  • In this video I share with you how I decided to mount a transom mount trolling motor on my boat. I mounted it using 2 different types of brackets to make the easiest quick removal system making it look like it was never there. I hope this helps anyone out in the same situation I was in.

Awesome! I've been looking for a less invasive way to mount one on my bow rider. This gives me a few ideas. I added a wireless rc controller on a trolling motor for the kayak - but thinking of incorporating something like that for the boat as well. My primary use would be like you mentioned break downs...or ease of docking / launching / maneuvering the boat in the water around people etc and less on the fishing side (though that is still a plus!) My initial idea was something like the outdrive mounted minn kota rt160 but it could steer independently of the outdrive.

Thanks. Glad it helped. That's is a great option, never thought of using it to doc. Mine is a bit undersized though. I like being able to set the boat up for different types of outings with as little evidence of what was taken off.

Great concept! I’ve been toying with the idea of installing on the bow but don’t love the idea of the torque it will place on the fibreglass up there and I’ll end up with a bracket in the way all the time when cruising. This is a great idea! Thanks for sharing. How’s it been working? Did you have to add the modification for the step?

@@daleofalltrades o ok. I'm just not sure what trolling motor to get that will work with the mounts in your video. Do u have any suggestions on a good trolling motor?

@@ga8901 I'm not by any means an expert on trolling motors. It really depends on what you want to do with it. If you go most of the trolling motor web sits I believe there are charts to show what is recommended for your boat baced on size and use. The little 12v used one in my video works fine. Hrs of use before battery impact. It is a tad underpowered though
