit Finland for my work, it is indeed very sparsely populated but as I was driving from Helsinki to Pereseinojoki in June, I was surprised to see snow remnants at the side of the road. My query, does Finland have the ,'' allemansrecht', to go where you want to, like Sweden has ?
It is like that in many countries, ie. Little need for stealth because no one goes there!
You are very lucky in Finland that your Government is not ruled by Big Business which forced Mass Immigration to provide consumers so they could sell more and it seems your Politicians are not so easily bribed as UK Politicians !
@@AnthonyTobyEllenor-pi4jq Yes we do, you can just set up a camp anywhere outside someone's yard, pretty much.
That is excellent camo for sure. My only critique would be the ditch. If it were to rain, that would not keep you dry because the sides of the ditch would direct the rain down into the bottom. But for a clear night like you had that was a PERFECT stealth site.
Thank you so much :D this ditch doesn't fill with water, even in winter. It's very long, prob around 50m. The most it would get is slightly muddy (I know these woods very well). Hope you have a lovely week! 🌿🐻
Your videos give me a sense of peace and calm. And your confidence and bravery gives me inspiration! Thank you so much for that Claire!
Simple but effective! Fun little camp, another great video! Sometimes it’s the most minimalist camps that make for the best experiences
I never thought of the tarp being so low to the ground ,thats agreat tip ,ive just bought a large tarp 8 feet by 12 feet ,not put it up yet carnt wait, brilliant camouflage by the way ,fantastic, I love nine ladies stone circal. For camping , especially when there is thousands of hippys there ,i love woods ❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊
Watch out for mountain bikers - would hit that at speed looking for some air!!! 😂
Great camo camp Claire !
Haha thanks! Yes no bike access in these woods :)
Wow, that really blended into the surroundings. The only worry about using a ditch is rain. Hope you are doing well. Stay happy and safe.
Hi Claire,
I think I’ve only ever seen one other video using this technique with this type of camp, pretty much the ultimate in low profile stealth camping especially with the camo netting. Hope the dog made a full recovery!!🤣😂
Cheers
Graham
Hey Graham, ahh that's cool, loving the camo netting, so effective! 👀 Yes let's hope so, hopefully not too many sessions of doggo therapy required 😅 🐶💕 Hope you're good Sir
Hi, I'm no camping expert, but you mentioned if it rains you'll be okay. Surely if it rains the water gathers in a ditch!?!
yup. instantly spotted that oversight. clearly not an engineer this one...
Haven't watched it yet - crossing my fingers you didn't get washed away by a nightly rain.
You really are not easyly scared, are you?
Thanks for your new adventure - and have a happy time! 🌹🍀
Exped (flexmat plus) do a thicker foam mat like an egg crate I got one a while back as I'm a side sleeper and to be fair other than the fact it's bright blue it's alright with it being like 1.5" thick, I swear it's meant to be good down to like 0°c or something daft like that
That is without doubt the stealthiest camp ...above the thousands of wild camping / stealth camping and everything in between videos I've watched on here. that is SAS style ! brilliant . well done you ! that is amazing !
you got skills girl !
You're videos are always great. Also, I can listen to you talk all day. Inspirational you are. I believe in you.
Superb stealth job ! My only worry would be that a person would walk or even worse, cycle over the top completely unaware until the last second.
But I guess you picked a spot nicely away from regular tracks. Great vid as always Claire. Greetings from Sydney 🇦🇺
Thank you! Yes no tracks through that spot and there's no access for bikes or anything like that in these lil woods. Also, I would see and/or hear anyone coming close anyhow. No one about after dark. Have a great week and best wishes from England :) Claire
Wow Claire, I wish that we had you for our NATO Tactical Evaluation prep at RAF Lakenheath in the old days...1990s. We had tons of Camo netting. Stay Beautiful, resourceful, and exciting.
