Artivism for Gender Equality: Disrupting Violence Against Women & Girls

This event held on 28th November opened this year’s 16 Days Gender-based Violence Disruptor Conversation series. The event highlighted that everyone, within their capacity, has a role in ending gender-based violence. This “Artivism” event showcased the work of activists who use art to tell stories and influence change. In the discussion, moderated by Melissa Noel, we heard from artivists Nikkolas Smith, Rand Jarallah, and Sarah Little. The event also featured the debut of the newly appointed UNFPA Regional Champion, Shudufhadzo (Shudu) Musida, Miss South Africa 2020.
