      I caught that too, but I think it was 100% legal at the time. I heard that they used to sell GHB at GNC stores in the 90's.

      ​@@kevinhope8279 Bob carried himself like a real athlete as he had been a D2 NCAA Champion. He tried to give his promos in a calm and concise manner much like many of the athletes of the day gave their interviews. He wasn't crazy or over the top, that was him being himself.

    I think it’s fair to say Superstar’s 6 month reign as champ was much more memorable than Backlands 5 year run.

    Here's a thought...let's say Vince Sr. actually turned Graham babyface...would they have turned the Grand Wizard babyface also? I don't know if a kinder, gentler Grand Wizard of Wrestling would have been all that effective...

    George Zahorian's #1 customer. I wonder if Superstar would have gotten the same results only taking half the amount of steroids. Did he over do it and destroy his body when smaller, less destructive doses would have worked just as well?

      Guys used and evolved other people's personas since wrestling has been around. Grahama used a lot dusty Rhodes and Muhammad ali himself. Gorgeous George is probably the greatest original innovator as far as characters are concerned. There was no one like him then or before when he did that gimmick.

      @@Kayfabe74, not any where close to what they had with Hulk Hogan. Maybe more than Jesse Ventura, but I doubt it and the WCW definitely made more with Big Pappa Pump and Hollywood Hogan, than they ever would have with Bob Backlund. Face it, he was boring.

      In hindsight, it was okay since Buckland was also selling out arenas. People want just plain good guys to win back then as kayfabe was still pretty much hidden during that era. It wasn't until the Hogan era that characters became the main appeal.
