Is the Kicker that the Rams drafted, Joshua Karty, the underrated steal of the entire draft??

Sean McVay is the Los Angeles Rams Football Head Coach for the 2023 NFL Season but after the 2023 NFL Draft the Rams could have more trades and free agents and rookies come in with highlights from 2023 NFL Draft prospects. Matthew Stafford, Cooper Kupp, Van Jefferson, Puka Nacua, Kyren Williams, Tutu Atwell, Cam Akers, Tyler Higbee, Ben Skowronek, Tutu Atwell, Joesph Noteboom, Rob Havenstein, Brian Allen, and Steve Avila should be playing great for the rams offense highlights. Ernest Jones, Aaron Donald, Cobie Durant, Derion Kendrick, Akhello Witherspoon, Jordan Fuller, Kobie Turner, Russ Yeast, and Quentin Lake should get Rams football defense highlights.

I think Bowers would've been a luxury item, Murphy would've been a great fit but I honestly believe the Rams plan C was the perfect fit for us. We took care of 2 needs and it couldn't have gone any better for us.

The luxury is trading next years 2nd rounder for a stubby nose tackle

      Murphy was never an option.

The Rams probably saw Brock Bowers as a generational player so they wanted to see if they could trade up to draft him.....but Verse+Fiske fills a huge pass rush hole left behind by AD

Verse and Fiske ended up being an absolutely unbelievable deal. Bowers is great but there are only so many balls to go around.

i would’ve loved to see us with bowers i think him and stafford would be great, but it worked out the way it should’ve. we needed to work on d-line, and let me tell you verse is a top 3 defensive player in the draft

8 and a half? And missing playoffs ? Man, sometimes it baffles me what these people say. What else do the rams need to prove to you? 2022 bad season due to injury ridden season across everyone on the team. 2023 recalibrated "rebuild year" they come out firing, fall into a slump and turn into one of the best teams in the nfl towards the end of the year, but it was a rebuild year? This year we beef up the line, have arguably one of the best lines in the league, hopefully a healthy coop and a ready to puka. Stafford healthy. Kyren will be healthy. On defense we got in my opinion the best DE in the draft. Got one of the more explosive DT's in the draft I don't care what people say rams prove time and time again they know what their doing. If Rams beat the lions last year I think its safe to say we would've beat anyone up until the NFC championship. But we won't be making the playoffs right right right

That’s people that think they know ball , but they really don’t , you can’t have Stafford and Mcvay and have them as a 8 win team , the disrespect

As already mentioned in the comments, Bowers would have been a luxury pick. Our TE room will produce just fine IMO. Our defensive line definitely needed to be addressed with the retirement of Aaron Donald. With Verse and Fiske, we did that.

IF... the Rams drafted Brock Bowers, he would have been a B-U-S-T on the team. There's NO WAY the Rams would have got the appropriate return from his draft position. People NEED to stop thinking from their heart and start thinking from their brain. The evidence backs me here...
Since Sean McVay has been head coach of the Rams, they have utilized the '11' personnel grouping (1x RB, 1x TE, 3x WR's) more than any other team in the league. McVay tends to utilize it somewhere around 90% of the time, it's his DEFAULT grouping and only ONCE did he deviate from it and that was in the second half of the 2019 season.
Back then, the Rams run game was pathetic and only out of necessity McVay started relying more and more on a '12' personnel grouping (1x RB, 2x TE's, 2x WR's). During that timeframe, Tyler Higbee was the #1 rated TE in ENTIRE NFL. He was better than Travis Kelce, and better than George Kittle. People tend to forget that Tyler Higbee was the #1 rated TE in his draft class but weeks before the draft got into a bar room brawl which removed him from many teams' draft boards. But... that doesn't mean he lacked talent, he just lacked "OPPORTUNITY" in the Rams offensive system. During those last 6-7 games of 2019, Higbee was being incorporated into the game plan similar to how both the Chiefs and 49ers incorporated Kelce and Kittle into their game plans.
So... after PROVING himself in the class as the best TE's in the game, people expected McVay to utilize the '12' grouping more the following season but nope, McVay went back to his '13' grouping around 88% of the time.
There's NO QUESTION about Bowers talent, the problem is and why he'd bust with the Rams is McVay wouldn't use him enough in the passing game to warrant his draft position ESPECIALLY if they had to give up additional draft capital to trade up to get him.
Now, I'm sure there's people out there who at this point will say something along the lines of, "McVay will find a way to..." to which I say, "Yeah, sure, I've heard that before so I'm not falling for the banana in the tailpipe." It should be remembered, that that was EXACTLY what people were saying about McVay "Unlocking" of finding a way to better utilize Tavon Austin back in 2017? and more recently Tutu Atwell. So no, McVay isn't infallible and can't just magically incorporate someone into the offense. Truth be told, his first draft pick Gerald Everett was another wasted TE pick that couldn't get on the field because of Higbee.
So... there's 7-years of data that indicates McVay WILL NOT make the TE a bigger part of the offense which doesn't bode well for anyone thinking Bowers would have played well here. In fact, the Rams THIS year are loading up on the offensive line which indicates the plan is to make the run game a bigger part of the offense this year. And if the Rams are planning on running more, then Colby Parkinson is a MUCH better fit for what McVay does with the offense than Bowers would have been. Parking is BIG, like 6'7" BIG and is very good in supporting the run game. Additionally, he has a nice big catch radius so if the Rams are only going to throw to the TE position less than a half dozen times a game, than Parkinson in a limited targeted capacity is a MUCH better fit both schematically now and fiscally into the future.
