Excellent video, as for underrated books: Mythago Wood - Robert Holdstock, The Riftwar Saga - Raymond E Feist, anything written by Charles De Lint, Watership Down - Richard Adams, The Night Watch - Sergei Lukyanenko
I watched the other video too, I really like seeing you two together. Sometimes you see the collaborations over zoom, side by side really is enjoyable and fun to see.
I see 9 books recommended, not 10. Which one am I missing? The Ninth Rain by Jen Williams Guns of the Dawn by Adrian Tchaikovsky Voice of War by Zack Argyle The Bone Shard Daughter by Andrea Stewart The Bone Ships by RJ Barker Fireborne by Rosaria Munda Combat Codes by Alexander Darwin Promise of Blood by Brian McClellan Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman
I can't even tell you how excited I was when I saw it's a collab video! 😂 Seeing you guys so happy and having fun really made my day! I've now also been officially sold on Children of Time even though it was just a side note, but recently I've become obsessed with all things space and was actually already eyeing that book a few days ago 😂 Onto the soon-to-be-physical TBR it goeees
Hahaha awww! Thank you! It also brought a big smile to me to edit it! We had an incredible time! Ohh I think you really will like Children of Time (if you are alright with spiders? 🥲)
@@FunFantasyBooks I thiiiink I am? I don't mind spiders as long as they don't get the idea of crawling on me, but I can't stand anything without visible legs (pun not intended 😂)
Finally someone talk about the "Powder Mages Trilogy". These books are really underrated and Brian mcClellan wrote an innovative magic system that I enjoyed a lot. He wrote also another trilogy, that I'm excited to read! So thanks!
@@FunFantasyBooks I'm finishing the third book of the first trilogy and I'm trying to don't read anything about the next trilogy. But I'm excited too 🤭🤭. My book list is huge and every week with something new. It's so hard to follow everything
Hi there. What a fun video. I have not had a chance to listen to quite a few of those yet, but I want to now. I do have the audiobook versions of Guns of the Dawn and the Andrea Stewart series as well as the Rosario Munda series. Maybe once I get done with the 12 books in a year challenge that I got from my friends on Facebook and the Mistborn books, I will pick those others up. Right now, I am listening to The very secret society of irregular witches by sengo Mandanna, which has been a cute book apart from the bunch of curse words that are put in I think just for shock value. I get the feeling that for a large portion of the book could be used in a drinking game. Apart from that, it's a cozy read. I have also started listening to the Well of Ascension which has been great, even though this is my second time listening to it. Also, I did finish listening to the audiobook Ruination by Anthony Reynolds. The beginning was great, it sucked me in, I found a favorite character, but by the middle and end I felt completely disgusted. It made me sick. By the middle of the book, I felt like asking the question what's the point.
Ohhh! Then you don’t recommend Ruination? I’ve had it in my TBR for such a long time!! Please!!! Give a try to Guns of the Dawn! The audiobook is amazing!
@@FunFantasyBooks You can give Ruination a try. You might have a very different experience than I did. The only spoiler that I will give you is that during the last half of the book, the main characters have to make a journey to the exact same place twice for a reason that was already proven to be unnecessary when they got back from going on this journey the first time. Also, I don't mean to spoil anything but pretty much every character that you could get attached to in a really meaningful way gets killed by the end of the book. It also happens in a really gross way. I would give it a chance just to see what you think but after I heard all that it just was a letdown. Yes, I do have the audiobook for guns of the Dawn I am really looking forward to listening to it now after your praise of it. Today, I did start working on listening to The Well of Ascension by Brandon Sanderson. I will be spending the rest of September listening to that and then I'll be spending a huge part of October listening to the hero of ages for the first time I might add. The first time I listened to the series I stopped after listening to book two and then got distracted and never got around to reading or listening to the third book don't ask because I have no idea how to answer that question myself. Pretty much all of the books that you both mentioned are ones that I do have on my TBR have meaning to get to. I did try listening to Red rising and I actually had to take several breaks from that book because I was so disgusted at the human anatomy stuff that they were doing it really made me sick. Plus the author and I differ or I found that the author was very disrespectful of a profession that I happen to work in. I got the very deep impression from him that he never ever consults with any experts and I absolutely hate it when authors pull such stupid tricks. Sorry for the rudeness but reading Pierce Brown's work was hard.
Another underrated series is Ryiria Revelations by Michael J Sullivan! It's so good! My 16yr old son liked it more than Mistborn era 2, and the same as era 1! So criminally underrated!!
Is Fireborne sort of Fourth Wing without the romance? I'd probably rather read that than horny dragons. Just about finished with Of War and Ruin and have been very happy with the series so far. I think it was either on Johan's or Petriks channels, or both, that I'd heard of that so thanks for that recommendation. Both Powder Mage and Guns of the Dawn were great reads and if you like flintlock you might like Django Wexler's Shadow Campaigns. There's another underrated series that might be right up Johan's street and that's The Legacy trilogy by Matthew Ward. Very dark, high stakes, great chararacters and world building
FunFantasyBooks are there many authors writing fantasy books in Spanish? I’m asking since as far as I can tell Booktubers from none English-speaking countries, when talking about fantasy books, tend to talk about books by either American or British authors, whether they read them in English or in translation. How true do you think that is?
What do you mean throw the book? I was not aware you were a book abuser behind the scenes! I have had Bone Ships for a while but everybody keeps scaring me away from it by talking about how difficult it is to get into! I'll definitely try the Combat Codes, it seems like something I'd love!
Hahaha NOTE however how I instinctively I react with “NO” when asked about throwing Fireborne! I of course meant, to gently drop the book into the floor 👀! Same! I really want to read Combat Codes as well!!
Combat Codes sucked me in, really addictive because of the fight scenes. I think men would enjoy it more than women, or is that genderist? I read Neverwhere a long time ago. I loved it but I thought it was kind of a difficult read. Isa has Rafael Nadal eyes. Thank you.
Thank you so much for having me.on the channel and for being such an amazing host! Hopefully we can come back and visit someday!
It was such a pleasure to have you! I had so much fun both filming and editing this video! I hope people enjoy it as much as we did! ✨✨
Last week, I read a book called 'From Nightmares to Sweet Dreams' by Jestin Johny, and I think it's underrated.
Would love to see more collabs in the booktube community. And more recs from you guys! Ninth Rain looks right up my alley
Happy reading to both of you!!
Thank you so much!!

