Hey Loves ! This video was made Before Covid19 !
I'm excited to share this video with you guys on me, my boyfriend and his dad taking on Great Wall. I finally met the rest of the family after dating for 2 1/2 years ( Most of them live in China ). After being separated during my solo travel to Korea & Japan, we met back up in Beijing and saw some famous landmarks such as: Great Wall & Summer Palace.
* As for his family racism, I've avoided talking about it on camera as I always get emotional. I'm his first black girlfriend and they've always hoped we would just break up naturally but we're approaching year 3 sooo . . . His dad and the family of his age group has been on board but the rest hasn't accepted me nor do I think they will ever. It's heartbreaking as I'm close with my parents and my friends parent but knowing I'll never be good enough in their eyes makes me emotional.

In the beginning it felt very hurtful for both of us, but our relationship was more important than anything else. She did not show up for the wedding, once again our bond was more important. Also my husband did not cave in to any of the reasons she tried to point out.
You’re a beautiful young woman. Do not sell yourself short. Be careful about dating a man whose family doesn’t like you because of your race. I would hate to see you wasting your time.

Well its not a waste of time because she's dating him not his family. I know that we all want that close family where everyone embraces everyone, but sometimes there's a choice to make. Can't let family ruin your family because they live their lives exactly how they want to live it.

It is mostly the moms that get triggered by their kid partners race. Why? From experience, and even from friends I hear the dad doesn't care or mind but the mom is breaking things or disowned her son which happened in my case. My boyfriends dad was cool with with it and we do lunch together frequently. His mom wont speak to me not that I care .
Even it is the same races it is triggered them , I have many friends that their mothers preferred their choices , because we live with multi cultures

Had he told me from the start that his parents were racist, I would not have stayed but then again he didn’t know his family was racist either until dating me. bruhitsjessica we’ve been dating for almost two years. And no he didn’t I have always wanted to meet his mom but he tells me “I’ll introduce you when it’s the right time, I have to do a sit down with her”. The first he told me that was spring 2019... it’s 2020... still haven’t met her.

😱😖 Wait, so she doesn’t even know he has a girlfriend ? I would think after two years even if his mom is super racist, he would have this sit down with her and explain you’re the women for him ? For my situation, he didn’t know his family was racist until we started dating ( told his family three months in ) but hid that little fact until later. I met them over FaceTime shortly after then he didn’t meet my parents until 8 months in. My parents aren’t american and don’t believe in introducing so many boyfriends to parents so once I knew he was the one for me, he met them then we moved in together lol. Their only son is dating a black girl but I let him know from the start, I will not be your hidden girlfriend & the racism needs to be shut down immediately. No one has said anything racist to him at least. I get that he might be fearful to tell his mother but after two years of never meeting her and they live in the same country / city. Something doesn’t add up.
bruhitsjessica well he has told me he spoke to her about me. And he comes to visit me as we are in a short distance but still ldr. So she knows he has a girlfriend and she knows that I’m black. And like some of his family are very open minded such as his siblings they don’t care much about race as long as their brother is getting treated right. Also his aunt which is his moms younger sister has sat down with his mom and told her input on how his mom should more open and to just be excited that her son is in a good building up relationship. But his mom is very stubborn

I visited the Great Wall many years ago during a freezing cold winter. I remember the steps, the sheer awe and majesty and my unexpected sense of vertigo! I loved China and hope to return as soon as it is safe.Wishing you both all the best.

I’m Chinese from Taiwan and I’ve had issues with my family and people I’ve dated for lots of reasons, race being among them. Trust me when I say that his family doesn’t understand the pain they are causing. You two just trust in each other and they will come around. Even if not all of them end up being cool, the ones that are worth your while will show you the respect and love you deserve. If it’s any consolation, they are just victims of imperialism and brainwashed.

Lol, he always get so excited talking about it even to this day. The KFC is super bomb, so definitely try it. We love Shanghai ! That was our first stop in our trip 💞 Have you guys been dating long ? I think that if his mom is racist then that is her problem. If the rest of the family is willing to get to know you, good for them! Sometimes, these things take time when 2 cultures come together. But time and openness to understanding can change circumstances sometimes. It's not going to be easy. But I'll pray that his mom comes around.
We’re both praying for a miracle but honestly I doubt she’ll ever come around until maybe when we have kids. She still to this day denies we’re dating and doesn’t want to let anyone know. It’s not just her but most of his family that are old are just like her 🙄 I tried but I also told him I was not going to allow them to talk about me just because of my race and he made sure to shut that down with them 😊
There’s a biblical principle that says “ a man shall leave his parents and the two shall become one “! If you two truly love each other and according to this principle, then there’s no worries as it’s all about the two of you having a family life together!

