Can Justin explain that "first smile he'd seen in years"? The wreath on the front door of his home is an old-timey custom to let the neighborhood know a resident at that home has passed away.
That look on your face when you realized that when he said - I'll love you till I die -- and he stopped loving her today......Priceless. Loved the reaction.
Congratulations! Your of the 1% that understand this song, it’s amazing how many don’t, now listen to his song the grand tour and see if you can get that one because I don’t think anyone gets it right, it’s still at 0% 😂
This song still breaks my heart and I estimate I've heard it a thousand times over the course of 50 years. George (Possum) Jones, king of country music, left an amazing musical legacy behind when he passed away. So glad you had the opportunity to hear one of his greatest hits. For a more upbeat song by George hope you'll check out "White Lightening", another big hit by George. Thank you for the memories. Take care and blessings always.
That moment when you realized this song isn't what you thought it was about. I wondered when that was going to dawn. Bless your heart. You are not the first reactor to make that error.
Loved your reaction... My sweet daddy was a huge George fan. He would say to put your hand over your heart when you say George Jones 😊. God Bless you!!!
My favourite George Jones song - it doesn't matter how often I've heard it, it's always heart-breaking. I don't know if you've listened to much of the late Charlie Pride's music but if you get time, he had so many good songs ("Crystal Chandler" among them). A steel guitar always adds such a touch of pathos to a song. Thanks for playing real C&W!
I think you would like his songs The Cold Hard Truth and When the last curtain falls Also that was a Pedal Steele guitar. It uses pedals and knee levers to bend the strings and the metal bar in the left hand gives it that ringing clarity while you pick with the right hand.
It was also hard to hear the first line of the song (He said I'll love her till I die) with all the cheering. That sets the stage for explaining the whole song.
How many of you out there just snickered and waited when this young man thought he "got it" the first time? Then cometh the surprise...
They almost ALWAYS don't listen to the first line of the song "He said I'll love you 'til I die".

Good reaction. A lot of people don’t get it even after the song is over because they don’t listen to it closely.
"NOW I can live!!!" Well, not exactly, but for you, Justin D, the sun burst through the haze to bring light on the truth!
I am having this song played at my husbands funeral...love him almost as much as I loved George

The first line of the song says everything... "He said I'll love you 'til I die",
Exactly!!! Most that review this song fail to remember that opening line… it comes back to them when the line “soon they will carry him away” is sung!
A legendary song sung by a legendary singer. ❤❤❤❤❤
I had the privilege of seeing him do this live. No words.😢
Yes.
"He said I'll love you 'til I die." "He stopped loving her today."
One of the Best Country
songs Ever written !
You should see

That has to be the best "Oh shit, I understand" reactions that I've seen.

Loved your reaction...

The very best reaction yet!
I found love letters to my dad from my mom in his stuff after he had passed. I still read them 37 years later and cry, missing them both. 😢 ❤

True Country
The first line says it all
The first line was. He will love her till he dies
It's in the very first line He said he would love her til he died
You got it bro. A lot of people don't.
It took me a second but I eventually got there lol
For a very emotional version of this song watch Alan Jackson sing this song at George Jones' funeral.
First line of the song…He said I’ll love you till I die
That may be a part that I missed! Took me
A second to catch it
First line of the song -- he said I'll love her till I die!
Lol I love when people hear this song for the first time!
You did good.

He stopped loving her because he died
Still miss seeing you on FOX 21
I saw the second you got it.
☮️💙💙💙🔥🔥😎
His friend didn't stop loving her till he died if u notice he had.a wreath I. His door soon they'll carry him away
did i just hear what i thought i heard ?

That's what happens when you run your mouth before listening to the whole song
To me this is the saddest song I've ever heard.
The studio version is better..two much noise live ..distract from understanding the song.
Can’t hear it
He’s dead