Dear Claire, as always, thank you for your beautiful videos.❤
After looking at the number of views for your various types of videos, I see that I am in the minority so far as the type that I prefer. I do not see the purpose of stealth camping unless you are homeless, a secret agent, or an invading Special Forces soldier. I do appreciate and most enjoy the videos where you go on a multi-day trip across beautiful territory, with ample streams or ponds to take a drink or a dip, starry nights, sunny mornings, endless vistas, and when you are able to stay warm and dry. I very much love when you express gratitude for the beauty that surrounds you and for the path you have chosen in life. I also enjoy the videos where you encounter difficulties, but persevere with your wonderful attitude and sense of humor. I watch, but feel sad when you are wet and freezing and uncomfortable, but I understand that is an important part of the experience.
Thank you so much for what you do and for being an overwhelmingly positive presence in our universe. Maybe I will go hide under a bush in my sleeping bag next to the local bike trail for the night and find it exhilarating! ❤ 🌲🌲🌲
I agree with you Caterina, but any WildeBeare video is a good video because she is such a delight.
Nature photographers often use camo clothing and a camo head net too. If you got some all you would need is a flashlight that projects a camo pattern.
Excellent concealment, however, this can only be done in dry weather... One rainstorm that that ditch is going to see her doing the Watusi Fling to get that tent pulled up and do an emergency setup on higher ground...Still, in good summer weather, this is a great stealth setup ;>)
Nice vid Claire. Would add that the ditch is probably a water run off, so beware of showers when using this method. The cam was great, or it would be if you put your kit inside of the basha. Excellent production and presentation.
Great camo work! Somebody should make a tarp with irregular edges for this sort of thing. Still, beware of water courses, like ditches. You don't want to do a George Washington and camp int a place that turns into a river in the middle of the night. If it's dry at the bottom, and there's no forecast rain, you may be safe, as this time.
Thank you :D this ditch doesn't fill with water, even in winter when everything is soggy. I know these lil woods very well :)
@@WildBeare then it's not a ditch.... it's a hollow. Ditches fill with water.
Hi Claire.. which pattern common net is this one? And the greener one you used in your other tarp video? Many thanks.
I love it ...I am wary as a woman camping solo so I love the camouflage and stealth camping..I'm gonna give that a try
It's not just the locations and the camping, it's also the fact that you obviously enjoy editing this stuff that makes it so entertaining.
I’ve started watching your vids as a survival guide Claire, who knows where the future is going in this mad world! 🤣😊👍🏽⛺️♥️
Love how peaceful you and your videos are. Keep it up Claire. 😎
That was one of the stealthiest setups I've seen in a long time, and it was quick & easy. Well done!
Thank you :D
Hahaha! That’s was too funny ! Your captions made the video! Great writing! I loved it! I think that dog will be extra careful next time! Hahaha! I noticed the lil stealth shuffle! Good one Claire! Thank you for sharing. I really needed that. I wanna see the Greece pictures you talked about! 🥰 lots of love 💜
Heyy thanks, yeh I think doggo was a bit confused to see me there bless him 🐶💕 so hard to stay hidden when the dogs find you anyway haha! So glad you liked it, ooh there's a few pics from Greece in my stories on Insta :) Hope you have a lovely week 🤗
Yeah they like sniffn anything out! Lol our pup can tell when you open the peanut butter ljar lol he’s smells it a mile away. They have a keen sence of smell. Oh ok 👍🏼 thank you. I will check it out!🥰
Hello Claire, army camouflage netting , believe it or not has two sides, one side is dull and other shinny for summer or winter , I used dull side mostly stops glare from sun, just incase you and others didn’t now
👍😁 That looked like so much fun to do. Easy and fairly quick to setup and invisible to all, apart from the doggo.. Proberbly your most stealthily wildcamp yet claire 🐻 😁 Have fun and takecare wildone ..
Thank you yep simple and effective, love it. Hope you have a great week :D
@WildBeare 😁 You too Claire.. 👍
Been stealh camping all my life! Leave no trace. Lol. Even with a vehicle backed into shadows a simple crosshatch of limbs wit foleage inserted will conceal camp/vehicle.
