"Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner is a former World Champion who has wrestled for major companies worldwide. He was part of one of the most successful tag teams in history teaming with his brother Rick Steiner as the Steiner Brothers and winning the world tag team titles on many occasions. He is also an accomplished amateur wrestler and is a former NCAA Division One All American in the sport.
In this clip from the upcoming "Superstar Billy Graham: Full Disclosure" DVD released by Seriocity Productions, Steiner discusses how Graham was an inspiration to him. Steiner took many elements of Grahams look and character during the most successful part of his career.

Steiner is telling the truth.
The Superstar blazed the way for others.
A great tribute.
George Vreeland Hill yo.
haha, scott usually doesnt have much good to say about anyone. its cool to see him say something respectful about a guy he admirers.
scott is a very good guy sometimes fans need to take a back seat and realize that they are people too
lol Steiner is a nice normal person in real life just like everyone else.
Yeah ,he always seemed to be a good guy ,but they say he's a bully back stage of the ring
Thats because he takes it seriously. He's intense. Like a football coach who takes no prisoners.
But having known him back in the day, I can say he was one of the coolest guys outside of wrestling.
You talk to him as a person, he'll talk back to you as a person.
Billy Graham the legend that paved the way for all these guys
Steiner looks so bizarre when he is being humble and respectful.
Gene Bone it’s not fake it’s controlled violence
If Scot respects someone they must be a legend.
Super Star Billy Graham influenced so many wrestlers, including Scotty Steiner.
Stiener looked like superstar Billy Graham when he was at WCW. Both legends in my book
He was the only guy with a muscle-bound physique back in the 1970's. Nobody had 22" biceps and cound bench press 600 lbs, nobody back then. He missed the world record bench press by only 15 lbs. Superstar Billy Graham bench pressed a tremendous 605 lbs in 1969 Venice Beach Calif.
Bruno was benching close to that. But didn't have SBG's physique.
😳 600 is ASTONISHING strength to me
Scott Steiner was the Billy graham of my generation
For the longest time I thought Poppa Pump was who just who he was as a person, just wired all day shouting at people in his promo voice. It's easy to forget it's a character, that's how good he is.
Not only did SBG have the best body in wrestling back in the day, his (and his manager's) mic skills were outstanding. Some of the best promos ever, to this day.
In December 2000 Superstar Billy Graham appeared on WSCR The Score AM 670 in Chicago, Ill. and talked about Scott Steiner. He said he is impressed with Steiner and that Steiner is his favourite wrestler. He repeated several times that Steiner is "the man" and WCW should make sure he is champion for a long time.
superstar billy grahm and scott steiner had some of the greatest interviews and promos in wrestling history
Nice to see Steiner be nice and respectful towards someone for once!!!
he is respectful, all shit you think and saw about him are kayfabe.. Steiner is a businessman and he have a resto hired 40 employees, if he is whack the dude wouldn't even start a business
@@joeymanny I was surprised to see he was a married family man!!!!! I thought he travelled everywhere with his freaks!!!!!
@@STEJTHEGREATEST kayfabe, in real life he is very polite and not much of a party goer, that's why he last for like 25 years in business straight
I think Scott gets anxious when talking to people, that's why he loves his "ya knows". I'm like that sometimes.
He went to a highly educated university where he studied the big dipper on its axis.
nriab23 Word, and after that, he had to dumb himself down.
makes for a good drinking game.
Scott steiner is the closest thing to a modern superstar Billy Graham
steroid freak...
@@CarbiesChronicles so was Billy Graham, so was Hogan, so was young Steve Austin, so was Macho Man, so was/is John Cena, so was/is Batista, so IS the Rock, so was Ultimate Warrior, so was/is HHH, so is Lesnar, etccc.......
Get the point?? They all did them.
I LOL when you said so is the rock
@@CarbiesChronicles He is as natural as Mike O'Hearn! LOL
VA HOSS Doesn’t make it right though man too many wrestlers are dying from steroids. Don’t get me wrong I’m no choir boy, but you don’t do something crazy just because other idiots are doing it. It was so obvious with Scott though. A blind man could see that he was on them.
The Superstar And Scott made wrestling very great in their time.
