I had both knees partially replaced in 2014 and 2015. I’ve been working out for a few years off and on but the last year 4-5 times a week. I haven’t found any videos on what leg exercises not to do. I’m using resistance bands and doing squats, hamstring exercises and leg extensions. Would appreciate some of these videos
Thanks for watching and I hope you found this video helpful! This is a great idea and I’m going to now make a video about “what exercises NOT to do” in the next upcoming weeks! I appreciate your support and commenting on the channel!
Dr Mike - I need help. I am a 72yr old. I had my TKR on 27 April 2024 and have done all my Physiotherapy and I continue to do my home exercises. My scar healed quickly. I have had to return to work after 3 months off (as a Manual Order Picker) on modified duties which are ‘no heavy lifting, no standing for more than 30 minutes and no walking for 40 minutes or more. I have had to cut my hours of work to 5 hours a day. I find the swelling and stiffness is more pronounced after standing or walking within the prescribed time limits, although I do not have any pain. I need your advise please.
Thanks for taking the time to watch this one! Hope you found this video helpful! Sounds like your recovery went well and I’m happy to hear you completed all your physical therapy because that can be very helpful! Swelling and stiffness after long periods of standing and walking is normal at this point. Your body is trying to find its new way to adapt to a brand new knee. No pain is a positive sign and I would continue to focus on maintaining your flexibility with the stretching a couple times a week if you can!
