Peter Green's Original Fleetwood Mac...love it love it love it. Was listening to this album in the late sixties. First concert, not sure. It would have been in the same time frame, 69-70. B. B. King, Jefferson Airplane, Siegal Shwall Blues Band, MIghty Joe Young, Jethro Tull, or Country Joe and the Fish. Wasn't the first, but I also saw The Grateful Dead at the Electric Theatre. Between sets, the band would walk around the room and visit with the concert goers.. Jerry Garcia approached me and a couple of friends and lit up a "j" and passed it around. Now that's a memory. Angela, you are a great teacher, but PLEASE invest in a couple of hair clips! It's really distracting. Greetings from Chicago!
After all these years you have taught me you can’t play anything fast you can’t play slow, and it works. Great lesson looking forward to the next one you have a great teaching way 😁
I don't understand why she is so good at teaching and has so few followers. But people who upload ridiculous videos without any teaching have millions of followers. She deserves millions of followers
First concert: The Beatles (Olympia Stadium, Detroit 1964). I was 12. The original Fleetwood Mac was my favorite band of the 60s. I saw them twice at the Grande Ballroom in Detroit in '68 and '69 and once at a tiny club called Silverbell. With friends I drove through the worst blizzard of my life to get there. Only 15 kids turned out for the concert but Fleetwood Mac played anyway. Afterward they hung out with all of us for about an hour. I met them all. An indelible experience. Love your music. All the best, Rob
Wow, that’s impressive!! Fellow Michigander here. I think the Rockets did the best version of this song. Loved watching them perform with Johnny B Badanczek on drums, Jim McCarty on lead guitar and Dave Gilbert singing vocals.
My first concert was MC5 and Iggy Pop and the Stooges at the Eastown Theater in Detroit. How many people even know who those people were? LOL I have been playing guitar ever since I heard Ry Cooder playing and was hooked forever. Having worked in War zones as an engineer throughout the World my playing took me to my happy place. Thanks Angela for what you do
Thanks, love this! First concert: Monsters of Rock Saturday, September 3, 1983 Blue Öyster Cult Meat Loaf Motörhead Saxon Thin Lizzy Twisted Sister Whitesnake
One of the best thinks you do, which has helped me a lot, is your attitude when you make a mistake. I live in dreaded fear about making mistakes and I have been playing a very, very long time. This problem has plagued me all of my life. You just simply laugh and carry on. You have taught me well grasshopper.
1st concert was Jimi Hendrix at the Jahrhundert Halle in Frankfurt, Germany in 1969. I was in 10th grade. I’m in Central Oregon Coast in Waldport now. Keep on rock in’!
3-10. (GMT) Best online tutor I have ever seen. Progress through some very complex riffs is perfect for me. I have played pretty solidly for more than 20 years. I was also a high school teacher for 20 years and Angela is in my opinion not only an accomplished guitarist but more importantly a VERY GOOD teacher. Amazing! Taught me an awful lot! P.s I have never bothered to comment on any UA-cam video - ever. The fact I felt moved to do so to this should tell you something! (sounds very British when I say it like that ) it always seems to intrigue this very pretty and talented teacher where we are. Dave from Scotland (still part of the UK) 1/7/24 (7th January 2024)
I always thought that this riff was pure magic that could only be played by the late Peter Green. Thanks for breaking it down so well. Oh, first concert? Beatles 1966, Candlestick Park, San Francisco. I was 14.
Fantastic lesson, Angela! I haven't found anyone else who's broken down this essential blues-rock song as well as you did. Here's how good your lesson is: I can play it now after days of trying on my own and getting it wrong! My first concert was the Yardbirds in Tacoma on May 17, 1968 with Jimmy Page, almost exactly a year before I saw Page with Led Zeppelin in Seattle at the Green Lake Aqua Theater, where they were second-billed to Three Dog Night, which was at that point a better band than Led Zep. On May 29, 1968, less than two weeks after I saw the Yardbirds in Tacoma, I saw Cream in Seattle at Eagles Auditorium. Those were the days!
Hey awesome channel. I'm in philly, pa. My first concert was, Johnny cash, 1975 at the Philadelphia civic center. My first concert that changed my life as a musician was 1979, philly spectrum Joe Walsh.
Yes, the iconic riff in Oh Well has always been my favourite riff of all time! First concert was Ten Years After at Dunstable, circa 1970, with Wishbone Ash opening up for them. I loved the guitar dual between Alvin Lee and Leo Lyons.
