The teeth thing is just what you see from young actors who grew up as theatre kids, always smiling in case at this very moment moms taking a picture.

BTW The birds don't get electrocuted because they aren't grounded, if they were to stretch across to another wire or touch a pipe or something conductive that ran down to the ground they would get electrocuted

I thought it was the plastic that the wires were encased in that prevented the electrocution, lol.
@@i_am_ergo i am pretty sure most power line wires aren't insulated, hence why they are put so high up. Also if a connection between 2 different wires occurs (by them touching or by a bird touching both at the same time) then a shortcircuit will happen.

to answer the bird electrocution question, it's bc birds aren't grounded when they're sitting on power lines. for current to actually flow it needs a connection from the source to Ground. humans stay safe by only ever touching the ground, birds are safe by only ever touching the wire. it's when you touch both at the same time that you get an Uh Oh moment.

Maybe I'm part of the problem, but I think the concept of bugs in this game is super funny. I don't ever play or buy these games, I exclusively watch NL play them, but because they are so silly and he mines so much humour from them, weird bugs might be funny. However I'm a UA-cam watcher so maybe I'm wrong and bugs ruin the experience. Looking forward to watching either way
I've bought every Dark Pictures game and The Quarry and I can confirm that I find the jank and weird bugs kind of enjoyable. The games are somehow both super high effort yet get released messed up enough to make you wonder how this happened. I just think that's irresistibly charming.

Birds don’t get electrocuted because they aren’t touching anything that’s touching the ground. If a person is working on an electrical wire they are standing on a crane thing that is touching the ground. Electricity wants to find the shortest path to the ground so if the person in the crane touches the wire it goes through the person and through the crane to the ground. The bird doesn’t create that shorter connection so the electricity never wants to flow through the bird

In order for electricity to flow through a circuit there needs to be a direct connection between the power source and what's known as ground, which in most cases is an actual connection to the earth.
Birds do not electrocute themselves when they land on power lines because they aren't touching the power lines and the ground at the same time. As a result no electrical circuit is formed.

@@litapd311 I've seen Until Dawn and The Quarry (didn't know those were the same devs as this at first), but none of the Dark Picture Anthology games. Might check out the House of Ashes playthrough though. Also, happy new year

Birds don't fry on power lines because they don't complete a circuit for the electricity to travel through. They would need to touch something else besides the wire (another wire, the ground, a ladder leaning against the wire, something) which could complete the circuit before they would cook.
I started watching someone else play this but I just thought, hell gotta watch the Northernlion version that I was fairly certain existed.

IDK if he meant the whole bird and electricity question but uh. Electricity chooses the path of least resistance and the powerline is objectively the path of least resistance unless the bird is touching ground or something that is not the powerline. Say maybe the ground, is this were to happen the electricity would want to even out the positive and negative charges that come with electricity. I'm not gonna explain how AC/DC power works and like elektron charges but all electrons are negatively charged and therefore want to even out the charges by connecting to something with a positive charge IE ground. SO since the bird is not giving a less resistant path nor giving electrons a chance to even out the charge the bird doesn't get electrecuted. Please feel free to factcheck. I read about this like 3 years ago and didn't bother looking it up for making this comment.

This whole story line is straight out of the pages of actual history. H H Holmes is one of the most insane serial killers of all time. Check out Devil In The White City if you wanna learn more!
@@Frequenterable Not really, a lot of the stuff related to Holmes was very sensationalized. He murdered plenty of people, but he had personal connections to most or all of them, he wasn't luring in strangers from the street. He generally killed either for monetary gain or to cover up his affairs. He was also paid by a newspaper to tell his story so he confessed to murdering people that were verifiably alive, he had 9 confirmed murders and 7 or 8 likely ones rather than 27. The hotel really wasn't a big part of it either, it was just a normal hotel.