You are more than good enough. It would be their loss if they think this way. It's on them not you. I'm certainly happy seeing you two together. That's all that matters. He loves you. What I don't understand is the very thing people from other nationality don't want to happen to them (eg. Asian hate ), is the very thing they do to others who don't look like them. And it's not just Asians who do this. Very cool giving his dad orange. Father's are always easier. mothers are another story. She's old school traditional Chinese hence a hard nut to crack. I think she will eventually come around because she will see how much you truly love her son.

It was so sad watching you crying and seeing how upset you were about how mean some of Joe's family were to you. I think when the time is right you should talk about it, if you feel comfortable enough to do so. Some people are simply devoid of feeling and empathy - and letting them know how crushing a blow it was for you regarding their rejection, would hit the spot, if not for all but for some. The bottom line being Joe loves you enough and wanted you to meet his family so the ones who chose not to meet you, the problem became theirs and not yours. Joe's dad appeared to be so sweet. You appear to be very brave, especially learning that you travelled solo to Japan and Korea - I have tried to travel abroad alone but find it hard to do so without close company. Good on you. It would be great to get some tips and pointers on being female and travelling alone.

His family knew about about me when we first started dating even though his mom couldn’t speak English, he wanted them to know he was serious about me. We are in 2020, the world is a melting pot different races marry all the time, you don't need anyone making you feel less than yourself. His mother does not have the right to impose her negativity on you, you love her son and her son loves you, she should have respect for her son and since you are a stranger in her Country, in any culture this is not how you treat people who are a guest in your own Country nor the potential wife of her son. Do not shed tears for other people's ignorance, it is very disrespectful attitude and the world is a big place for both of you to feel accepted and loved.

Again the effects of the China one child policy . What I fail to understand with parents is that they claim to want the best for their children, send them off to the West to get an education and exposure. Please note that for respect sake, she is your mother in law as you are with her son and living with him. That is a huge commitment to me as an African. In my culture you can never address your boyfriend’s Mum by name. She is also Mum to you . I have family members who married Americans. Day one as when they were still girlfriend and boyfriend, ground rule number ☝️, cannot address the parents by anything else but Mum and Dad.

Do you think Joe's mom/family would still feel the same way if you were white?
His mom might still feel the same and would still want this white girl to be chinese. His last girlfriend was chinese but didn’t speak it. As for the rest of his family, they’d be more accepting if I was white. One of his aunt in the US is married to a white trump supporter and he’s just as racist. He’s the ultimate cringe all around esp his cooking lol.
This is a concern I have as I enter into my own ambw. And as for your future mother in law, give her a little to realize that her son has "The Real Thing" and she'll come around. And for the racist uncle's cooking... Let's just say you know whose dish to avoid at the cookout.

Please don't think of his people as racist, they're use to their folk being together. Knowing that black groups don't have a great reputation, your man family loves him and want to be sure her making the right decision (choosing you).
Be patient and try to put yourself into their shoes. If you had a child and there was a race of female you wasn't that great with, would you be welcoming of your son to bring her home?
Be understanding and mind your attitude yet don't take disrespect either but keep in mind their old enough to be your parents, pray, put the Lord first and he'll do the rest.
Let them be in their feelings but remember this is a courtship and both of you are getting close, you really need to see each other and need to meet each other personal circles
We’ve been together three years, told her that I’m the person he wants to be with and they still can’t wrap their heads around me being the “right person” because I’m black ? They’re racist and the fact that you want me to excuse their racism makes me question your own character. If we let everyone just be in their feelings then change will never happen. I graduated with my bachelors at an early age & make double what my peers make at my age . . . sooo a stereotype doesn’t make up a whole race. As for his mom, how she feels about me would be how she would feel about you or anyone specifically not chinese. It’s not just with black people. You’d be bottom of her totem pole 🤷🏾♀️

When i made the statement about blacks not having a great reputation i was speaking about how others view us, before getting to know us as a people.
I know that not all of our folks isn't all those stereotypes but out here folks see us as a whole, which is sad. You like to jump to conclusions instead of asking questions and that's gonna pose a problem.