Only thing with the china camo is it often lights up under night vision, also avoid normal detergents/fabric brighteners for same reason. I use a brown/green reversable fabric camo punch/ no netting that runs $25.00 for 8'x20' sections. Great for tent/tarp, car, kayak.
Looks like you've mastered the principles. There are many amusing times where people can be as close as 20' away and unawares your there.
Hi, Corp in Corporals Corner makes a broom by just using an old branch with a couple of forks at the end, which makes short work of clearing the brush away from the ground. PS, I'd be too scared of rats, bugs, spiders, slugs and basically everything else to do what you did there.
Oooh yes someone else has mentioned this too, I keep meaning to try it thanks! Haha yes those take a bit of getting used to I guess, the slugs love to get in my hair at night so I wear a bug net over my head now :)
@@WildBeare I so laughed at the slug trail you had in your hair in a previous vid. Bloody slugs, covered my rucksack last camp in trails of silvery slime! 🤢🙂
Your ability to hide is most fantastic. You know, sometimes it is better to have a bit more than needed just in case the weather changes overnight. Another great video. Have a grand day.
I love the way you wear your "come get a piece of me" Socks out in the wild
You're amazing. Thank you Claire Beare.XO
Snakes and spiders love this type of “stealth camping” 😂
True!
Ive never understood why they try to hide from people.....and not everything else lmao
No that important in the UK...
@@dan_kay Yeah but like are you all not uncomfortable having critters all on you while sleeping I dunno I rather have a tent
I mean the real issue comes if it rains thats might keep her dry from falling rain but she is laying in a ditch that water is getting funnelled into she will be in a river at more then a drizzle
You can definitely teach some of these so called stealth campers a few things ... your set ups and low profile sleeping areas a gr8 . Keep up the good work ...loving the vidz ...
If you tried that in Arkansas there would only be a skeleton left in the morning. The mosquitoes would suck out the juice and the bugs would pick the bones clean. Lol
Hi Claire, maybe consider using a voil backed mat of some kind, to lay on, that would stop heat loss on damp ground and send you body heat back into the sleeping bag...stay safe.
Best stealth camp you've done so far! Brilliant!
Thank you! :D
Great job with the camo netting and tarp set up. I was in the US Army for 7 years and had plenty of practice with camo netting over tents, vehicles and generator sets, I was in communications. That said and I don't know how much this would affect filming, but to go truly stealth, when we were on field exercises, we would use red lights inside the commo vans and red filters for our flash lights when moving around after dark. We could see fairly well but others couldn't see us until they were very close. Again, not sure what that would do to your filming, but when camping close to paths, less likely to be seen if using that. As always, love your videos. Stay safe.
Hahaha, that is the bizzo, Claire. Even the deer didn’t see you.
Nobody would know you’re there. You’d be like the last Japanese soldier to be found out there 😁👍🏼
Haha thank you Time :) Hope you're good Sir 🤗
@@WildBeare All good thank you, Claire. 👋🏼😉👍🏼
The trouble with really good camouflage is that if you get up during the night to take a short walk, when you return you might not be able to find your camp!
2k likes in one hour!! Impressive. Lovin this vid. Wanna say thanks for the inspiration. I've done a few wild tarp camps now after watching what you've done in the past...am hooked. I'm now going down the route of 'haunted' stealth wild camping for extra fun..so yeah, thank you and keep sharing your little adventures 😉
Heyy thanks!! Ooh that sounds so much fun 👻 I would love that, but not alone haha. So glad you're getting out with the tarp, so versatile aren't they, endless possibilities really. Thanks for watching my lil vid, have a great week :) Claire
@WildBeare it is indeed so much fun. I can't say EXACTLY were i go, however, I'm pretty local to a certain village that holds the guinness record as the most haunted. And as there are plenty of ghosts with so many places to stealth camp, it's my main tarping place(s) at the mo, but I do want to start going further afield. If you ever fancy some ghostly stealth tarping, give me a shout lol 😆
@@stevexracer4309If only they weren't hidden! But why would anyone want the truth to be shown?🤔
Thanks for putting a smile on my face today, Claire. Nice job with the camo!