He was arguably the biggest and hottest heel in WCW from 97-99. You need to go back and watch the reactions he got every Nitro, they were huge. As for his world title run, he was the champ at the end, its not his fault the company was doomed to die. He was held back a lot throughout his career, thats not just his opinion, lots of wrestlers agree with that. He probably held himself back to be sure, but wrestling is not a sport, the best don't always get the opportunity. It is the choice of others
Not only was steiner inspired by superstar's look, but he also likes to do those rhyming promos.
SCOTT GAVE THE SUPERSTAR HIS PROPS!
Scott had a great physique clear back early WCW tag team wrestling with his brother Rick.
Hogan stole Billy Grahams whole gimmick and even the "brother". A true legend.
If Scott Steiner says you're a great guy, you best believe you must be one of the best guy's on Earth. I respect both Steiner brothers immensely, and respect Superstar Billy Graham equally.
Scotts Goatee is seriously messing with my OCD
lol
Jesus, I thought it was just me...lol
little bit crooked
i saw them all when i was a kid in the old AWA Verne Gagne Promotions
and Superstar was absolutely *Iconic*
it's Rasslin not Wrestling
Hey Flying Doctor i take that back ..forget about you being a never was...you don't even exist *INVALID* one
Steiner would wear sun glasses even if it was fucking snowing
Both are charismatic! I had the honor of meeting Scott Steiner in Chillicothe, Ohio. I regret not getting to meet Super Star Billy Graham. Much respect to both!
1:20 "larges erms ina world ya kno genetic freek"
When scott first turned heal, he had his goatee exactly like grahms, with the two dark stripes, and he called himself the superstar. Its even in the wcw nitro video game for ps1.
Billy Graham has that super body cut!!!!My favorite wrestler of all time he was a walking brand even back then!!!!
Scott Steiner, Jesse "The Body" Ventura, Hulk Hogan and Perry Saturn's style were all influenced by Billy Graham.
Marshall Street And Ric Flair said it was Superstars first wife who died his hair blonde at Superstars apartment in Minneapolis during the old AWA days when Flair was just starting out
Trev Mac
...and it sounds like Dusty basically copied his entire way of speaking...and Vince McMahon took Superstar and used it as a nickname for the entire damn WWF roster.
Hard to say,Dusty debuted in Pro Wrestling in 1968 while Superstar debuted in 1970
EGarrett01, Dusty copied Thunderbolt Patterson
When you say" influenced " you mean totally ripped off the superstar right?
Twenty-three seconds in and he has said "you know" four times. I like Scott. You know where you stand with him you know.
You are sooo right Scott...everybody who was anybody wanted to be like "superstar"
WOW! When hes not in character he's actually coherent and articulate. lol what a concept!
ohbabyimpriceless Scott actually has some brain cells. He’s do no dummy. You graduate from the university of Michigan or any college being a Tool
Scotty loves his "ya knows".......Ya know?
i know.
Common habit
Well, Kurt Angle kNoWs
Undertaker also says you know a bunch of times in his interview with the wrestling fan priest
Wow, it's good to see this guy can have nice words to say about someone. He is a total head case and I think that's what killed his career so maybe he's finally growing up.
scotty was incredible with rick, they were an awesome tag team,...this goes to show you another side of him, i loved scotty's take on ric flair on WCW NITRO some years back..priceless and he got suspended for it as well..he didn't give a shit either way..something i always liked about him..liked him giving props to superstar, i seen billy live so many times..incredible person in real life :)
Big Poppa Pump is the man!
SCOTT STEINER 1 OF THE BEST (WRESTLERS) EVER
He's a POS!
Superstar paved the way...
Scott has been my favorite wrestler since I first seen him in 89 doing his incredible suplexes & devastating tag team moves. Him & Rick toss around Vader, mr Hughs & Road Warriors keep my interest alive, at this sad time in wrestling when you barely see a good suplex anymore, watching Steiner Brother matches makes me wonder why I bother watching the lame & tame WWE shows they put on for last 6 years. many diehard fans see him as the best suplex wrestler of all time! Thank you Scott!
1:03 Deep down, Steiner just looks like someone who wants to be liked and respected by his peers!!!!!!!!!
And he wrestled a lot of countries and suplexed a lot of cities in order to get that respect.
say what you want about Steiner, but the man was a huge draw! he may have been stiff in the ring but he payed his dues, and to hear him speak about the superstar in a positive way has changed my opinion of him. thank you Scott. the memories you have given me are priceless.
