Hi Los, I do need some advice about watching 1080p videos on 1440p monitors that no one is talking about ! Tried some high-spec 1440p models but all of them were blurry, shockingly worse than 1080p native monitors while playing 1080p videos. Then I unfortunately learned that the scaler won't be able to precisely transpose the 1080p image onto the 1440p screen. Meaning, blur and other visual artifacts make the video look substantially worse than 1080p native monitors and it's not related with bitrate or compression etc. Mainly watching 1080p shows, movies (not streaming on youtube/Netflix etc) and have a huge archive... Tried 4K monitors/TVs with 1080p videos and they look just fine, equal to 1080p native ! 4K is exactly four times 1080p resolution; this means that for every pixel in 1080p, there are four pixels in 2160p, so you just make each pixel four times bigger. Looks exactly like a 1080p display. I want to upgrade to 2K for games, web & work but "to watch 1080p videos blurry with artifacts" is holding me back. 4K is hard to drive and it's expensive but definitely clearer than 1440p ! - Should I skip 1440p & invest in 4K monitors ? Can you do a video about the elephant in the room ?
Just bought it 2 days ago and I can't decide two things. Should I keep it at standard mode or MOBA ( brighter and higher contrast ) and if I should use smart HDR Desktop, Game or Display HDR 600
I am in a dilemma :/ I want to get a new 1440p monitor and I am comparing this one to Dell G2724D.. From RTINGS the response time is better on the G27 and the Text Clarity. Is it worth paying an extra 100$ to get another 15hz and better HDR quality ? Thanks !
Its 1ms from the descpription test but from RTINGS review G2724D way better. The brightness you talking about is in HDR and in this products the HDR is not that good.@@HandShakeLineRespect
@@ryoukon9906 which one are you going with? I’m trying to make a decision as well before the Black Friday sale is done. Have you checked out the LG 27GP850, it’s a bit more expensive where I am, but pretty much in the same range and category as the Dell/AW.
So after a lot of thoughts I bought the Dell G2724D. I saw only good reviews and everyone I asked told me to buy it instead of the AW. For that LG monitor I know some ppl said that the Nano IPS Panel is bad and they prefer Dell's one, also that LG monitor older then the Dell one@@HandShakeLineRespect
I've had this monitor about 9 months now. And kind of a love / hate at this point.. I do really like the design. It pairs well with my AW R15. And the rear lighting. And being in AW Command Centre, Really nice UI. My main issue being the matt finish. As you say in the video. I've always had gloss finish. And though it's better in the day time. I mostly use my PC at 6pm+ So at night matt just feels horrible.. But I just have to deal with it until I have time to get something else. - Smaller issues that I don't think were mentioned, The power button is very stiff. you have to be quite forceful. A big downgrade coming from a 2009 dell monitor that had a touch sensitive panel. Also when you turn your monitor off and on, You get this annoying "Nvidia Container" popup message every time. I'm sure you can disable it somehow. But still. And finally, when you shutdown your PC, it's like the monitor becomes briefly unresponsive, So if you press the power button at the wrong time, it has no effect. And you have to press it again. I find 165 perfectly adequate fps/Hz. But next time I would spend more money just to get a higher quality model with a nicer power button.
Fantastic monitor. Seems to be 360$ right now! I wonder how’s the response times. Altough HDR is basically useless, things like SDR and wide gamut stuff is very high end. HDMI 2.1 is MASSIVE plus for the screen! Also no IPS glow is a win - perhaps it’s using the same panel tech as that one LG screen?
I bought this monitor for my PS5 to play Warzone and a few other games, I thought the monitor was really good but as soon as I did the firmware update to get HDR working that's when this monitor really shines, HDR looks incredible on Warzone, I literally only want to play games in HDR with this monitor, it doesn't have any backlight bleed or any bright spots when the monitor is black, like I've seen on LG monitors reviews which were double the price, yeah Alienware is the way to go
Sadly I don’t believe so..I literally bought this monitor because my 32” Dell didn’t have VRR or HDMI 2.1 for PS5. Now I have a 32” that doesn’t support VRR or HDMI 2.1 and a 27” that doesn’t have external speakers lol Dell needs to be more clear on their products 😒
I would yes. Perfect for FPS or fast moving graphic games. Just need your headset to play. I got mine cheaper through Amazon used though but still like-new, well worth it.

I could go for 4k, but a lot of things would be downscaled and I'd rather just play at a constant 1440p 120hz. Since ps5 requires hdmi 2.1 to use 1440p and 120 hz simultaneously, it really narrows down the market from what I've seen
ANYONE WATCHING THIS RECENTLY LOOKING TO UPGRADE? YES, THIS IS HDMI 2.1 IT WILL ALLOW YOU TO RUN 1440P 120HZ ON PS5. BUT.. YOU MUST HAVE A 48G HDMI CORD TO CONNECT FROM YOURE PS5 TO YOURE MONITOR. AFTER THAT YOURE GOOD TO GO,.
Because 4K, at the distance you'll be gaming from, is just not needed and you won't see a benefit during actual use unless you're doing a side-by-side comparison. A 100" screen at 4K will be noticeable.