I have only been playing for 3 years but Angela'slessons are the first time I don't have to slow things down, lots of content covered when you replay and feel how efficient she teaches...put in an hour already today...thanks so much, Angela.
I am changing two words in my last comments, Angela is beautiful and the most wonderful teacher I have ever learned from best wishes Kinnon (SCOTLAND).
Awesome again Angela, Utah. 1976, Aerosmith on heroin, AC/DC with Bon Scott on vocals warmed up and the Salt Lake crowd booed! It was crazy ! AC/DC was great !
You’re the best guitar instructor I’ve found to date. Great and effective teaching style. I’m hearing you here in Michigan, the water winter wonderland. My first concert was Jethro Tull, at Detroits acoustically perfect Cobo Arena.
I’ve been playing for quite a few years, I try to develop finger memory, but this can only be achieved with practice. Great lesson, thanks for posting, stop looking at your phones kids & play guitar.
Hey Angela, you are such a great teacher. Thank you. I'm an Irishman living in London, UK. My first concert, since you asked, was Sparks in Edinburgh, 1974. 😆😎
Longbranch (Toronto) I find it much harder to play it slow as apposed to fast. You’d be a great neighbour! Lol Oh! First concert; Outdoor concert 1970 with Humble Pie, Black Sabbath, Three Dog Night and quite a few others. I think it was $3 admission.
I love how you’re really teaching technique, and the song is a bonus. It’s a great way to learn skills, as well as learning the song. Definitely have to work on my guitar face! First concert was Van Halen in 1981 in Pittsburgh (not counting the Beach Boys with my parents a few years before that!)
Great lesson Angela. Fleetwood Mac was one of the first blues groups I ever heard in the early sixties. My first concert was the Rolling Stones at the Swing Auditorium in San Bernardino, CA on June 5, 1964. It was the Stones very first concert in the U.S. The promoter almost landed the Beatles for that night, but the booking fell through at the last minute and the Stones got the gig. It was pretty amazing - once the first few chords were played, the girls began screaming and we couldn't hear the rest of the song.
Paul From Lordship Ct. My first convert was Emerson Lake and Palmer in NewHaven Ct. 1970.... Thank you for teaching me one of my favorite tunes. Play On !
Tuning in from Halifax, England, my first concert was Queen + Adam Lambert at the nearby Leeds Arena (yes I am younger than some might assume think) been a fan of Peter for a few years now, my personal favourite is Man Of The World, as Neil Finn said before he covered it London a few years ago sad, tender and truthful and for anyone who’s been in a similar situation incredibly relatable.
2:35 in chattanooga-just picked up a new Martin 12 string, and i just discovered you-i’m 70, and grew up hearing the songs you teach! You are a Pearl girl!!
From British Columbia, I cant remember my first concert...lol, I think my first big one was THE WHO..., but went to many small concerts at the Comador in Vancouver BC, a lot of blues BB King, Willy Dickson..., saw Stevie RayVaughan, three times there..., seen The Stones, Bowie, Clapton, Alice Cooper, MellenCamp, Randy Bachmann, John Fogerty....Moody Blues...? so many..., Thank you I have been trying to play since I was a kid..., start, stop, start stop..., I'll get it one day!!, thank you again Angela. your very good!
Great lesson, as always. I just wish you or other teachers would go into the second part of Oh Well, as it is on the album. It's a very long, drawn out acoustic piece that's just magical. It almost sounds like something out of an old 1960s-70s Italian-made Western. But so many just do the beginning part, and yours is one of the better ones as it really goes into technique.
Even for many experienced guitarists this riff is quite challenging, it is good to see this breakdown, it helps a lot and Angela offers other great advice that can be used throughout all our guitar playing and not just this riff. Thank you , great tutorial,
Segovia in St Petersburg, FL late 60's. Absolutely astonded at the movement of both hands. Also love Mystery to Me with Peter Green and Fleetwood Mac. Bare trees is pretty good too.
Hi Angela, it's a year and a half since you posted this video. First concert... Hmmmm Vanilla Fudge... 1967 or 68. They played at my day camp when I was 13 or 14 years old. Sold me on playing rock and roll, and have played guitar ever since! This song, Oh Well, I first heard around 1969 I think... I couldn't play it then. Way to advanced for me. BUT.... in the past years, it has become a tune I love to jam on with my buds here in PA and NYC. We are old, we are worn out, but our guitars are all vintage and well played by seasoned musicians.... Nice job on the video. I had to learn it by ear, then watching a live video from 1969 gave me hints at the three parts being played... Once you got it, you have it for life! WAIT!!! I forgot, my Dad's buddy took us kids to a Rolling Stones concert in 65 in Philly. Front Row! I was 10 years old. I wanted to see the Beatles and was mad about going to see The Stones. Do the kids a lesson on Mick Jagger's Moonlight Mile... That should get the kids rockin in a smooth bluesy way.
