    I just got one of these second hand from a pawnshop and i love it. I got a heck of a deal with not only the weed eater but also the larger battery and the fast charger. I bought it for $120 and priced everything around almost $500. the weed eater alone is $170-$199, then the battery $99, then the charger $199. I am looking forward to getting the metal blade edger and maybe the chainsaw attachment.

    I have the whole set too. The string trimmer and its bump feed works well. The chain saw attachment cuts decent size branches. The articulating hedge trimmer does a nice job trimming the fig vines in the block wall. It conforms to a vertical cutting pattern nicely. The blades are sharp! The edger works OK as well. I haven’t used the extension yet. I recommend this kit!

    for those saying it sucks for those who bought the first gen trimmers. the two ways I have seen this sold is as a trimmer or as a pole chainsaw. I have all the yard tools and enjoy them. I can buy this as the pole saw and get the edger attachment, and the extender pole and im good.

    Got the Chainsaw/Pole Saw combo from Home Depot $860 with tax. Comes with chainsaw, pole saw, 3' attachment, 12.0 Ah battery, 8.0 Ah battery and 2 Rapid Chargers.
    The only thing about using the attachment pole is the unit is unwieldy and heavy, but for reaching high branches is a must. Wish they would come out with a cultivator/rototiller like Ryobi has. Would come in handy for my hiking trail build I bought the combo set for. If you think about it, it's basically $200 for each tool and battery. The 12.0 Ah battery alone is $250, plus you get the Rapid Chargers which aren't cheap either.

    Haha! Love the Video bro, nice little milwaukee hangout dance! I know it's an older vid, but hey, better late than never. I gotta tell you, after using mine for a few months now, i just skip grabbing the gas powered stuff! I use the trimmer and pole saw at least twice per week. If I can reach it with the milwaukee I won't get out my stihl 131 pole saw. Just really a great tool. I want the hedge trimmer attachment now. I haven't used it, but it looks like the hedge trimmer attachment is beast too. For anyone debating this purchase, just do it, you won't be disappointed at all! That's a fact jack!
    Side note..... First thing I did was flip the string cutter tab around. It makes it a 16" cut from a 14". HUGE difference. Also, when I ran out of .80 I loaded her up with .95 string. And I use the 12.0. Holy moly! The thing is nuts. Here's something fun too. My brother sold his flexvolt trimmer the day after he used mine. And bought the FUEL. 😂
    Thanks again for a great vid. Though I'm very late on this one. 🍻

    I don't have this model but I do have a Milwaukee weed wacker something I learned and did after getting mine last spring. the little piece that cuts the string that is on the under side of the guard. is set for a smaller string cut. if u reverse it which takes 5 seconds to do you will see a noticeable difference, works more like a gasser. just a quick fyi

    I have all the attachments to the store it is truly amazing the only thing I noticed about the video please note to anyone that has this when you put the attachment in sometimes you have to turn the attachment or bump the trigger to be sure that it goes all the way in I noticed when he put it in on the video it was still about 3/4 of an inch from being fully seated you run the risk of stripping the drive mechanism if you don’t have it fully seated the line on the tube should be right at the edge of the power unit

    I have the whole set. My wife feels they are very heavy, and she is extremely strong. The oil tank leaked on the chain saw. I found the bolts holding the tank were loose. I tightened them but they came loose again and leaked oil. I'm going to try Lock tight next time. I was able to trim over 150 Walnut trees with it. If you add the extension to the saw it will bend the poles. I have mixed feelings about the tool because of the poles bending and the leaky oil tank.

    I am gonna leave this here as a warning for anyone who wants to get one of these:
    Constantly running the trimmer without stopping has a chance of melting the battery terminal connections.
    Love the tool , but it is a huge issue.
    I melted my 12ah battery (just sent it in for service this week) and also the tool a bit , so sent in the powerhead too.
    Seems to have no issues if you take some short breaks inbetween , so just good to keep in mind.
    Can also happen with smaller batteries.