Can you do a video about the elephant in the room ?
what monitor settings do you recommend for ps5? I notice this monitor has "console mode" but not sure what that does and how good it is
Hi and thanks for the vid! Any idea how does this dell compare to the new Omen hp 27q?
I tried both, HP Omen negs it easily
Just bought it 2 days ago and I can't decide two things. Should I keep it at standard mode or MOBA ( brighter and higher contrast ) and if I should use smart HDR Desktop, Game or Display HDR 600
Aren't there 240hz 1440p monitors around the $380-$399 price point?
You can buy an MSI G274QPX for $379
@@volde486 hdmi 2.1 vrr monitor would you suggest?

is this better than aw2723df?
That blue light in the corner makes me mad but this is the perfect monitor for me
Hi is it configured for a ps5 ?
How does this stack with the lg recommended 1440p monitor?
So no 3.5 audio jak?
Does one need screws to put it together
I am in a dilemma :/
I want to get a new 1440p monitor and I am comparing this one to Dell G2724D..
From RTINGS the response time is better on the G27 and the Text Clarity.
Is it worth paying an extra 100$ to get another 15hz and better HDR quality ?
Thanks !
The Brightness is also better on the Alienware. AW is 600cd compared to 400cd on the Dell.
Isn’t the response time on both the same at 1ms?
@@ryoukon9906 reason I’m asking is the price between the AW and Dell is only $50
does it have a crosshair built in the menu ?
Yes, alienware got the best crosshair
Just got this monitor today ( my first monitor). Can you please tell me if this monitor supports auto low latency mode with ps5. And if so, how?
I just wish it had a gloss finish as that's what I'm used to
This monitor or odyssey g6?
It's not hdmi 2.1?
Same question
it is
That’s monitor is 0.1 ms right ?
hi been watching you for a long time and dont know if i should get the Dell S2522HG 240hz monitor or not, what are your thoughts?
dont get it
@@daruiraikage why
@@SDW_Tech because it sounds like an expensive monitor and if i cant have it i will not let you have it as well.

Is this over kill for a ps5
Idk if you will see this Type C but just to let you know a channel called SimpilfyTech stole this videos footage and gave no credit
How is it if to compare it with lg 27gp850-b?
Fantastic monitor. Seems to be 360$ right now! I wonder how’s the response times. Altough HDR is basically useless, things like SDR and wide gamut stuff is very high end.
HDMI 2.1 is MASSIVE plus for the screen!
Also no IPS glow is a win - perhaps it’s using the same panel tech as that one LG screen?
fantastic in what ? noreal comparison with others, earlier models are not good with even a cheaper models
Yes, it's an LG panel.
So is it hdmi 2.0 or 2.1? The guy in the video says 2.0, but I've read online that its 2.1. I'd definitely prefer 2.1 over 2.0
@@Ghost-_-Gav the dell website said 2.1, for this SKU
I bought this monitor for my PS5 to play Warzone and a few other games, I thought the monitor was really good but as soon as I did the firmware update to get HDR working that's when this monitor really shines, HDR looks incredible on Warzone, I literally only want to play games in HDR with this monitor, it doesn't have any backlight bleed or any bright spots when the monitor is black, like I've seen on LG monitors reviews which were double the price, yeah Alienware is the way to go
why it says hdmi 2.1 on the dell website?
So..how do I get an external audio for speakers for this monitor?? Is there some kind of attachment I can use or?
Wondering this too, do you now know a way?
Sadly I don’t believe so..I literally bought this monitor because my 32” Dell didn’t have VRR or HDMI 2.1 for PS5. Now I have a 32” that doesn’t support VRR or HDMI 2.1 and a 27” that doesn’t have external speakers lol Dell needs to be more clear on their products 😒
@@ASAPAlekzander yea they do need to be more clear, would you otherwise recommend this monitor for PS5
I would yes. Perfect for FPS or fast moving graphic games. Just need your headset to play. I got mine cheaper through Amazon used though but still like-new, well worth it.
thanks, just bought it on amazon 20% off
dose it have hdmi 2.1?
Yes.
can I connect a external sound card to this monitor?
The reason I returned the aw2723df was because of the backlight bleed
Can you tell the difference between LG ultragear 24gn650-B and Ultragear 24gn65R-B ?
i bought this monitor and white is not white color but the main problem is make me feel dizzy .i selected the sharpness on 70 instead of 50 and the picture is more clear.what can i do
Online it says that this is hdmi 2.1, but videos say its hdmi 2.0. Can anyone clarify? Im trying to find a 1440p monitor with hdmi 2.1 to use for my ps5 at 120hz for around $300-$400. I could go for 4k, but a lot of things would be downscaled and I'd rather just play at a constant 1440p 120hz. Since ps5 requires hdmi 2.1 to use 1440p and 120 hz simultaneously, it really narrows down the market from what I've seen
*it works with VRR on, HDR on and 120fps @1440p
Right now, There is a 90$ rebate now on the Dell Canada website, I'm not sure for other countries but yeah

@@knowwork9yeah is this good or bad
ANYONE WATCHING THIS RECENTLY LOOKING TO UPGRADE? YES, THIS IS HDMI 2.1 IT WILL ALLOW YOU TO RUN 1440P 120HZ ON PS5. BUT.. YOU MUST HAVE A 48G HDMI CORD TO CONNECT FROM YOURE PS5 TO YOURE MONITOR. AFTER THAT YOURE GOOD TO GO,.
I wish Dell would make 27" 4K gaming monitors. I don't know why companies are restricting 4K to just 32" monitors.
Because 4K, at the distance you'll be gaming from, is just not needed and you won't see a benefit during actual use unless you're doing a side-by-side comparison. A 100" screen at 4K will be noticeable.

According to Dell website it states HDMI 2.1, but I’m a little confused now because you said HDMI 2.0

@@kb_szn It’s 100% HDMI 2.1 but with the lower 2.0 bandwidth. I’ve got the Dell G2724D which is exactly the same monitor, but HDR400 instead of HDR600 and it has the same HDMI 2.1 with 2.0 bandwidth. Still absolutely fine for variable refresh rate
It's HDMI 2.1