Great stuff . Love your style. From Adelaide in Australia. My first concert was Slade in 1974 at MemorialDrive when I was 13. I can’t believe my mum let me go!
Good morning, Angela. Live at the Jersey Shore. Born and bred in Brooklyn. First concert was Gordon Lightfoot at Jones Beach Theater. Favorite band.,.Dire Straits. Favorite Guitarist is Mark Knopfler. Have seen him live four times, twice with DS. He is a superb and unique guitarist. Seeing him live is a sublime experience.
Your a great teacher and very good player Angela. I am in UK learned the first bit of this riff in early 70s but now realised I missed out a bit. First concert Beatle's 1964 Liverpool Empire theatre. Think they only had AC30s and a small PA. All the girls were screaming so loud it was impossible to hear them. Unless you screamed yourself I soon discovered. As someone already mentioned your teaching really good technique as well as the song . Thank You. 🙏
Hi, I'm watching this video from Germany, but grew up in the Midwest. My first real concert was Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band in the late 70's. The opening group was called Rocket, and one of the songs they played was (dah dah daaaah) Oh Well by Fleetwood Mac. First time I'd ever heard that tune, but I loved it so much that, decades later, when I was in a band of my own, I convinced my bandmates to do our own cover of the song. It's a more intricate piece than most people realize, but that's part of what makes it so great. Thanks for breaking it down for we amateurs. 👍👍👍😏😏😏
This riff I played at the age of sixteen often times (very favorite but not perfect as you can understand) , age multiplied by ten:... NOW it can become perfect, thanks to YOUR teachings here. Loved it, really improved it, fastness becomes something natural.
I’m from NYC. My first rock concert was the Steve Miller Band in 1970. My first concert was probably the Hartford Symphony when I was younger. I love your lessons ❤
I even played Oh well in a few metal bands I was in, however I always like it best when using a LP or Tele through a dimed Fender Deluxe reverb with a treble boost.
62 year old beginner six months now . I enjoy your teaching methods . My first concert was three dog night at the Tampa Stadium in the early seventies . I don’t think that I will ever be near as good as you are but I am having fun . I am in the Lexington Kentucky area .
Tuning in from a remote village in the French Pyrenees near Lourdes, which somehow has bizarrely fast fibre internet...and chickens, lots of chickens. First concert (small) The Hamsters Band, The Cartoon Pub, Croydon, Southwest London. (big) Pink Floyd, Knebworth or U2 Wembley Stadium. Can’t remember. Peter Green once played part of Oh Well on a guitar I was checking out in a guitar shop (GAK)for me. David Gilmour was my neighbour in Hove,UK. Nick Cave crashed his Jag into the speed trap on Kingsway Hove. I arrived here because I have had Fleetwood Mac CD in the car for the last few days and i’m looking for another guitar and amp. Possibly a Tele, Revstar,LP. Need help.
Detroit. First concert- Fridged Pink. (House of the rising sun) 1974. Thx. You fill in the holes and cure me of bad habits of 40+ on and off of playing.
Angela , you have stolen my heart with all your grace and humility! Thanks so much for your inspiration , talent and patience! So much more to be explored!
We are in Japan _ I am from the UK, my family is Japanese. The first real concert I went to was a concert in Bristol - UK - Headlined by James Taylor, supported by Carol King. It was around the time of the Mud Slide Slim and Tapestry albums. The very early 70s.....That night influenced how I have played all my life. Just so good. Thanks for the vid.....love from the Hokuriku area of Japan.
From Poulsbo WA, first concert Dave Brubeck Quintet @ The Aphitheatre Green Lake 1963. One of the best all time guitarists Peter Green IMO (along with J. Spencer) made FM before they went pop. I love her teaching style, breaks everything down so its manageable
"THE ROLLING STONES" 93' WEMBLEY, LONDON.. PISSIN' RAIN TILL I ENTERED THE STADIUM.. THE SUN BURSTS THROUGH THE CLOUDS.. RAY BANS OFF!.. THE BLACK CROWES SUPPORTIN'.. LAST DATE OF THE WORLD TOUR.. BLEW ME AWAY!.. STILL! THE TWO GREATEST BANDS TOGETHER! .. AAND I STARTED THE CROWD CHANTING THE BANDS NAMES! GOOD OL'CHARLIE MODEST AS EVER! SEEN THEM MANY TIMES.. AND IT IS STILL THEE ONE TO BEAT! KEEP ON ROLLIN '.. JUST FOR THIS YEAR .. REALITY'S A B HATCH!
