I had abs last summer lol now I don’t. But I’ll get back to it. Only took me 2 months. I’m not overweight and it’s not hard to lose weight and get in shape. I see results pretty fast and everything.
But I tend to give up my happiness to deal with toxic people. Drains me and I end up stopping what I’m trying to achieve to go be in the same boat as them because I feel bad they aren’t happy.
No more of that shit though. It’s my life. I’m not having anyone run it. If they aren’t happy, doesn’t mean I can’t be happy. People love to tear down happy people because they can’t be happy themselves.

Thank you Amelie. I was fortunate to have your excellent video pop up on my UA-cam home page. While I am 3 months into my journey this was just the review that I very much needed to confirm that I had a good understanding of the process and only needed to be consistent and patient. Just what the Doctor ordered, very professionally done, and extremely helpful. I have recommended this video for friends who are getting interested in getting healthy. You have just told them everything that they need to know to get started off on the right foot for a healthy lifestyle; having abs is cool too. I'm sure that they will thank you also. Keep going girl. You could be very good in this field professionally. Good luck if that is the course you decide to take with your life.

I’ve been taking to my therapist lately about food related issues and my struggles with food. I’ve always been very skinny, but a few years ago was kinda chubby and decided to start restricting my food and working out, also started weighing my food obsessively. I’ve recently started going to the gym and have began lifting weights, but my struggle is more so the food and my relationship with food and the food scale rather than the workouts. It was really nice to hear you say it can help to track your food but it’s not necessary as long as you’re eating the correct foods. Letting go of the scale and that habit of weighing my food has been so difficult for me, it’s so scary not knowing how much calories I’m eating and how much of each macro is in what, but slowly I’ve been increasing the amount of food I’m eating and have been incorporating more protein and veggies in my diet as I know that’s what my body needs to fuel and allow my muscles to grow and recover properly. This video gave me hope and inspired me, thank you for your words of advice 🥹

Being in a caloric deficit is not the only way you can lose fat. Being/eating in maintenance you can also lose fat. It’s called body recomp, where you lose fat and gain muscle at the same time, which is how you stay the same weight. Also, being in a caloric deficit = losing weight but losing weight ≠ losing fat. Losing weight can include losing fat but also losing muscle mass, water mass, etc.

    Important thing to note:
Not all women are supposed to have visible abs. To attain the "6 pack" look you have to have insane genetics and be at a very low body fat. A small minority of women can attain this in a healthy way, but most people would suffer health consequences if they tried to get shredded abs. It would also mean a very strict dieting regime and possible period loss, as well as mental fog, tiredness, cravings and more.
Going for a more toned look is more realistic and healthy. Most women can attain some amount of definition in the stomach area, although once again this is not necessary. As long as you're a healthy weight you don't really need to worry about getting abs.

Great video! Ab workouts will not magically lead to abs BUT ab workouts are essential (especially for athletes). Your core is one of the most important groups of muscle because it allows you to stand upright, run, and breath (controlled breaths not involuntary). Having a strong core is so important and can reduce rate of injury!

    • @strawberryinsomnia9188

I'm honestly a little confused as to what I should do. I have a BMI of about 20 and I'm maintaining my weight at 2000 calories per day. I'm doing resistance/strength training at home using dumbbells and resistance bands for 30 minutes daily (10 arms + 10 abs + 10 legs) plus at least 10 minutes of stretching (I'm following UA-cam videos). I'm not really supposed to lose weight, because I'm trying to get my period back (I lost it due to anorexia years ago). Should I create a deficit or change my workouts? I don't do cardio because I'm afraid of losing muscle and becoming more skinnyfat, slowing my metabolism down in the process. Any advice would be helpful.

To have visible ABS I have to get body fat percentage at pathologic levels. I am endomorph, insulin-resistant. I am on a diet since I was born, as I have also gluten and dairy allergies. I had also 2 pregnancies. My doctor said that for me it's impossible unless I do abdominoplasty. I also wear a super tight waist trainer. I am terribly struggling losing fat. The endocrinologist gave me the berberine. I hope it will help me. However the waist trainer did not fit me before my last pregnancy, now it fits me. I am fed up of seeing all this girls with visible abs on the street or in the gym. Some of them are older than me. I am thinking to order burning fat medications to treat obese people, but I don't know where to buy.

Abs are not feasible for 80% of females. You guys naturally hold more bodyfat then men. Its more important to stay healthy than to "look good". A healthy BF would be around 20-25% but abs aren't visible until 10-15%

no true!! it def won't be as fast as if you were in a surplus or maintenance but if youre coming from not working out ANY lifting will help you put on muscle even if youre in a slight deficit!
