When I was losing hope of great rock and metal in the US, I came upon this band over 2 years ago now and my faith was restored in metal music. They are metal queens🤘
I chanced upon this song about three years ago on YT n I fell in love with LB ever since n I'm still in love with them. I'm 60 years old n have been listening to heavy metal n rock music. LB is the best thing that happened to me in more than forty years. There's no band that performs live like LB. You have world class musicians that is pure energy n fun to watch- simply amazingly talented
We discovered them here, on this show approximately a year-and-a-half ago. We totally agree with everything you wrote. They are truly legends in the making!
Absolutely true, best Metal since _decades_ . 🤷♂ I was introduced to Lovebites' music several months ago, in another YT channel. I owe him for that. A few Lovebites songs later, I _knew_ that we experience music history in the making: "Something _amazing_ , _outstanding_ is happening here." It is like discovering "Iron Maiden" in the 1980s, or "Queen" or "The Beatles" when they rose. And please mind: I had only just discovered the _songs_ and was already taken by them. Later, I also found out about the musicians themselves, their skills and their individual CVs, and the amazement continued. Weeks later, I was also introduced to "Nemophila", but that is another story. 🙂
One of my favorites from them. This was the song that made me fall in love with the band. I had seen Holy War first. I really liked it, but still wasn't sure what to think, beyond being amazed by their skill. Watched this and then that was it. I knew I had discovered one of the greatest metal bands of all time, and my favorite band. Awakening/Hammer of Wrath from this same show is like that too, in that it opens with exposition. Thunder Vengeance opened the show. Awakening opened the encore. Check it out, even if you checked out Hammer of Wrath from 2023 (pretty sure you did). I like the 2020 version better.
Three years ago this was my immediate 2nd viewing of LOVEBITES after a recommendation for Set the World on Fire. I was already amazed before I viewed this one. Then I was yelling at my computer "who the F!#@$ are these ladies!?!?!?" If I had been at this show without even knowing what I was about to witness, I would have been losing my 57yo metalhead mind. Overnight became my favorite metal band.
This song is from the "Five Of A Kind - Live In Tokyo 2020" held by LOVEBITES at Zepp DiverCity Tokyo on February 21, 2020. Available in digital, cd, dvd and blu ray format. Please subscribe to their channel (if you haven't): ua-cam.com/channels/90wxogt_sQrP0Os0HT-xuw.html The setlist is: 1.Thunder Vengeance 2.Holy War 3.Don’t Bite The Dust 4.Rising 5.Raise Some Hell 6.Break The Wall 7.Shadowmaker 8.Piano Solo (Etude Op.10, No.12) 9.Swan Song 10.Addicted 11.Dancing With The Devil 12.Signs Of Deliverance 13.M.D.O. 14.Golden Destination 15.When Destinies Align Encore. 16.The Awakening 17.The Hammer Of Wrath 18.Edge Of The World 19.We The United
What I like about Lovebites is this meticulous live perfection. Plus this songwriting and arranging the songs. All the licks, drops and transitions that every Lovebites song has. I've never heard anything like that and it's fantastic. And, I see it from a producer's perspective. That's mind-blowing for me. Not only are they all fantastic musicians, no, they are also fantastic songwriters who write almost all of their songs themselves. It's like I've been waiting for a band like this my whole life. Incomprehensible. I'm always completely fascinated by every song. And I hate metal like the plague. But that? WTF
Thanks for your reaction. 'Thunder Vengeance' is Miho's song (lyrics-Miho / music - Miho, Mao). A little over a year ago, I told you a little, in general terms, the story of Miho. The death of her father (August 2018, performing LOVEBITES in Europe, at major rock festivals) greatly affected Miho. Miho's departure from LOVEBITES is due to the consequences of these events. You are right, Miho put personal feelings (lyrics) into this song. Did you notice that Miho comes forward at 11:05 and starts singing (without a microphone) along with Asami? This concert took place at the end of February 2020, when the Covid-19 pandemic had already swept the world. In Japan, people began to get sick and die. Remember this time and what was shown on TV. 'Thunder Vengeance' is the first song from the 'Electric Pentagram' Album (January 2020). With 'Thunder Vengeance' begins the LOVEBITES concerts on this tour. Note the black bandages on each woman's left arm. The ladies played the first song in jackets with black bandages on their left arm. Before the second song of the concert ('Holy War'), they took off their jackets with black bandages and remained in dresses until the end of the concert. I can't say with 100% certainty, but it looks like the ladies wore jackets with black armbands (for the first song) in memory of the victims of Covid-19. Mourning bands are not worn on bare arms (all the ladies had sleeveless dresses). That's why the ladies wore jackets over their dresses while performing 'Thunder Vengeance'. Due to the pandemic, the last 3 concerts were postponed and rescheduled.