I'm from golden Colorado. First concert was Akron Ohio. Saw joe Walsh on his 18th birthday with the james gang. They opened for steppenwolf. Thanks for the good stuff you put out.
Your advice spot on. I can compare that with a golf swing. So many people want to step up and blast it, but it takes slow learning and gradual increase in muscle memory to make a smooth swing and contact the ball exactly as required with effortless grace. Great lessons!
Learning guitar really opened my mind to music of all genres and introduced me to Peter Green of Fleetwood Mac. Such a talented guitarist with such great tone. Great lesson - really enjoyed it 👍
I've only just found you brilliant i am a guitarist but just left all the gigging so catching up with some stuff that I've forgotten you teach very well im 70 now but still want to keep my hand in this is great for me so thank you im from south wales uk x
Thank you Angela. I had a garage band (joined a garage band) in 1969. My first “Concert” was actually called a matinee’ N. Hollywood theatre’s that had plays at night. I was there to photograph “The Turtles” and “The Association”. Getty images hired me from high school darkroom class, to photograph in available light (no strobes)…. pretty soon there after was the “Yard Birds” - debut of “Three Dog Night”. They let me into the dressing room to photograph and HAVE A BEER (!) I was 17 years old. having a beer with 3 dog night. (!). Then I got into the “pit” between front row and the stage to photograph CREAM (!). I knew they were very good.
I've tuned the base E-snare to D! and tried to improvise on O Well ( a little trickier because of the little finger that has to stretch, one has to be careful...) it opened quite new perspectives!
You had 666 comments which I thought was perhaps a bad omen?! So I thought I'd add a comment to take you in to safer territory as number 667. All will be well now! This has always done my head in, this song & its riff, but I have come back to it as it's just so brilliant. I had accidentally slowed you down to 75% so you sounded very drunk indeed which was quite funny, and then when you made that little mistake just after the 11 min mark, that seemed to fit with that very well. Lovely stuff! I have since played the video at correct speed and I think - must stress, think - I may have got it. You were also very clearly not under the influence of too much booze, so well done. Praise be! So, thank you very much indeed. Enjoyed the video and I am grateful for your clear instruction, Angela. So yes, thanks and cheers from me in England! PT x
Thanks for everything, greetings from Framlingham Suffolk UK ( Ed Sheeran's town) 1st concert Bowie doing Ziggy Stardust in London - oh and was lucky enough to see the GREAT Peter Green play in south London. x

First concert was the Beatles in 1964 at the Convention Center in Las Vegas.
Thank You. 🙏
Riff 1: 10:21
Riff 2: 15:35

Brilliant lesson...I'm all the way from Scotland...and my first concert was Thin Lizzy at Kirkcaldy Ice Rink in 1981...what a band... :)
I keep coming back to your lesson right here which never gets old. Cheers!
You're a great teacher Angela . I'm from Ohio and my first rock concert was Styx.
I even played Oh well in a few metal bands I was in, however I always like it best when using a LP or Tele through a dimed Fender Deluxe reverb with a treble boost.
Devon UK - Emerson Lake and Palmer - St Georges Hall Liverpool - Great tutelage by the way
I saw them in Toronto a long time ago. They were truly great
62 year old beginner six months now .
Led Zeppelin, nothing but the best , Houston 1969 ! 👍

Very detailed breakdown of a great song. Very talented, energetic, inspirational teacher. Thank you.
Angela is awesome....
Great lesson - really enjoyed it 👍
First concert was The JAMES GANG. One bad ass concert for a first.
South Carolina. Simon & Garfunkel Giants Stadium 1981

You can play!!!! Well intentioned practice makes perfect. Don't forget to enjoy the journey! =)
I love playing this song ! First concert Robin Trower Summer of 74 . Found you on Norms - Your expressions are captivating 💫
I've tuned the base E-snare to D! and tried to improvise on O Well ( a little trickier because of the little finger that has to stretch, one has to be careful...) it opened quite new perspectives!
You are just THE best. I have a Fishman system in my Guild F2512 and I agree, Fishman is awesome.
Oh Well was one of the few 45''s i ever bought!
PT x
