In fact, Carlsbad and Encinitas have done this and now, most of North county feels institutional everyday, like we're stuck in an office job land. San Diego has more a greek vibe, nothing like LA, and beautiful clay with a dry plant life that would go well with Mediterranean architecture, especially in the Summer when the grass is dry and yellow, like the modernist apartments in spain or greece
