Remember it well 1984-85 my ex was in there. only 17. Took a whole day travelling there and back on buses Liverpool- Warrington-Risley then the wait to get in and the toilet and visitor’s room chocker ankle-deep in balloons and other crap. Was a truly miserable dump.
I remember on the way to Foster Old detention centre 14 years of age stuff for the night at Risley. I’ve never been so scared as in my life screams of Young boys and lasses screaming all night in their shells. Certify for the kid was only there for 10 hours when we got transferred, thank God.
Was there in 81. Proper hole. They were shipping some scousers to Strangeways but they barracaded themselves in there pad and would not go. Next on the list was me being shipped out. Risley was like the Hilton compared to Strangeways!
My parcels always hit the roof lol but I liked it there then got moved to wymott lol back to Walton I felt at home there was there when you got on the roof with paddy porter lol

Bill have you ever done time in porter field, I was there 2wk as i was living on Skye and that was nearest being 3hours drive away. They shipped me off to barlinnie coz i was a Scouser and they thought i could be trouble for there massive 2wing 2story 24pad wings. Its the smallest jail I've ever seen. On arrival i thought we'd pulled into a strange court with a wall around it to collect more on the way. But that was it. Could throw a stone over the lot To be kind they gave the wife n kids a 2hour visit knowing they couldn't drive to Glasgow for anymore visits.
Our kid was in there 82 they came early hours and grabbed him from redbank took him there he was 15 I was 10 when I went to visit him I was shitting myself proper scary place and that was just getting in the visits 🤣🤔

I went grisley risley beginning of 2012 to end of 2013. B Wing. As a joke i took a bet off some manny kids in there. Guy called Turbo, whilst working on the servery with him said. "Ill bet you u wouldnt get my name tattoed on ur dik for a grm of bud. (Like £50 at the time) so i said ill get in tattoed on my ass for a grm. So anyway i fukin did it for a laugh. Ewt for a laugh in there i ad a 4 an half up my ass. So anyway to this day ive got a tattoo on my ass that says B wing 2013 Grisley risley and I ❤ turbo. 😂😂😂😂 dont get me wrong i dont and wouldnt do ewt for money. Im not that kinda kid. This was a 1 off thing that i thought at the time was hilarious. Evry1 had a big laugh and i have no regrets. The lad id met in there frm salford actually left me his Nintendo game cube and stack of games wen he got out before me. I was on opposite side to him on same landing. Respect to Turbo👊. (Hope he nt behind bars again) Was him that got me on the servery. Was a propper shithole that wing. No cameras anywhere on B wing so it was dangerous ground for some. Seen a few get put on life support machines whilst in there. Scousers ran that jail when i was there.
When your one the lads Billy as you no you get the cleaning jobs and servery reception is even the best but as you no you have to have a name or be in with the criminal world for them jobs I been in all then jobs was a red band in grisly but they had I'd cards with a red square around the card and just show your card be all over the jail just like red bands in the big house haha you were made up if you heard Lee butler call your name out haha was young then 😂😂😂

I was in there in 93-96 on fox House. It was not that bad to be fair . Far better than when they had the old tac units it was grim back then
