My older bro passed away this year, when in 1999 we exchanged our N64 for our first PS with FF VIII, we had no idea this was going to define our lives as gamers for decades to come. This is the most important game of my life, and it was the same for him. I saw this video on his YT history from his computer, reminds me of him, of how we felt playing this, mostly him and me watching, remembering the music, the cursor noise in every menus....This will always be my go to game for all those reasons.

I'm 36 and this music brings back so many beautiful memories of childhood when everything was much easier and simpler. You just played and didn't have to worry or have to worry about anything. It's amazing what power music has. When I listen to these soundtracks, I get sad and happy at the same time. It's kind of the same for life: You beat the "friendship" game at some points at friends go apart too. A lot of activities go away with that. Just how we used to run around Balamb Garden or those Blue Fields... Maybe the games we used to play, or whatever we did with our friends when we hanged around together. But what is often overseen in videogames is how the characters might reunite once more for another adventure. It just depends, things doesn't stay the same. Never.
They said my Sisters Son is special but the truth is that he is just stupid. Jokes aside ff8 is realy nice but as the little Jrpg progamer tgat i was skippt all of the tutorials because they were in the oder games not relevant. The taurus broters fuckt me up and after little grinding i could not defeat even one of them and i got fuckt up even harder ^^

This music is beautiful and Good for the Soul. It has helped me in studies as well. It's great that You can stick this on or the Full Final Fantasy 8 soundtrack and just study for hours as it gives You a chance to listen to all the wonderous music of this beautiful game.

No no this game, if you want to enjoy it, is probably more like 60-80 hours. Just to slow down, read the story, check out the side quests and get all the GFs. This was absolutely one of the best Final Fantasty's. Hands down. Once you get the hang of the battle system and junctioning you can kill the game too which I absolutely love.
i know people love ff7 but for me this is the best one ive played. a bit too romantically focused but i guess that carries it alot too. those were the days..ff8, suikoden 1 and 2, castlevania sotn etc. how i miss my childhood. then even after a few years, when i would talk to a certain girl on the phone at midnight and at times, she would play 'the successor' for me using her piano. ugh.

I don't think Final Fantasy 5 gets hate, I think a lot of people just didn't get the chance to play it. It's one of the forgotten Final Fantasy games. I'm in a similar boat as Highbrow, I've mainly played 4 and 6-9, (haven't had a chance to play 10 yet, only played an hour of it.) I really want to play Final Fantasy 5, I just haven't gotten around to it and it's easy to forget about it because no one talks about it. But from what I've heard it's a very under appreciated game.
To be honest, yea, I loved V but I didn't get too far in it. I have yet to play VI as well but I know it's good. They're probably all good. I definitely know VII-X are amazing though. VII came first then IX and X. Now I'm playing VIII and it's giving IX a good run for it's money. Final Fantasy is cool.

I remember buying this game in September 1999 when it came out. I lived out in the farmlands and spent many nights playing it. I never beat it though. That's the saddest part. Maybe I'll beat the HD remaster I bought after I quit my EMS job. Maybe by September I'll beat this in order to do a proverbial toast as an anniversary gift. Twenty three years coming up for the US release. And time just keeps marching on.
Find Your Way has always been one of my favourite tracks in the entire series. This mission was also one of my most favourite in FF8. The story was actually rather dark and morbid compared to the majority of the game. Don't forget.. "F..FLOAT!!!!".
Theres nothing better to escaping reality then listening to these tunes while chilling alone....since a whole lot of us that played this will forever bind these fragments of love to ones soul and memory...

My favourite will always be FFVII (Not a Fanboy btw) but FFVIII also has a special place in my heart. Storyline and music was absolutely superb. The battle system could have been a little better but none the less this is one of the greatest final fantasy games. Nostalgia feels.
FFVIII was probably the last truly great Final Fantasy game for me. I related with Squall a lot - I was about the same age as him in the game at the time and had similar social difficulties. What inspired me was that he was strong enough to rise above it all and become the hero he was destined to become. I'm still working on that last part. :-) And of course - masterful interpretations here. Easily some of the best I've heard on UA-cam.
I think that this one is the best TPR's production by now. The way it reflects the original game's spirit is just outstanding. Or maybe it is just me being captured by my FF8 nostalgia again ^^ It was my first rpg and one of the first games I was really sucked in, so I really can't help going back to it all the time ;) And yes, I know it is not the best in the series nor the most successful, but I like to judge a game more for the way it makes you feel than for its factual perfection.

When I was younger my friend slept over, he hated video games. He turned on FFVIII to check it out just before I went to sleep because I told him it was great, when I woke up he was fighting those two iguanas at Edea's palace. The power of Final Fantasy.

Alone in Outer Space.. Squall's succesfull atempt to save her from death. Everything is right now.. Then ... then we got THAT picture of her in space later.. Back in time. THAT single image, had so given me so emotional impact that it haunted me as a younger man, cause I liked the character of Rinoa more than the other in the game, like a crush, almost. it really was heartbreaking, finding myself crying cause of it. It was a way more powerful, feeling than I ve got from Aerith's death.. Felt like it was real this time.. not from a game. I got that strange feeling of being lied by the game itself. Roses and Wine.. the song that is still haunting me.. Beautiful.

Final Fantasy VIII was my first attempt to Final Fantasy... I loved it most than others chapters... I love FF VIII... I love Squall and Rinoa.

Oh man, this is really good! You guys from TPR did a wonderful job. And this is coming from a guy who has been listening to the soundtrack constantly for the last three years. Damn job of Fisherman's Horizon and Roses and Wine, by the way, my two favorite tunes.

more than the other in the game, like a crush, almost.
it really was heartbreaking, finding myself crying cause of it.
It was a way more powerful, feeling than I ve got from Aerith's death..
Felt like it was real this time.. not from a game.
I got that strange feeling of being lied by the game itself.
Roses and Wine.. the song that is still haunting me..