You both definitely gave some books to look for my next trip to the library.@@FunFantasyBooks

Ok, I’m taking your advice. I just ordered The Bone Ships and Fireborne. Loved the collaboration.
Yes! Please come back to let me know how you feel about Fireborne!
Great selection! Threadlight is one of my favorite series of all time!
Ahhh I really need to give it a go soon!!
I really need to read Fireborne.
Please do!!
Same!
I loved the Winnowing Flame Trilogy and the Aurelian Cycle. I'm currently reading the Drowning Empire. Others have been added to my TBR.

I see a lot of the same recommendations in your videos and they are on my TBR, but I'd love to hear about some new ones😀😀💙💙

I loved the shirt! Great collab y'all :)
Thank you!! Hahah his shirt is amazing! Just as much as he is!
Okay that tshirt, I think every reader needs it, just to show their real original situation 😂😂
P.s - love the video as usual.
Hahahah we definitely all need one!! Thank you! So happy you enjoyed it!
This was so fun! I love that you guys have different opinions too.
Thank you!! we did have a blast together!! And yeah haha we have a slightly different taste!

Thank you for the recs Joe! I really appreciate them! Fireborne is way more political, and no sexy times! It is brilliant to be honest!

Noted!! thank you for the recommendation!
New books added to tbr😂
Hahaha yay!!! That’s the dream Suman!!
Hmm after I got half off sale book?
STEAL THE DOG JOHAN! Great video and picks