      @@Beardman56 Spoke with a guy who had the same happen with 5 , 5.5 and 6ah batteries.
      But with mine does seem to be an issue with the 12ah one. For whatever reason , the battery isn't as secure as the 5.5ah one i use and moves/wiggles while in use , which can build up a lot of heat.

I have now given up completely and brought the Ego line trimmer and its amazing last for 1/2hr on 5Ah battery I was lucky to get 5min with Milwaukee or melted batteries

    Ever experience with the string trimmer head when the trimmer stops when trigger is fully pressed? Mine did that yesterday a lot with a 8.0 battery fresh off the charger. It would be cutting then all of the sudden stop. To get it to start again I had to let go of the trigger then press and hold again. It did this multiple times until I got frustrated and stopped cutting grass

    Just got this yesterday. Used it today and I’ve noticed on mine the power head vibrates a lot and it’s not the most quiet. Kind of a rough sound not that high pitch whine sound I expected. Actually I only expect the sound to be coming from the trimmer area. It’s there and the power head tho. Not a big deal. Just something I’ve noticed. Same with yours or did I get a weird one?

    Great Job on the Milwaukee review. How do the Milwaukee tool compare to the Toro lawn tools. Toro, an American Co., has three power levels : a 20V Max, Power plex 40V, and a New 60V line of out door tools at moderate prices. Are you planning on doing any Toro reviews soon. I'm planning on going cordless on my outdoor tools and would like to see how the Toro compare to others of the same power. Thanks for the hard work on the Milwaukee tool review.

      I'm not so sure about that. The weed wacker, blower (or hand trimmer) and 9a/hr battery kit was $300. This kit with the weed wacker + pole saw is $478. If you want another attachment, it's over $100 for each of them. Maybe this kit will go on sale, but right now, you're paying quite a bit for the attachment ability and attachments. If you don't need them (I don't really), then it's hardly a better deal.

You're right about rotating the hedge trimmer head but I also like to rotate the string trimmer head for edging sidewalks and driveways. I guess the only way to change my mind is to send it to me to compare. I did lawn care for 4 years so I've got a few hours under my belt but have yet to get my hands on a battery unit. @@garydonais758 Yeah, admittedly I've only used it around a 5 acre farmstead so far. But its handled everything I've thrown at it so we sold our gas powered Stihl weed trimmer after getting the Milwaukee. Same deal with the chainsaw (though we still have our gas Stihl on hand at the moment.) For all our uses here on the farm, it's looking like we can finally get rid of the majority of gas powered tools. (I think the tractor will be safe for a long time.) :)

    • @garydonais758
      @garydonais758 5 років тому +1

      Well, here’s the good, the batteries have three year warranty’s and the trimmer has a five year warranty and if you’re already invested in the platform with drills and what not, the cost of replacement for either or is pretty low so in that regard I think there a good bargain. Also the hedge trimmer is exceptional. It seems to run forever on a single charge. The blower is good for small jobs. It’s lightweight, it’s super easy to use. And admittedly, I would push these tools to the absolute limit I have situations where I trim for more than an hour at a time and on high settings this fast drains the batteries and they’re quite warm when I’m done I’ve only had them shut down in really high temperatures 90 degrees plus. still have mine and I do use it, I just can’t rely on it to be a primary trimmer for my needs.

    • @StariusPrime
      @StariusPrime 5 років тому

      Gary Donais I bet the outside temp does play a important factor to potential overheating. I don’t think I’ve used them when it’s that hot out. I do have that blower too, lucky enough to get it for free with the purchase of the weed trimmer during a Milwaukee promotion last year. I haven’t used it much yet, though. In my day job, I work at a store that sells contractor grade tools and Milwaukee is our main brand, so I admit that I drank the “red kool-aid” years ago. But only after seeing how well they hold up and perform. And Milwaukee has one of the best warranties out there, so that’s always a comfort.
