Reverse Kimura in sambo and bjj

- To be frank I was surprised to see a submission I never saw when I was visiting Leo Galyatti’s (BJJ Black Belt) gym Marbella Fight School. It’s a Kimura in essence but done differently. The trick is in gripping. We start in closed guard, a popular position in grappling. Next we lock out the shoulder and proceed either with the shoulder lock or an arm bar. By doing so we trap our opponent. And if we engage our hips we can double the strength of our effort.

Sambo is a versatile sport because it has large amount of techniques in standing position as well as on the ground. Why can't you throw an opponent who's equal or stronger opponent? There are two main reasons. First - you're setting up and doing the throw wrong, and the second you're predictable and everyone knows your moves. In both cases your technique is flawed and something has to be changed. All progressive MMA fighters are incorporating sambo submissions. It's easily explainable due to limited time on the ground ( 2-5 seconds to catch and another minute to complete ). Sambists research the fastest and most effective ways to finish for years. Why does everyone want to finish fast? It's an opportunity to finish in style and preserve your energy. I know the taste of quick finishes like no other. 25 years in sambo, 13 World Championships in which i earned 2 golds, 4 silvers, 1 bronze and most importantly 90% of my victories happened before regulation time expired. I spent 20000 hours

THANK YOU💪👍
The "10 finger grip" is the "Gable Grip," please give credit to the person who invented it, "Dan Gable."
that is a very very hard move to execute in one count
One of my favorite submissions. Thank you for the added knowledge. I like the ten finger grip on the shoulder.
let them bring you victory)))
🔥🔥🍀🍀🍀🔥🔥🔥
EXCELENTE AMIGO!!!👏👏👏🙇♂️🇦🇷👍👍
I love this kind of tech, although i'm still working on it. and i'm surprise that you are also training bjj.
Wow bjj also nice
Thank you! 👏🏼 and Marcelo Garcia black belt?
Its a good technique, but...Thers a small risk involved ... In the small moment between the pulling of the shoulder and locking his hands, theres a small window for the guy on top to turn his hand around the neck of his opponent and close it with his free hand.. and get a tap.
I think im right. Ill try it out n get back on it later.
You mean like a kata gatame or some variation of arm triangle? He would not be able to finish it while inside someone's guard. The closed guard seems to be a bad position at first glance, but once you understand how to play it, the top guy has very low chances of attacking if it is only grapling without punches (the guard is also usable with punches but with a different strategy). Everything the guy on top does other than scape (open or pass the guard) with proper technique will probably get him swept, into an armbar, into a shoulder lock (usually omoplata), or strangled (triangles and chokes).
Also make vedio on how to escape from these two positions

I love this version of Double Wrist Lock. Very sneaky. Easy to get. But it's not very new technique though. Has been around for hundreds of years in Catch wrestling.
Here's some old photos of the same hold, although different position. See "Hammerlock with the Bar".

it is tough but I always tell myself I'll never be surprised by anything I havn't seen again. meaning it will work on me I bet but I wont be surprised there was something I had not seen then I go awhile and bam see something (and it's usually very simple!) that I hadn't seen before and I'm like damn I had no idea there was this much left to learn!
as we say "Century live the century learn"
That's a nice little move.
Thank you very much👍
