This has come at a great time! I'm about to build a city with a canal system, thank you for this really good tutorial! (Friend of the canal trust here :D )
Best worldedit elements are found in these. I am always left confused until you do it. As for filling with water, do you just select the 2 points at the top of each water level, //fill water, and let it flow downwards?
Brilliant video! You’ve got yourself a subscriber! The canals where I live have the bridges built into the gates themselves, but I can’t think how to do that nicely on Minecraft
@@WBCBuilds Yep I wanted to build something I had no experience in. After picking the style, I browsed around and found these videos and it has helped me a lot!
This might sound like a lot XD but a simple tutorial or just a break down on how you built the war office would be great. Im currently building a britsh early 20th century city and that would look perfect in it.
I will have to break it to you that I wont be doing that XD for one I built it 4/5 years ago now and two, It's massive and complex. Sorry about that. I'm tempted to do a rebuild it as a time lapse but not yet
im unsure what blocks to recomend but for a touch of extra detail put some ever so slightly raised blocks by the gate levers (arms?) almost all canal gates have theese at the arms in the floor typically raised bricks and there used to give you something to push against with your feet when opening the gates for a little extra leverage also perhaps a single wall or fencepost piece near the gate to be the winder mechanism used to open the sluice gates as well as a trap door placed flat against the gates themselves to take the place of where the actual sluice gate would be also dont forget ladders in the locks that are low along the walls so that you can get in and out of the lock to go work the gates and return to your boat
This is an old video so I don't know if anyone will see this video, but for me part of the Canal will be in a Mesa and some in the Jungle, so for the Mesa part would it be better to leave the bottom and sides of the Canal terracotta? Or should I do this same stone walls/dirt floor? I haven't started making it yet but I was thinking of just letting it stay mostly Terracotta and then blending it into the dirt/stone once I get to the Jungle.
Considering I’ve put the download up for the bulk of the components of this build the rest of the construction is up to you, based on the context you wish to build it in
my Mancunian ass getting ready to build this by hand because I'm too stupid to use world edit but I want my world to feel homely while I kidnap villagers by boat lmao
You got the horrible grime from the inside of the locks accurate!
Haha I wanted to build these as accurately as possible. And considering most uk canals are a mess this was the best way to do it 😂

Haha well I’m happy this will be of use! No way ahha I need to become one of those, love canal holidays
So nice to have this now, and now we all will know what to do if you need help building more canals 👍
Idk why tho but this is in the engineering aspect, very correct way to build a canal lock and channel flow

You can do that, or you just set a section to water and then stand on the same level as that water and type //fixwater
Just amazing as always❤
Thank you! Hope you enjoyed the video
There's a lock like this outside my house, never expected to see one in Minecraft XD great job!
Great video, can’t wait to have a go at building my own!
Share it with me on twitter or Instagram! Thanks for watching
Very nice build! Also love the design on the canal boats.
Thank you very much!

Thanks I needed this! :)
Hope you have fun building it
This is really good. You are very underrated!
Thank you! Share it around with your friends
@@WBCBuilds I did! It fits perfectly in my 19-20th century world. Your other videos have helped me insanely too thanks so much!
@@dukealek1709 that’s great to hear. Sounds like you are building in the same time era as I am. It’s great fun

Ok no problem. It is a massive task nevertheless. Thanks for the response though!
No worries, I always reply to comments

I would say either wood planks or stairs for what you are suggesting
Or
Bricks or cobble stone would be a good fit
Superb and very interesting
Thank you! I love seeing canals around the English countryside and felt there wasn’t enough videos out there about building them in MC
Another brilliant video, those locks look spectacular, although not sure your boat is river worthy with that hole 😂
It’s a little bit flooded already 😂
Thx this is really helpful
Glad it helped
tthis guide is amazing. can i ask how to calculate the canal when the curve is 90°?
This is going to be an epic build!!! ❤️
Nice video explaining structure of how to build! Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Can you do more Victorian building tutorials please. Nice canals
I will do in the future, But too stop the channel just becoming Victorian houses i wanted to show how i build the worlds as well
How do you do that landscaping thing with the cylinders of grass in different sizes, like gradients?

Can I just build it bigger for bigger ships
This is so cool
Can anyone give me the counts on each piece of the wall please? Thats all I need,
Nice video ❤❤
Thank you! Hope you enjoyed it
@@WBCBuilds Yees i LOVE IT ❤
Nice
Thanks for watching
Excelent 😎 ✌🏻
Can you do a video on making trees and terraforming
Time to rebuild the Netherlands in minecraft xd.
U could of done a tutorial in parts and also put fence gates on the locks so u can pull the gates
Considering I’ve put the download up for the bulk of the components of this build the rest of the construction is up to you, based on the context you wish to build it in
I can probably make the locks work with the Create 0.3 mod
I'm not sure what you mean
@@WBCBuilds making the locks doors actually open / close and the basins fill / drain
Now put a full width ship to block it
At a 24 degree angle
And make the canal made out of water and sand
Reminds me of a certain country... flat... canals.... hmmmmm
Hmmm I wonder which country that might be... well we might Nether know
@@WBCBuilds you just restored my faith in puns
Netherlands
Bedrock or java?
Well you can use the download with world edit which is there for java. But you can still build it in bedrock
Surprised you responded
Why’s that? Try to respond all my comments
I can build the Erie Canal! (Jk I understood everything but at the same time I understood nothing
my city will have some smaller and some bigger

what is the server IP?

@@WBCBuilds how do i join the discord?
There is a link on the description of this video