Scott Steiner seems like a pretty genuinely humble guy in this interview, he's pretty entertaining to watch and listen to but the man can't work a flat tire
11/1/22
Billy Graham looks like he could've been Steiner's grandad
One of the few people he says anything good about lol.
No. He only shoots on a few people mostly Hogan and Flair. He has spoken highly of the Rock, Stone Cold and Kurt Angle to name a few.
kybelian but he's really jelous of hhh though
+Mohammed Rahman Nobody is jealous of slithering, opportunistic, backstabbing people(Helmsley).
@@rahmohammed53 He's anything but jealous of HHH, Scott tells it how it is, HHH is a chicken shit who hides behind the coast tales of his wife, And as many have stated, If he wasn't banging the bosses daughter, He wouldn't even have a job in the WWE.
@@rahmohammed53 HHH got ahead in the most weaselly way, sleeping with the boss' daughter, most men wouldn't respect a man like that.
Scott, big papa pump. go blue brother. I remember watching u lift at Chrysler arena. u were huge then. keep hanging and bangin.
Me too. I last saw the Superstar on World Championship Wrestling back when they were doing the Omni shows in Atlanta right at the end of his career.
Too bad they were different eras. Could you imagine the tag team of Superstar and Big Papa Pump? I loved Scott as a heel. BPP had a ridiculous body and the stuff he could do was mind blowing. Fact is he could really wrestle same as his brother. Both were college wrestlers at Michigan. I met Superstar when I joined the Army. I was waiting to go to boot camp and was working for Sears. I deliver a washer and dryer and who opened the door? Superstar himself. I removed the old ones, set up the new ones and then he invited me to sit down. We talked for I know an hour. I told him I was friends with several wrestlers. I worked out at Ricky Steamboats gym there in Charlotte. I worked out most days with Ivan Koloff. I was friends with Dusty and the Road Warriors. I lived a few houses down from Sting. I’d see him and Luger in the gym often and many others. SuperStar and I became friends. It bothered me a lot when Dusty died and then Ivan. I rooted for the heels. As kids we would wrestle for real...lol I’m surprised none of us got hurt bad. We took tinfoil and wrapped around the weight lifting belts. Great memories. That’s when wrestling was wrestling.
I was 16 when I met Graham and this was during the Fan Axxess thing at Orland Park mall in Orland Park, IL in 2006 just days before WrestleMania's last appearance in Chicago. I remember telling Graham that he set the standard for today's stats and named Hogan & Steiner as a couple examples (the blond/dark beard template, overly-roided stature, the tanned physique, etc).
Funny Scott gives Billy props on how influential he was and how they look similar but makes sure to stress that he only ever saw pics of Billy... Yet his promos, good in their own right, sound very similar to Billy... Never seen Scott so wordy when not cutting a promo - almost like he was self conscious about jacking a gimmick very similar to Billy
Remember watching Steiner bros early days into the totally suplex you into next month awesomeness. Appreciate what the ladies and guy's are doing today, tho I no longer watch.
I saw Superstar Billy Graham(Wayne Coleman) in the Sam Houston Coliseum, back in the mid-70's! I still have a piece of chewing gum that he spit out, when Jack Briscoe popped his chops in a match back in the day!!!
I'm only 38 and saw Superstar on t.v. when I was a kid. How did Steiner miss seeing him?
I think Superstar definitely influenced Scott. I believe Scott was the extreme version of Superstar
True love is finding a girl who talks about you the way Scott Steiner and Billy Graham talk about each other.
Yeah that is a bit odd, but I think Scott may not have seen Graham until about 1986 [maybe even a bit later] at which point in '86 Steiner was just starting his career, whereas Superstar was on his last run. Also Steiner got into watching pro-wrestling a little later than some of his peers; he was an amateur wrestler all through school and initially had very little interest in pro-wrestling.
When Steiner first joined the nWo and changed his look, he was being called "Superstar" Scott Steiner.
My friend pointed out to me that back in WCW fans used to chant "STEROIDS, STEROIDS" every time him or Buff Bagwell were around lol
Omg Steiner's goatee looks just like Billy Graham's
Scott rocking the Superstar goatee.
Well said , Scott
Thats not a Bears hat he is wearing! It's a Central Gwinnett Black Knights hat. Steiner lives here in Georgia!
That wasn't meant to be a basic interview, just Scott talking about Billy in a normal manner.
