    Looks Ike 8awg wire. I'm ordering mine now for my Tacoma! I have everything currently wired to separate switches. Right now I have a CB and rock lights and air compressor and train horns with all the wires running through my firewall this should be a great upgrade for my light bars and pod lights and everything else.

      I agree. Also the switches can be programmed super easy to work with lights to be constant on/off while also having other buttons programmed to work with the horn and only work while pushed.

      Thank you Stephanie. I have been really happy with this so far. I also liked the Mayello ditch lights, not bad for around $30 a set. I will look up the 2 lights you suggested.

      I am very happy with mine. I have about 6 weeks with it so far. I might get a 2nd one for the wife's car just so I don't have to drill the firewall

    I went with the Garmin Power switch but this one looks pretty good too.

      You talking about the $500 switch I see on Amazon?

    • @SubaruColorado

      The Garmin one does look nice. Does it have a fuse or breaker before it just in case? I did not see it listed that it did, so don't forget to order and add one if not.

      I am glad I could help. We are very happy with it so far. Plan to fill all the spots by summer. You can wire the "acc" wire to either constant 12v or ignition 12v. I went with constant 12v.

    I have ordered mine. My instructions wasn't very detailed on how to set the functions on the remote. Can you explain how to set the functions on the remote, greatly appreciated.

    Thanks ..just received mine from amazon today will be installing tomorrow..Do you known if there any way the Backlight color can be change on this system?

  • @SWEETSIDER
    @SWEETSIDER 3 місяці тому

    why not just jump the acc on wire to cable end coming from the breaker so its always on unless the breaker pops? only reason to use fuse box's is for key on power in my opinion. you had key off power 3 inches away from the input

    I ordered this unit as well as the lights for my 2022 GMC Canyon AT4. This is the best solution as not wanting to mess with the dash or connecting into existing wiring. Do you have to connect the ignition wire? It appears you do unless you want to flip the breaker each time. Now I have to figure out where to connect in the truck's fuse box. If they were only a wireless camera that was not in 4 figures. :)

    • @SubaruColorado
      @SubaruColorado  8 місяців тому +1

      The small "ACC" wire is required to either go to an ignition wire or constant 12v. You could either tap into the fuse box or just go to the battery but remember to put a fuse inline if you go to the battery. I prefer the constant 12v so I can turn them on from a distance without needing to get in the car.

      I thought that was the case but didn't want to assume. Also, did you use any loctite on the nuts to ensure they didn't come loose? I appreciate your response.@@SubaruColorado

    Ive no experience in wirings and electricals, are the instructions included easy to understand? I have a 23 OB premium im starting to build up .

    • @SubaruColorado
      @SubaruColorado  7 місяців тому +1

      The instructions are "ok", but it is a simple product to wire up. Follow my video as your car should be the same as mine, 24 Outback Wilderness. Basically you wire the big wire (either one) from the battery to the breaker, from breaker to the (+) side of the module. Wire the (-) side of the module to a ground or the (-) on the battery. The small wire can be wired to a constant 12volt source like I did (this lets you be able to turn the on anytime but also be warned as if accidently turned on it could run your battery down) or to a 12volt ignition source (this will only be powered when the car is turned on). This wire should be fuse, but they do include the fuse in the box, you could go straight to the battery but you would want to purchase an inline fuse for that. The only other thing to do is wire up your item you want to control so just run positive (+) wire (probably red but not always) to the (+) side on the module and the negative (-) wire (probably black but not always) to the negative terminal on the module. The only other thing to know it the module goes from 10amp to 30amp. So you will need to see what item you are hooking up requires how many amps. Pretty simple, just read the instrutions andfollow the video and I think you will be fine. The layout for the 2020-2024 outback is the same, the curcuits might be a little different from WIlderness to Premium but that is about it. Also follow the channel as I am building mine and 99% of everything that fits my car will also fit yours. I have a link in the discrption (affiliate link) for the Switch panel. Also check out Rival4X4 for your skid plates, I get nothing from them but I love the plates and they also have hood shocks that i will be installing and reviewing shortly, no more hood prop rod.

      It is wireless. There is a usb-c that can charge it up and then it is good for a long while. I haven't off-roaded since the winter is here but the bit we have used the lights I have only charged it when I first pulled it out of the box and still going strong on that 1 charge.

    Only problem is, is that any interference may disrupt the signal between switches and control unit and system can be hacked in to. Wired system would be much more secure and less susceptible to interference.
