- Gran Turismo - that's what Audi's flagship is build for. But it got another side: Powerful dynamic. Although it's not a light weight (kerb weight 1955 kg). I've taken the challenge and put drive select on "Dynamic" - which means: hardened steering, musculous sound, stiffened chassis. The 8-speed tiptronic also wearing sporty ambitions while staying in S-Modus. So, let's see what this entry-level Diesel can do!

That time I drove an A7 - and a little bit faster than here. So - is the 245hp A7 really faster? Not for sure, but the A7 was equipped with S-Line package and summer tires. That might explain it's higher grade of stability.

Der Audi A8 als größtes Pferd im Ingolstädter Stall ist der prädestinierte Langstreckengleiter dieser Marke. Aber auch die Dynamik macht er sich trotz seiner stattlichen Leermasse (1955 kg) gern zu Eigen. Also: drive select auf Dynamik gestellt (beeinflusst Antrieb, Fahrwerk und Lenkung), die 8-Gang-Tiptronic in den sportlichen S-Modus geschickt und ab geht die flotte Fahrt!

Dort spulte ich die Distanz allerdings schneller ab - ist der A7 nun schneller? Mitnichten! Beide nehmen sich nicht viel: Der A8 wiegt nur 60 kg mehr und übertrumpft den A7 um 10 kW (13 PS). Die schnellen Kurvenfahrten vermittelten im A7 aber ein sichereres Gefühl, der A8 rollte dagegen bereits auf Winterreifen.

Großes Lob an den Fahrer. Sehr diszipliniert und vorausschauend gefahren. Kein Drängeln, immer genug Sicherheitsabstand. Kein Vergleich mit vielen anderen "Ich fahr schnell auf der Autobahn"-Videos hier bei YT. Da würde ich auch gern mitfahren -als Beifahrer natürlich. :D

Richtig vorausschauend mit 250 in die Kurve gefahren. 2 Fahrzeuge auf 2 Spuren hintereinander, wenn der hintere mit 150 rauszieht, was machst du dann?

German Autobahn was specially constructed to drive fast. There is a lil tilt into the inside in each corner which makes it possible to be fast in the corners too.

Its amazing how qickly it goes from 150 to 200 (not to say from 50 - 150) ... And quiet machine, I hear mostly wind swish by. And 250 is like totally effortless. And I just now realised, it is a 3L diesel! Cannot believe it.

A perfect fit for German Autobahn! 👍 It's not even work to drive fast. You want to go 200 or more because it feels right and comfortable in those cars.

14:22 the engine control light comes on after few seconds. That's when you get to know, this master piece A8 isn't made for that
I don't know what happened there. The car was totally fine, I've driven a lot of miles after that without any problems. Actually, it shouldn't be an issue to drive one hour or more at full speed.

Germany always impresses me. They pay so much in taxes and that for the highway infrastructure. The autobahn was engineered to race on. You can make any quick maneuver confidently. They pay so much money keeping that high way maintained because you can NOT hit a pot hole at 200km/h. Bravo Germany! I can't wait to visit.
Deutschland beeindruckt mich immer. Sie zahlen so viel Steuern und das für die Autobahninfrastruktur. Die Autobahn wurde für das Rennen ausgelegt. Sie können jedes schnelle Manöver sicher ausführen. Sie zahlen so viel Geld, um diesen hohen Weg aufrechtzuerhalten, weil man mit 200 km / h KEIN Schlagloch treffen kann. Bravo Deutschland! Ich kann es kaum erwarten zu besuchen.

Was für ein ruhiges Auto und die 258 PS scheinen wirklich vollkommen auszureichen.
Einfach Oberklasse. Auch ich muss eingestehen, dass die 258 PS völlig ausreichen - man ist eigentlich immer schneller, als man sein muss. Eine Vergleichsfahrt mit einem BMW 740d xDrive (313 PS) hat auch gezeigt, dass der A8 da noch ganz gut mithalten kann. Wer es sich leisten kann, kann ja gern den A8 mit V8-TDI nehmen, aber der ist eben wesentlich teurer und die Fahrleistungen des V6-TDI genügen vollkommen, Klang ist auch in Ordnung.
Außerdem ist der A8 keine Rennmaschine, sondern ein Auto, mit dem man gleitet. 6.0 Sekunden von 0 auf 100 ist denke ich mal auch genug ^^

Danke zunächst einmal. :) Ausgestattet war dieser A8 mit dem Lederpaket, welches das belederte Amaturenbrett beinhaltete (zudem Akustikverglasung).
Tippblinken ist durchaus eine sehr praktische Sache. Mich nervt es aber eher, weil ich in den gewohnten Fahrzeugen eben keine Tippblinkfunktion habe und ich mit aktivierter Tippfunktion immer wieder den Blinker zurücksetzen will und damit in die entgegengesetzte Richtung blinke - und um das zu vermeiden... ;) Außerdem blinke ich gern mal mehr als nur 3 mal, da ich mein Spurwechseln in der Regel immer ankündige und mir dann auch die Zeit nehme, die ich habe. Prinzipiell ist das Tippblinken eine sehr feine Sache, aber ich empfinde sie oft eher hinderlich. Dann z.B., wenn ich den Blinker sofort wieder zurück nehmen würde oder wenn ich einem freundlichen Truckerfahrer danken will.