Well maybe its time to come to there last Concert "Knocking at Heavens Gate" There the Energy exploded after being not able to perform for nearly 2 Years
I have a ticket to see LOVEBITES live in London on the 14th June. Travelling from Scotland and delighted to have the opportunity to see an incredible band live
Great review guys! Lovebites have so many awesome songs! Even though I have all their releases, DVDs, you name it, hearing these tracks is still a great joy! 🤘🎸🐺

Between these two awesome bands, plus Nemophila, the Japanese revolution is slowly but surely rewriting rock and metal music history.
I enjoyed your reaction to this great song. I especially liked your addition of the little video clips. For me, one thing that distinguishes this song from their other is the vocal melody.
Great reaction guys! Your explanation of the lyrics is right on point. Miho and Miyako singing the words "Do It'' several times always reminds me of Judas Priest when they went to trial for recording a backward message on their song "Better By You Better Than Me". Maybe you know the legal problems the band went through. "Thunder Vengeange " is the opening song from their "Five of a Kind" concert video and their "Electric Pentagram" album. I love FAMI but I miss Miho's passion and heart for metal in Lovebites. Don't get me wrong, the band is more than amazing now, but to see Miho play is always amazing. She's a true metalhead!
I agree that Miho was by FAR the biggest metalhead in the band. This is entirely subjective, but I think Fami is actually a better fit for LOVEBITES than Miho was.
@@1970Phoenix Miho is definitely better suited to LOVEBITES in all respects: as a bassist, as a songwriter, as a leader and the brain of the band. Fami is a good bass player, but not a metalhead. Just listen to Fami's pop songs that she wrote for her solo album and compare them to Miho's songs. Conditionally:'Laughing Rabbit' Fami against 'Metal Wolf' Miho who has extensive experience playing in different metal bands! The Albums with Miho were more varied and interesting, as Miho determined the direction of the band's development. The last Album is affected by Miho's absence. There was too much Mao on him. If it were not for Miyako's music (3 songs - Miyako and 1 song - Miyako & Asami from the 10 songs of the 'Judgement Day' Album), then LOVEBITES would have turned into a copy of such Japanese bands as: LIGHT BRINGER, LONESOME_BLUE or EAST OF EDEN. These are the bands for which Mao writes music, that is, he is the main composer of these bands. The bands are good, but there are many such bands in Japan. LOVEBITES with Miho was a phenomenon in the Japanese metal world. Thanks to Miho, LOVEBITES stood out among other metal bands.
Hi Guys! I'm glad the ladies are back on the channel again! Yes, you're right; this was the opening to the concert. They only had those jackets on for this song. The next song was "Holy War" (which you reacted to) and they had taken them off already. They have worn them a few times since, but not very often. For example, the wore them in the music video for "Winds of Transylvania." Take care, and be safe.
To think they don't do a ton of thrash but when they do it, it's elite and pristine. Certainly Big 4 level if not better. Can picture commercial with the most interesting man in the world with the caption "I don't listen to thrash metal often, but when I do, you bet your ass it's Lovebites". Great reaction guys! 🤘
Yes, this is the opening of the LoveBites concert in February 2020 (the beginning of the Covid-19 Pandemic). At the end of January 2020, LoveBites released the Album "Electric Pentagram". A projection of the Pentagram (the protective amulet with which the LoveBites protect the traditions of true Heavy Metal) with the heads of 5 🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺(5 members of the band) from this Album was shown before the start of the song. "Thunder Vengeance" is the first song on the Album. In my opinion "Electric Pentagram" is the best LoveBites Album, containing 12 excellent songs of different styles that fit perfectly together on the Album!🤘
As always, your emotions on your faces say it all! I love your reaction videos. I never read the lyrics to this song. So interested to hear your thoughts on the lyrics! Thank you for the video! More Lovebites on the channel!
To me, this song and this performance will always belong to Miho. Although the song is officially cowritten by Miho and Mao, my feeling is that this is almost all Miho (she wrote the main riff after seeing Slayer in concert). The lyrics have that typical Miho darkness. Watching Miho do her full body headbanging while playing gets to me every time, as does her singing her own lyrics. For the three shows that Lovebites was able to perform in 2021 (Miho's last three with Lovebites) this was an encore song. Lovebites has not performed the song since. They may also feel that the song belongs to Miho.