Thank you! Have a lovely week :)
Lovely video as always, discovered an admiration for outdoor camping through your videos. Not something I personally want to do but i think your enthusiasm for it is very infectious and you make it educational without it feeling like a tutorial video. It's also edited beautifully as well.
Claire your adventures are such a gift! i need like 40or 50 minutes of Beare camping 😁
Aw thank you! Maybe one day if I'm able to do a reeeally long hike I can make a longer video haha :D
What a great place to spend the night.... till it rains.
she said "if it does rain I'll be nice and dry". YOU'RE LITERALLY IN A TINY VALLEY, AND THE WATER WILL DRAIN TOWARD YOU. HONESTLY
@@Carlos-wy4on I see a swimming pool with a tarp over it.
@@JackO024 🤣🤣🤣
@@Carlos-wy4on Dig a shallow trench and water will flow away. She's not expecting torrential rain.
@@macthe-qy2ip ok, that's stating the obvious. No one is asking for solutions for something that no one asked. We're replying to what is shown in the video. Might as well say "build a roof with cement tile on plywood and she won't get wet".
You are certainly learning fast about good camouflage. Nice little video x
If it starts to rain you need to pray your ditch doesn’t turn into a stream.
First thing I thought... "I found this ditch..." nooooo
It's the wrong terrain for flash floods. Too flat, too much cover, high percolation. But a generally bad idea, I agree.
If you have a folding camp shovel you can actually dig a trench to guide any potential rain water to run around/away from your desired spot. No doubt it's possible to do with your hands if needed and without tools.
never camp in ditches. unless you like getting very wet.
I`ve had that happen to me, British Army exercise 1985 , went to sleep in a nice depression out of the howling wind and it rained in the night and i woke up in a ditch 4 inches deep in water,
Thanks for another great video, you always inspire me to get out, which has been difficult as of late, but Im working on it, Im hoping to do my first wild camp next week in some woods i've located and you've inspired me to try it, then I will truely be a Wild One ❤
Ahh how nice, hope you have an amazing time, I was hooked from the first night out, back in summer 2017 :D
I can't imagine how you think you will stay dry in a ditch if it rains?
Good bivvy bag will do the trick
@@scapeink4819 Ever slept in a wet ditch? It's not a good choice .
@@captainchaos3053 I have actually lol
@scapeink4819 yeah me too and not by choice. That's why ik ow that if it rains bivi bad or not its going to get miserable in the ditch.
She doesn't live there now bro, it's just for the video
That's an excellent stealth camp! Looks like it would be a great place to spend a night. I really enjoy your adventures. So peaceful. Thanks for taking us to these beutiful places. ❤
Well done Claire. Love your adventures
i have the 4x4 DD camo tarp, and its pretty good, that would save you carrying the netting as well.
The first thing that came to mind was off road cyclists 🚴♂️ 😯
Yea ditches are awesome especially if there's a hard cold rain at night!
What's your secret to not getting bitten by mosquitoes when woodland camping?
I always get at least 20 bites during the warm months
The sound of those birds, amazing. Thank you for such great content and editing.
Wow, Almost invisible
This really was inspiring! I'm stealthily pitching a tent of my own right now.
As an ex squaddie I approve, I would have happily slept under that shelter.
Love your video. It is so hot and humid I am not leaving the house today. i just imagined i was in the cooler woods
You got.some scam going on in FB or.messenger, or something someone is using your account for.scamming
Hi Claire, you did an amazing job with your camo camp. You are an amazing woman and have such a passion and love for the outdoors. I enjoyed this video. Take care and stay safe out in your beautiful country side.
Thanks so much Terry! Hope you have a really lovely week :)
@@WildBeare , thank you Claire. You have a wonderful week too
Its amazing how well that camo-netting works. Good camp Claire 🙂💞
I love your videos. What a beautiful spot you picked too! Thank you for sharing
Thanks. I might need it soon with this housing crisis in Ireland, a lot of homelessness here already. Landlord might come back after many years in NY, suddenly.. Just found this house a year ago.. back then it was 1 week before becoming homeless as previous landlord decided to make airbnb out of the studio and I have prepared a tent XD...