That was also my feeling und therefore I didn't push that hard. Like you already recognized, the track was exactly the same. But I can give an explantation: The A7 was equipped with high-speed tires (up to 300 km/h) while the A8 stood on soft winter tires with far lower speed index. But during my drive everything was fine, because I reduced the possible speed.

I am thinking of purchasing one of these, I currently have 2006 A6. All that has gone wrong with the A6 was its airflow metre but other than that it was a fine car and I would recommend. I am curious to know is there any faults with these cars? I heard of a few electrical problems and some to do with the suspension. Is there any truth to these issues? Thanks in advance.

Welchen 3.0 Tdi kann man kaufen? Ab BJ 2014? Den 218ps, 245er oder den 272er? Welcher ist weniger anfällig oder macht keine Probleme? Oder gibt's noch nen besseren? Aber kein biturbo
One of the nicest features of an A8 is the retractable center screen, makes the cabin less clutered with info and certainly at night with low light conditions, it makes a big difference to be able to turn it away.

Aber macht nur Spaß/Sinn mit dem 4.2tdi v8.
Der geht doch deutlich besser, und verbraucht auch teils weniger weil weniger Kraftaufwand gefordert ist. (Fahre genau das selbe Modell;)). Fahre meinen auch mit 6/7L.
Aber solange da mind. ein 3.0tdi drin ist, ist es vertretbar. Aber meiner Meinung nach muss da der v8 tdi rein, weil er genauso wirtschaftlich ist wie der v6, dafür aber wesentlich mehr Fahrspaß bietet😅😉.
Dennoch gutes Video, und gut gefahren!.
Danke! Ich hätte auch lieber den V8 gehabt, aber der war damals bei den Vermietern schon nicht wirklich verfügbar und heute gibt es sie gleich gar nicht mehr. Ich halte viel vom V8 TDI, aber der V6 TDI tut es notgedrungen auch. Etwas mehr Leistung wäre schön gewesen. Beim A8 ist es eben der absolute Einstieg und das ist auch richtig so. Gegenwärtig muss man selbst um solche Sechszylinder-Diesel noch froh sein, denn das Angebot schwindet dahin mit der Elektrifizierung. Der A8 3.0 TDI war schwer in Ordnung, aber den BMW 730d (G11) würde ich wohl bevorzugen - besserer Motor, bessere Getriebeabstimmung, besseres Fahrwerk und freie Option, was Allrad ja/nein betrifft. Dafür war der A8 eine Nuance leiser dank Akustikverglasung.
@@exoroxx Allradantrieb gibt es keinen besseren als Quattro.
Der 3.0TDI macht nur Spaß im A4/A6.
Es gibt schon noch genug v8 TDI‘s😅.
Ich fahre nur den 4.2TDI, und als Daily einen 2.5TDI. Der ist genauso schnell wie ein 3L, und sparsamer. Aber passt schon.
@@franzr44 Ich kann nichts Schlechtes über quattro sagen, eher über xDrive. Aber manchmal ist mir ein Solo-Antrieb (vorzugsweise Hinterradantrieb) einfach lieber, da man den Allrad oft nur sinnlos mitschleppt (Mehrgewicht + Mehrverbrauch). Meine Lieblingskombination bleibt bis heute der 2.0 TFSI im A4 B9 mit quattro (Torsen) und Handschaltung. Auch im TT war der quattro (Haldex) eindeutig zu bevorzugen, leider war man dort bei der letzten Modellgeneration zwangsweise an das DSG gekoppelt (der Handschalter machte mir dort aber deutlich mehr Spaß).
Der 3.0 TDI ist auch im A8 okay, wobei er im A4 und A6 natürlich einen etwas besseren Eindruck macht (dort hatte ich aber die Versionen mit 272/286 PS). Den A8 bin ich später auch mit 286 PS gefahren und man kommt schon ausreichend voran, auch wenn er natürlich etwas mehr Anlauf braucht. Wirklich Spaß hat mir aber der S8 Plus (605 PS) gemacht, da kann auch der 4.2 TDI einpacken. 😄