Thanks for the nice words about Miho! Sorry, but I want to clarify. The main author (chords, theme music, melody, etc.) of all her songs was Miho. Mao, with all due respect to him, only helped as a co-author. In 2021, LOVEBITES played 4 concerts : Nagoya, Yokohama, Tokyo and Osaka (March 12 - April 2).
@@GrayFox14 You're right. The last concert of the 2021 Tour was not in Tokyo. The last concert took place in Osaka. The third concert was recorded in Tokyo. The meeting of the ladies with their team took place after the fourth concert in Osaka (the last concert of the Tour 2021).
The main authors of the music are members of the LoveBites. Miho and Midori came up with the main melody for their songs. Mao only helped in writing the music. Mao's contribution to music writing has been exaggerated. The ladies composed some of their music during trips and tours. Mao was not around at that time.
@@GrayFox14 I was going by the Setlist website which lists only 3 shows in 2021 but it does look like the Nagoya show is missing on Setlist. As far as Mao's contribution to songs, I have no personal knowledge as to the inner workings of Lovebites songwriting and I doubt anyone else that comments here has personal knowledge. I have also not read interviews that give that information for every Mao connected song. For Thunder Vengeance, there are interviews that suggest that Miho was the driving force of the song. I am not, however, comfortable in making a blanket statement regarding every song in which Mao is a co-composer and co-arranger. I do know that Mao has an ownership interest in every song in which he is a co-composer and gets paid royalties both as a co-composer and a co-arranger. I also know that Miyako respects Mao very much as a composer.
One hell of an intro, Huh!!! Harua is at FULL Speed. They take the jackets off later in the concert. The armbands are the type worn by student leaders. Atarashii Gakko wears wears them with their school costumes.
Hey guys!

LOVEBITES - Thunder Vengeance lyrics:
Gods of vengeance
Standing in the nightmare
The peal of thunder broke me and more
When losing my eye
The days will pass before me
A faded memory of what used to be
Death by oblivion (Do it)
Deadly criterion (Do it)
Flames of despair burning
My blood is boiling inside me
Death by oblivion (Do it)
Deadly criterion (Do it)
Inner enraged demon is becoming me
Here come days of revenge
Until the day the light can reach into my blind eye
Lost in the rage
These scars are here to tell me that I’m still alive
Into the blackness
Don’t reveal weakness
Hiding my curses, pay off an old grudge
Forgotten feelings, other than resentment
Don’t even mind giving others pain
Damn the redemption (Do it)
Drowning confusion (Do it)
Doom filled with righteous indignation
Where’s my salvation?
Damn the redemption (Do it)
Drowning confusion (Do it)
Does my life have meaning?
Am I a speck of dust?
I’ve got blood on my hands
I want to claw and tear you, rip apart your name
Die in the sands
Your sins will never be erased or washed away
SOLO: midori / haruna
Beaten down but the hatred’s growing
Rotten pain that is never healing
Only I can end my suffering
I won’t kneel down because of yesterday
Gods of vengeance
Standing in the nightmare
The peal of thunder broke me and more
When losing my eye
The days will pass before me
A faded memory of what used to be
Death by oblivion (Do it)

Yes, this is the opening of the LoveBites concert in February 2020 (the beginning of the Covid-19 Pandemic). At the end of January 2020, LoveBites released the Album "Electric Pentagram". I never read the lyrics to this song. So interested to hear your thoughts on the lyrics!
Thank you for the video! More Lovebites on the channel!
Of course it was the show opener, did you not see the curtain drop?
This song’s riff is like Master of puppets.
Also this song is influenced by Slayer.
Thunder Vengeance is like a uppercut by Mike Tyson. You're already K.O. after the first song of the show !

The main authors of the music are members of the LoveBites. Miho and Midori came up with the main melody for their songs. Mao only helped in writing the music. Mao's contribution to music writing has been exaggerated. The ladies composed some of their music during trips and tours. Mao was not around at that time.
@@mamoru1412 Thank you. Many people think that the last concert in 2021 was in Tokyo because the recording of this concert was released on DVD/Blu-ray
Very nice review, thank you! My suggestion still is Vintersea: Lonesome Tide
It's on the list.
Thank you for taking the time to view and engage. Much appreciated!
Next please Reaction 510 Alive, Rock Band From Indonesian
One hell of an intro, Huh!!! Harua is at FULL Speed. They take the jackets off later in the concert. The armbands are the type worn by student leaders. Atarashii Gakko wears wears them with their school costumes.
