What an amazing and uplifting series this is turning out to be in such a sad year. It's almost like having Steve sitting in my front room chatting about guitars. Doesn't get much better than that.

Steve, my belated condolences on your loss. I caught this video last night, you were playing Galway Girl, and I realized what happened when you dedicated it. I'm back tonight to play Galway girl with you...I pulled down a gift Washburn mandolin I havent played in years to get it ready for tonight. Played Galway Girl every St Pat's day with a bunch of hoodlum buddies at whatever place would have us. God Bless You, and Your's. What you do here is an amazing gift,;giving of yourself like we were sitting 6' from you. I know I'm not alone in thanking you for all this effort. I really like how you talk about your instruments, and share the stories of origin, and maker, and their place in musical history. All too cool, Steve. Im gonna rewind and play Galway Girl again!

Man, I just knew it when I heard the tone before you put the capo on - ‘Telephone Road’. So goddamn beautiful! Do you remember if you used it in the studio? Thank you, brother. There’s Bullshit on TV going on in America tonight, then there’s you, showing us your wonderful old archtop. You’re a real American hero, and your art has lit my road for decades. I saw you at the Crest Theater in Sacramento, CA, probably in 1984 or so. There were maybe 50 people there - you opened with ‘Copperhead’ on mandolin. One of those old Gibsons? I’m so sorry about Justin. This sucks. He was just brilliant. He reminded me so much of my little sister, who was tender and took flight so young too. I’m sharing tears with you and your family and holding all of you in the light. Peace & Rock on...

Thought I knew a bit about old Gibson's but I didn't know they made many black guitars back then . Everyday is a school day, thanks Steve.

It's cool that you also collect the old budget version guitars. I dig the simplicity of them.......
Thanks, for playing “Telephone Road.” It's one of my favorite tunes from you, not only because of its musicality, but also because of the memories evoked as it takes me back to growing up in Southeast Houston during the 60's and 70's

Andy Reiss and I agree and have talked about that L-10 that George Gruhn has. It's an absolutely amazing guitar. It outshines any of the Lloyd Loar L-5 examples I've seen him have there.
