"With God as my witness, Allah dropped the truck on the gargoyle"
"ease off, you're killing him!"
"what do you mean I'm killing him!?"
*furiously spamming the cover his mouth and nose button*
That scene didn't really make sense. If you want to stop someone from screaming you don't cover their nose. You can't scream out of your nose.
@@jesseengland5967 you also don't choke out in the time of one qte
@@whydidimakethischannel5545 ehhh, he was holding that face for awhile lol.
@@jesseengland5967 you may not be able to scream as loudly, but if there is an egress for the air you're expelling, you can vibrate it. He could hum painfully very loudly if he had his nose uncovered.
@@spankmymoomoo Had to try it with my own nose but I see what you're saying lol.
"Another choking victim" had me rolling.
This entire series has been full of quips that made me genuinely laugh out loud
Lmfaoo
NL while choking a man out "what do you mean I am killing him"
To be fair, literally every person ive seen do that section (4 of em now) didnt realize they were actually killing him... but hes a shit character anyway so its not a big loss lol
It was clear the game would kill him if you didnt stop, but unrealistic enough that people not thinking like a game dev didn’t realize
@@wafflescripter9051 or people not thinking in terms of game mechanics. it’s juust unrealistic enough that people playing with any level of immersion would completely miss the fact that the dude is getting choked out, not just getting subdued into not screaming or something like that lol. it’s kind of an oversight development wise (as you can’t just assume people will play a story based game thinking about mechanics) but also i think it’s a learning lesson for people who play games like this. if the game warns you that something’s going to happen if you continue a certain act, it’s probably because it’s gonna happen.
@@ellespoonies with these story based games 99.99% of the time you're supposed to do the QTE. It's a relief they actually followed through with the promise that no action can be the good action. Especially since it was pretty obvious he was getting choked out. People are just too conditioned to mindlessly follow the qte.
“They might teach it in math class. After the Sohcahtoa lesson.” Pure comedy.
the quality of the commentary in this series has been off the fucking charts. above average bits, one after the next
This right here ^^^^^
NL's commentary is amazing. I hope he plays the whole thing.
Pretty sure he will, he loves this shit.
He does, don't worry.
NL is undoubtably at his funniest when commentating on kinda-bad story games, ever since the days of Grey's Anatomy.
He's completed it
@@sirevilmustache9567 yeah, this series of games is kind of bad story-wise, which is unfortunate, considering the initial until dawn game had legit good storytelling, even though it was kind of cheesy, it was like a great movie overall. In next games, there is sudden jump from, "we are having fun" to "we are getting killed off left and right every 3 minutes". There is no build-up at all to all the paranormal stuff. We just see it and limbs flying off, without making connections to characters first, which is really meh...
NTA your house of ashes your rules
underrated comment
I swear one of the screams in the tape recorder was NL encountering the dang ol silverfish
I was losing it when the game kept bringing out the knife to send rachel to her death. It's like "you declined 2 seconds ago NL but please, really think about killing her"
She doesn't die anyway, the rope always gives way. The person who can actually die there is Eric. He gets impaled on his way down if he doesn't cut the rope, AND if Nick is not there to save him. In NL's playthrough, Nick was on time to save Eric from falling and impaling himself because he had killed Merwin. If Merwin was alive, he would've been a burden to the group and Nick wouldn't be on time, causing Eric's death and Rachel to fall down anyway.
So, in a way, not considering the "Nick saving Eric" branching, It is actually the game saying "Are you sure with your decision which may or may not get Eric killed?"
“Fuck you, she falls anyway lol” -the game
Poor guy is like "I'd give an arm and a leg to be back with you.. And I already did the leg"
"So what honey, I already gave my chin."
This is the NL I miss. Snarky commentary and one-liners over top of a long-form game with a story.
This is definitely one of his stronger strengths
Yeah this is pretty great although I did start watching his super auto pets and that's pretty great. Otherwise since the nlss stopped I kinda stopped watching
@@scientificbrony I also stopped watching since NLSS ended. What else do you suppose I might like?
@@DestroManiak oh boy that's a loaded question. For content semi similar to NL, I watch retromation, he plays stuff like Isaac and frequently reviews rogue likes, I watch a fella named Ethoslab for minecraft, he is incredible with Redstone. If you like rimworld I watch a guy named roll1d2 games (he changed names recently, but you can still find him under that) he plays tons of rimworld with mods and the like. Those being said if you are asking for a NLSS analog, honestly I don't have one. The cast isn't as diverse, but if you never watched them "Two best friends play" it's 4 friends, then 3, then zero as the channel died a few years back. If you are looking for people talking about what they like to a friend while they game they are the way to go. I have many other but specifically noted games as I assume thats what you are asking. Otherwise with no introduction, check out a fella named VagrantHoliday if you are even remotely interested in urbex; he's very entertaining imo. (sorry for such a long message)
@@scientificbrony just watch the videos of games you're interested in watching.
