Great job. Your engineerings skills are obviously coming along nicely but don't neglect the magpies. They're not going to feed themselves.
The industrial hard chrome is hydrogen embrittled. The outside layer(0.05" deep) is probably RC65 or better. We anneal it by induction before machining. the center is basically 1040 hot rolled.
Curtis talks. Just keep trains away from him. Lol , just found your channel going down the rabbit hole now.
the eyes are Inertial Friction Welded. I have made literally thousands of them. The chrome is best machined with a ceramic insert or by annealing the end first.
hope you specified induction hardened hard chrome bar.you can engage the half nuts anywhere because 16 tpi is a direct multiple of the lead screw pitch.
That’s good to know
The Pakistanis are good at those types of work
Dang that thing looks rough! y’all did a great job on the new one. Would you just look at it😂😂
Wow...pretty cool! Youguns doing the hard stuff...awesome
Cool shoutout to CEE, Abom79, and a few others I see :) Do you guys watch Snowball Engineering, or On Fire Welding?
Great job guys! Keep em coming!!!!
We’ve never watched Snowball or On fire welding
