I like the idea of cutting it I half and seeing how it works.

Thanks Arlene, for this I completely took the tab out all together 😊

I agree with you, armhole facing is not necessary. I too use bias tape. You inspire me.

Hi Nateida I agree with you about how to fix it. Yes take the tab out and make it thinner and that will work! Other than that it looks good l like the colors. Nateida you got this! ❤

Sure did, I took the tab completely out and it fits so much better and eliminated the gapping in the armscye area😊

I love the fabric is very pretty. Maybe you should just consider just taking the tab out and make it a V-neck or make the tab a little bit smaller around here. Thanks for sharing.

I was also going to suggest a v neck!

    • @SewNaturalDane
      @SewNaturalDane  Місяць тому

Yep, that's what I did, took the tab out and it took care the gapping I was having on the sides as well.😊

Worth fixing because you look beautiful in that print. It’s going to take work though (the seam ripping). Tank style, either v neck or round neck. If you still don’t like it, make bias tape or use as pocket bags for the orange twill fabric.

Yep, I fixed it, took the tab out, which also fixed the gapping in the armhole quite a bit 🥰

Hey Nateida! I'm with you on the tab and the top. I gave my top away because the tab was so high. Your fabric is so pretty and thank you for the shoutout!!!! I so agree with your review. Kudos for doing this top!!!

That isn’t a tab, it’s a knot (well that’s what butterick is calling it. 😢 The knot is gather at all the ends, meaning if you look at the v shaped neckline, it’s gathered at the knot. This would have made the knot narrow instead of being as wide. That would have helped your armhole also because it’s would act like a dart from the neckline side. The shirt looks a mess closeup but when you showed you wearing it, it looked great.
Long story short, the color looks great on you….you are a beautiful sister so I can’t imagine anything looking bad on you. 🙂 Look closer at the picture on the pattern and you may see what I mean. Good luck. Maybe I’ll join in on your sewing challenges.

If you don’t like it, you won’t wear it. Personally, I would take the whole tab out and leave the “V” alone. I love the fabric, unfortunately, I can’t wear those colours other than the purple. The orange material for the bottoms is a perfect match.

Exactly 😃. I gave an update in subsequent video, I took the tab out.

Do you have a video about using bias binding instead of facings? I tried it on my last couple of makes and I'm having difficulty with the neckline. Specifically, my last make was a v neck and it's wearable but not great 😂 still better than facings though!!! Thank you as always for your tips and inspiration ❤

I know you don't like to make adjustments. My solution would be to totally remove tab and just have a v neck. Fix the pattern to please yourself If you choose to use this pattern again. It's pretty fabric but I think I'd donate...

Once I took the tab out the top fits so much better and eliminated the gapping. 😊

That tab is awful, I would make it half the size it is. Can you widen the neck around the sides of your neck. The whole neck doesn't look like the pictures on the pattern. Could you put some darts in the bust? Darts from mid arm where the excess is.

Yeah the tab is too much. Make a smaller tab with your orange fabric or put a decorative chain.