Not wearing a necklace into the science lab is genuinely amazing comedy
"Isn't lamasu from attack of the clones?"
"Eeehm I think you are thinking of count dooku?"
This is peak comedy right here
i think the camera is messed up inside the house because it's actually realistically scaled. at 2:37 the guy fills the whole doorframe, which is how big actual doors are, but often video games up the size for easier maneuverability. very strange bit of realism to include lol
nothing makes me happier than references to react court during any gameplay
Lmaoo the illegal textbook ring 😭
I gotta admit that Allah truck is definetely the hardest I laughed at a videogame for a while.
as someone who took a bunch of art history in college i pog a little everytime egg says "lamassu"
the game: if you continue doing that he will die
NL: um debate
NL doesn't think twice about lancing a girl with a spear.
Also NL: keeps sending mixed signals in a clearly broken marriage
Also also NL: unreasonably confident that he can throw a palm sized rock over 150m
"I never stopped thinking about you, Rachel"
5 seconds later
*PULLS OUT KNIFE, TWICE, AFTER A 10 SECOND STRUGGLE*
LMAO
The game really wanted you to cut that fucking rope, lol
@@FluffyDragon The thing is that was the way of the game saying "Are you sure you want to proceed with this decision which may or may not kill Eric?" The devs always tend to give you second chances on choices which can cost a character's life.
Cause, if Merwin was saved and NOT choked out like NL did, Nick would NOT have been on time to save Eric because Merwin would've been a burden to Jason and Nick, and if you proceed to do just as NL did in that scenario (not cutting the rope) Eric gets pulled off the edge, impaling himself on a spike on his way down, and Rachel falls down the hole anyway.
So yeah, all the choices are tied together, and matter a lot.
There is even a possibility of Dar shooting Eric off the edge and therefore impaling him, and it triggers if Jason was made to shoot at the unarmed Iraqi shepherd at the very beginning. 'An eye for an eye'
“That’s why you don’t wear necklaces in the science lab”
21:10 "he died 2 seconds after getting the shot. That's what happened to Nikki minaj's cousin
Ad roll: hey, it's me, a pharmacist, don't forget your flu shot
The comedic timing is brilliant
Nah, the youtube algorithm just heard the word "shot/vaccine" and put the ad there on purpose.
NL + a game like this is pure gold, always
Been waiting for this the whole day.
LETS ACTUALLY GO!!
This entire playthrough should just be called "In Search of Lamasu."
Honestly, this series is growing on me way quicker than I thought it would. I’m excited for the next video.
"How could this remind you of old times?" They're in ancient ruins egg, just reminding them of the good old days of 1300 BC
7:20 five men in hugo boss suits just ran down an open slope, with no cover what so ever, did NOT crouch behind the wall they ran along, THEN finally sat down on the ground.
US soldier. "THESE FUCKERS ARE DUG IN LIKE TICKS"
Wh... what are you TALKING about???! xD Who wrote this dialogue man, so stupid xD
That roll is a marine carry, it's a very common tactic, and it works very well.
Commonly called ranger roll
Yup, remember seeing on Punisher, and searching about it later.
@@JotteXD My bad, I forgot this was the actual title.
The jokes and delivery are top quality in this one
just finished the first episode and immediately blessed with the next one!
my favorite series in a long time
I don’t know why, but the duck food joke got me real good
The dialogue in this game is a work of art. This is how people speak.
Doesn't it take at least 10 minutes to suffocate? How hard did the guy choke him to make him die in less than half a minute??
That Bass Pro Shop in Memphis really is the stuff of myths, though.
37:31 THAT IS NOT A WWII MODEL! That is a WWI model Maxim gun, possibly a German MG 08? Doesn't look quite right but definitely not WWII.
Blue hyena pazuzu number 29 of 65 holding a wumpa fruit
I really hope he keeps playing this! It's too funny!
Brooo I have a crest eagle tattoo on my arm in the same spot and i'm not in that great of shape right now. NL would be disgusted.
Thanks NL love story content :-)
Dropping a comment for engagement statistics as I have to see the whole story!
Idk if everyone is supposed to die so early lool

JASON! JASON!
Take a shot everytime NL says Lamassu
Appreciated.