They all do it. just some more then others. You can't be on the road all the time and some how stay in shape naturally. It's like piper and even warrior said you have to know how to "cycle it"(basically take it for a month and then come down from it. then back again) and not go over board.
scott spaeks the truth, billy graham blazed the way, and chump hogan stole his look.
RESPECT. Pass it on.
Living legend.
Sir All-Star Billy Graham’s off-String 🤼♂️‘ Scott Steiner
To everyone, being bigger than Arnold doesn't mean that you're an IFBB champion. Being bigger means having a bigger overall frame. One can be less muscular but still be bigger than an IFBB pro.
What are you 12? Besides, Steiner has more credentials that Graham or Flair. He wrestled for real, the others were a scripted environment. And on having the look. Graham and Steiner took their craft seriously enough to where they didn't look like crap like Flair always did. Flair asskissed his way to the top. His matches were exactly the same every time you watch them. The greatest wrestler of all time crap is just that.
Makes me laugh, the look on Arnold's face as he sees Billy Graham's muscles!
One of the Superstar's biggest influences on the business had to be that you can clearly see today was his entrances. I ecall him comming to the ring with George Thorogood's B-B-Bad to the Bone and either he had a bunch of hot chicks in little ass bikinis or he was on a big ass Harley rolling down the ramp with the black leather vest and the German army motorcycle helmut. He was bad ass... unfortunately for me his career was almost at an end by the time I started watching wrestling.
Scott still looks pretty good. I was expecting him extra old and saggy. Miss the good old WCW days...
That is the Super Macho Man from the Mike Tyson's Punchout. Who the hell is this Billy Graham?
Scott looks just like him
Well said 👍
so many better wrestlers who had good mic skills that never had a title much less the world title put on them.
I didn't say I disliked him because of steroids. It's just that that's the most remarkable thing about him. His shoot interviews about being held back would be like if Rob Terry complained that he should currently be TNA World Champion instead of Hardy, Aries, Angle, Storm and the other top guys in TNA. You have to have charisma or mic skills to be a main eventer. It sounds harsh, but the truth hurts.
16 "you knows" packed into 2:36.
Hmmm.. I didn't know.
He was WCW Champion
down a shot everytime he says you know
He was a good wrestler before characters mattered so much. sorry but he's definatly a legend... the Steiners were awesome back in the day.
I have that very same Affliction shirt. Cool!
of course you do.
Affliction shirts are NOT cool. They belong in the bin with Tapout and Ed Hardy clothing
Rob Baker I didn't say it was our shirts that were cool, I thought it was cool that we have the same shirt. However, thank you for the info. I'll keep it in mind when I'm gift shopping for you.
Not what I expected... I though this would be a video of Steiner abusing him and cursing. Nice respect shown
Wow getting positive comments from Big Poppa Pump. That's a big deal.
Steiner Take That Fucking Bears Hat Off
LOL is Steiner a Bears' fan? haha awesome
He isn't stupid. He has talked in shoots about purposely "fucking up" promos after people started to notice his sometimes imperfect promo delivery. Look at his stuff from 97-98. His promos were money, quite smooth for his standards. Separate note, look at him in 92-94 the WWF days, he was fucking jacked. There isn't much difference to his Big Poppa Pump look. He tanned a fuck ton more and as all american wrestler, he knew how to cut weight and get more vascular, and start wearing shorts.
Billy looked similar to Jesse Ventura back in AWA wrestling. A long time ago.
Good stuff!
Graham was truely a pioneer indeed. What he said in those days, was unheard of, 'humiliating' the lazy fat watchers in front of the television on their couch at home, saying their wives and girlfriends would all wanna be with the Superstar, haha, amazing alpha male :)
Scott Steiner could be Billy Grahams twin.
I'm the man of the hour, the man with the power, too sweet to be sour.
I am the sensation of the nation. The number-one creation.
I'm the reflection of perfection, the number one selection.
I lift barbell plates. I eat T-bone steaks. I'm sweeter than a German chocolate cake. How much more of me can you take?
I am the women's pet, the men's regret. What you see is what you get. And what you don't see is better yet.
I float like a butterfly, sting like a bee. There’s nobody as beautiful or as powerful as me.
Billy Graham is the time traveling love child of steiner and hogan mixed with the silver tongue of ali
Is that a commerce high school hat?
Look at him. He's basically Graham!
when Scott reinvented himself he initially wanted to be Superstar Scott Steiner.
nice hat Scott
Cool 😎...