I wish I could stay out doors like you Claire away from all the hustle n bustle great video dear as always best wishes Phil from Shropshire 👍💐
As a middle aged male camper I have never felt the need to be ‘stealthy’ and have never bothered however as a single female I can see why CB would like to keep a very low profile. She obviously enjoys this aspect of her outdoor trips
Yea well done, don't wander to far,you might not find it.looks cozy also.
I used a heavy duty groundsheet with a reflective side , and a lightweight double sided foam and reflective finnish which together kept me cosy under my Tarp .
Your enthusiasm is catching. My kids want to (steathfully) camp in our back yard this coming weekend 😮😊
Ahh yay! This is amazing, have the most fun you guys! 😍
"Someone call national geographic" 😄 to be fair the footage of the wasp or bee or whatever it is is pretty amazing 🥰 very cute 😍 and the footage of the light through the trees in the morning is amazing too

Stumbled across your channel by pure chance.and so glad i did.
That's what we called " Stealth " .... Job Well Done ! Thanks for sharing too .... 👍👍
You done too good of a job there Claire. I think i would be afraid of someone on a mountain bike running me over while I was asleep 🤣🤣🤣
You're right, dogs (and dog walkers) are a problem! As soon as it's light, they're out sniffing around (the dogs and the dog walkers).
Nice video as expected.
Yep, they're a proper pita! And wouldn't the dogs prefer a lie in instead of being dragged out first thing in the morning?😂
Wow! The camo! I was looking right at it and couldn't see it. Thanks for a short and sweet video!
Great job on the camo.....you blended in perfectly...if you hadn't moved several times, I was completely fooled....loved the video, thanks for sharing
Might be a problem finding it again after a late night toilet visit..😊😊 Guess you can't have it 2 ways... Great vid thanks for posting!
This is sort of how I camp.. I use a 10x10 Camoflaged Tarp so I do not have to use that extra. I just fold the Tarp in half and lay it on the ground. I have a 5 ft x 10 ft shelter. I use all the Clips, Rope and Stakes to keep it in place. I do a short Fold at the Bottom and clip it shut with maybe two clips along one side. I use short sticks to prop up the interior and remove them at night if I wish.. I also sprinkled leaves all over the Tarp to add to the Camoflage.. Water and Rain proof.
Wow!! I’m glad that no one walked over you! That was invisible blending!
So graceful how you present these. Looks like you’re having fun 😋
G'day to you! I am glad I found you again ,its been about a Year I last saw you,I had a stroke and have been trying to get my act together,I rememeber you in a Walled Hut and your Tarp came off, annyhoo great that I found you again, thanks for your Fun Camping🤗
Shame you were not around when I was younger and Living in my area of West Sussex. We loved this sort of things and would have had a great laugh
I love the sound of your voice, you relax me and soothe me. Your content is also lovely.
One of my Fav things when I was in the Forces in the 80's was camo and making yourself invisible using what nature provides in the area you are in
Nice work👍 Love your channel and you are one amazing woman. Thank you 🙏
The little thing I built across the highway from Harris teeter could sleep probably 4....
There is a heater and supplies and an even an electric generator back there.....
Yet another excellent video. Those camo nets are perfect blend for a leafy forest floor.
You would make a terrific soldier dear! Very good cover!😃🤘
its a great steal camp the only thing is when its dark you are giving away were you are with all the white light and fire you can use red light to prevent that or just don't use a fire or light
If you REALLY want to “limbo time” a low profile stealth shelter (assuming your not worried about a downpour) in a little hollow…. Use either three or four trees to make a X or Y shaped ridge line
This is cool! I'm not a camper but I want to do this for some reason. Maybe it's all those times we built forts out of bushes and sticks as a kid. 🤣