Been searching for the so called mailman scp but can't connect a man making toys of people and a toy destroying mailvan to this game
how did NL get the duck song *that* wrong
The game plays a cutscene for...shooting?
Ghouls would be more suited for the area they are in
Bass Pro Shop Ziggurat
For the algorithm brother.
I’ll never get in these games why people don’t consider like just climbing out. The wire bit is it like free rope
Petrol is still good after 60 years, right?
That's what I hate about these games. Game wants you to cut the rope, tries it twice but player decides not to and then it does it by itself
Illusion of choice
@@wafflescripter9051 yeah, made big by telltale games and only got worse
@@MrStatistx Dude can you not comment on illusion of choice without knowing? There were a lot of choices determining that scene.
There is a scenario where Eric can die if you DO NOT cut the rope, and that was the way of the game just saying "Are you sure you want to proceed with the decision which may or may not kil Eric?"

So yeah, all the choices are tied together, and matter a lot. And not like Telltale Shit where it doesn't even matter. This game has so many branching possibilities, probably one of the highest in the market of choice games.
Did you know there is a possibility IN THAT SCENE, for even Rachel to cut the rope to prevent her husband from dying? Where she is not so much reluctant as she is in NL's scene just to give her life to save her husband? It all depends on your previous choices, how close Rachel was with Eric, and how unfavorable you are with her and Nick's relationship (if you as Rachel told Nick to put the relationship on ice, etc.)
There is even a possibility of Dar shooting Eric off the edge and therefore impaling him, and it triggers if Jason was made to shoot at the unarmed Iraqi shepherd at the very beginning.
So, it's ironic how you comment on one of the numerous possibilities of that scene to be 'illusion of choice'.
There are branching points and possibilities that probably Telltale will NEVER be able to pull.
This game has so many scenarios I didn't even know it had. This is differently next to Detroit Become Human in terms of branching storyline
This comment is kinda ignorant about what actually can or can't happen in that scene lol
The married couple look like brother and sister
yeah, never let NL into the army.
19:13, actually because of color theory...
Mr Frodo?
52:38 huh? I know he already made fun of the line, but what the actual fuck is that line?
What the fuck is this game XD I am laughing so hard, its so bad! :D
Is there gameplay in this or is it just cutscenes?
It's a movie. There is almost zero gameplay. There are maybe 5 sections tops where you can walk a character around. This is what "gaming" would be today if Dark Souls hadn't been a smash hit and reminded devs that video games are GAMES.
The end of the first and the beginning of this episode would have been very uncomfortable to watch, due to the... unappetizing topic, but NL's jokes really saved the content! XD
It shows the level of his showmanship, that he knows how to skilfully get past such serious base material. I unironically applaud your sense of tact. ^-^
He made fun of someone's death irl I would hardly call that tact man. I'm not a fan of nicki minaj either but if we're going to have standards then let's keep them consistent eh.

Pazuzu is from the exorcist. Weird seeing it in this game.
the commentary? gold. the portrayal of any military operation, let alone a supposed joint op? made we wanna gag every 4th second, especially scuffed Tisdale gnashing her cheeks or the wack kit or lack of PPE these "operators" had. suspension of disbelief aside, homeboy that directed this certainly has some fantasies about what the military is actually like...

@@MajorasWrath1 yeah like itself
*watches streamer play for an idea of the game and their foray into its story*
NL: Look I don't need to participate in any of these conversations. Of course I say nothing here and cut short every dialogue; how is saying nothing not the best option here? What? I realize it's all story and the only gameplay is QTEs but saying nothing is superior here okay? Besides it's also just cooler to say nothing in situations like this. Excuse me I mean it's based? Poggers? That's right.
Gotta love it lol
Pretty sure NL doesn't read these comments. The pyramid's in Memphis, not Nashville.
Why does Ashley Tisdale look so awful in this. Jesus.
OMG this game is the most realistic game I have ever seen! realistic in humanistic way LOL
-Met my wife again, confessed my undying love to her and get back together
-Thought about cutting the rope as she would not sit still
-Threw the knife away in shame and guilt
-Picked the knife back up to cut the rope
Northern lion anti-vaxxer confirmed😂 21:10
Great banter but the game is another bullshit choices don’t matter interactive film. You didn’t want to cut the rope but guess what, the game made it so you basically did it anyway
Don't forget the bit where she, on a 90 degree slope *being pulled up with a rope*, is somehow so heavy that she slides and falls off.. but then.. the guy, who is no doubt heavier, and has HER weight also on him, dangling erratically.. can.. stop himself sliding down the slope
Riiiight. Nevermind that the rope also kept magically generating slack as needed, somehow
That entire section just felt really stupid
