Dimly lit, smoky haven; air is thick with the scent of strong alcohol and the dust of countless patrons. The walls, coated in grime, seem to absorb the cacophony of raucous laughter and heated arguments that fill the room. The bar is perpetually overcrowded, with tired and weary souls seeking solace in their drinks. The atmosphere is a blend of oppressive heat and the ever-present haze of smoke, creating an environment that is both suffocating and strangely comforting to its regulars. The flickering light from the torches casts eerie shadows, adding to the bar's mysterious and almost otherworldly ambiance.
Entering the bar for the first time and seeing the burning mage in the middle combined with this music score just made my imagination go wild. Not to mention all the other patrons that totally immersed you in this world. It speaks volumes of the quality of the design considering it tells so much with so little.
These drums sound so real, which gives the track an almost live music feel. I first heard this song in a mod for Morrowind which transforms a tavern into a really seedy place with a group of bards, dancers and other stuff. The music fits perfectly
It doesn't surprise me at all that there is a general overlap in morrowind fans and planescape fans lmao. Both games are so worthy of their cult followings.

"Strong drink, a game of chance, and companionship. The rush of life." Somehow, this is what I first remember of PS:T. The tavern with the man who is below One; the *old* man who wearily follows you; the burning man, who sees the flame and not the love; the one who was created out of lies; the real planescaper - this area is the only one where I did not feel lost for all of us were taking a break from the insanity beyond the bar's doors. Fucking marvelous!
Beat this gem not too long ago. Now playing Morrowind with the overhaul mod and faintly heard this playing at the Rat in the Pot in Ald'ruhn. Immediately was taken back to my adventures through the Planes when I heard it.
Иногда и я чувствую себя ходячим трупом, который бессмысленно ходит туда-сюда, а надежде, что когда-то что-то вспомнит. Но таковая возможность с каждым мгновением становится все иллюзорнее и иллюзорнее...
I was going to get mad on you by mentioning this game here but now that you think about it... the game you are referencing has some share of similarities with Planescape Torment. The main hero you don't know the name of, the fact you can either fight with or befriend undead and monsters alike, sometimes ugly and dated graphic style, that actually fits the game and helps the horror aspect occasionally, rpg where your choices matter and it changes the moral of your characters, heck both games have explanation for the respawn system... makes me wonder what would happen if Torment was released nowadays instead, but I've yet to play Numeria so... idk.
Everything about the Smoldering Corpse Tavern is a peerless achievement of art and genius.

in my head, this is the theme for the entire Planescape universe
Same 👽
Wow same
seems fit since they tell you all about the universe when this is playing. great experience.
amen
I have found the Dustman in the chat!

Hail traveler, you have the look of one who has traveled far to be in this place.
Lost, at a crossroads and... empty. Hollow. Left without something that nobody should ever lose. But not alone.

I want to hang out at that bar, just listening in.
Hearing this makes me burst into flame.

So did the overhaul mod at this sont to Morrowind?
That's one of my favourite tracks
Hearing this instantly brings me back to the incredible atmosphere of this game. I think it might be unrivaled in my mind.
Tony Diterlizzi defined Planescape setting on visual level. Mark Morgan made the same on musical one.
Goosebumps all over the place. Hauntingly beutiful
Love this tune so much
It's like a funeral. Poignant, yet something in those once-beautiful ashes is comforting.
(from left) Vhailor, Dak'kon, Fall-from-Grace, Nameless one, Annah and Morte.
Top middle: Lady of Pain.
masterpiece ... there are no words for me to describe it
Being in this place and hearing this music was the point where I realized this game was legit.
Пожалуй самая запоминающияся композиция. Помню как 20 лет назад читал диалоги Эбба и ни чего не понимал :)

A place beyond space and time... It's like it has always existed and will continue to do until the end of time... unchanged.
This song really takes you away!
It seems a perfect and curious mix between ancient Japanese music, and a decadent Arabic melody. I love it.
Nailed it.
Thank you!
This song touches the bottommost of one's soul.
first playing in 2020. Just amazing 10 from 10. Best dialogues and plot ever. I`m 34 btw and have seen some shit in game industry ;)
You are in for a treat. This game is in my top three RPGs of a generation.
Same statement here. 😉👍
love this tune
Hearing this makes me thirst for beer.
Hearing this makes you wonder: What can change the nature of a man?
Stunning
Hey let's build a bar around the main theme: Forever burning corpse man :3
Piękna gra z duszą
Whenever I hum this I instantly get confused and begin humming the opening to FF9.
This song makes me feel like a rowing slave in the Ottoman navy.
Welcome to Grillsby's!

Best fabtasy tavern ever
Sounds more like a funeral dirge than a bar
this song could be called "Lament of the Planes"
Ignus wishes to buurnnnnn..
awsome!!!
Ignusssss wishessss to buuuuuuurn
Best rpg oat
Топовое музло
This music could best be described as bizarre and entrancing... just like the Smoldering Corpse Bar.
Just started playing this and it made me realise how badly written modern RPG's are
Literally same - even down to the timeline of playing.
O
game needs a remake
Imagine a remake with Unreal engine
