Thank you Rabbi Jacobson for your words. They have really touched my heart. I am German and come from a mixed faith family, Jewish and Christian. Many years ago I left the church because I felt uncomfortable with the direction and dilution it was taking. Now that I get older I become more and more in touch with my Jewish heritage and the comfort it gives me reading the Tanakh and listening to people like you. So to me it was not even a seconds hesitation to know where my heart belongs to. I think and pray every day for the hostages who I fear many have been forgotten or have been given up.

I'm not Jewish but there is nothing on this earth that would have me at one of these protests. I think enough time has passed that the 7th is just a date to most. Its not for me, I thought long and hard about what I felt I had to do. I watched all I could find of the footage that day. Those people are in my thoughts constantly. I hate to say it but I think the world needs to see that footage, they need to see that the same people who did that still have hostages. Hostages who are still living that day over and over again. If the world started screaming free the hostages instead of free Palestine this would be over already.
No justification for violence but Palestinians have been subjected to many years of oppression and injustice. They need to learn how to live in harmony and respect each others. They BOTH are responsible for what is happening and are their future.

Israel is responsible for Hamas and others purposely destroying the agricultural business that Israel created in Gaza? If the Palestinians didn't want to live in partitioned areas in the West Bank they should have committed the Second Intifada. At every turn they refuse a sovereign state then they commit acts of violence and that is somehow Israel's fault and it is accused of "oppression" and "injustice." The oppression and injustice is administered to the Palestinians by their own corrupt leaders as well as most of the people themselves for supporting them. If anything, Israel has nothing but self interest for the Palestinians to live in peace with them. However, at every opportunity they reject peace; they reject a state of Palestine because it means also a state of Israel. They have always rejected two states for the pursuit of destroying Israel to replace it with Palestine.

What happened on October 7?
Hamas managed to breakout from Gaza prison and kill IDF soldiers and kidnap soldiers and civilians. However some civilians were killed in the process. That's why there was celebrations initially. What Hamas did was something impossible !
At minute 12:00 the rabbi says Egypt should take the Gazans. 70% of Gazans are refugees from Israel proper. Israel was required under UN resolution 194 of 1948 to take them back. So does Israel expects the Gazans refugees to escape to Egypt and later they can go back? Why not allow the Gazans to go back to their original villages in Israel?

However, I live in a sleepy somewhat “liberal” Boston suburb and I would say with some conviction that most people see this campus hysteria for what it is. A couple that I know (blue-collar regulat people) recently took their family to the Auschwitz exhibit. They are apolitical busy people, yet they saw the importance of this. Decency and virtue will prevail. Never again!

I am horrified by the blatant Jew hatred from young people on campuses, their ignorance of history is astonishing and they are showing a real lack of compassion. I am equally as horrified by the islamofascists who the met police are allowing to get away with behaviour no one else would. I think a small minority of the West is causing a great deal of trouble. I am reminded of the quote all that is necessary for evil to prosper is for good men to do nothing. I think we all need to speak up against this demonic evil wherever we can and encourage others to do so. Our influence can be much bigger than we think and through speaking up against evil in our social circle we will encourage others to do the same hopefully.

He was hoping the $ would go to build infrastructure & real services for the people. When Israel left Gaza in 2005, they left dozens of greenhouses in 2005, but the Gazans looted, trashing & walking off with irrigation hoses, water pumps and plastic sheeting in a blow to fledgling efforts to reconstruct the Gaza Strip.
American Jewish donors had bought more than 3,000 greenhouses from Israeli settlers in Gaza for $14 million and transferred them to the Palestinian Authority. Former World Bank President James Wolfensohn, who brokered the deal, put up $500,000 of his own cash. But the new Arab government allowed this to happen, & instead of encouraging prosperous business of selling produce, they built terror tunnels & bought weapons to destroy Israel.

Yes; Jordan which used to be 77% of Palestine was cleansed of all its Jews as soon as it became an Arab state. The Jews had never intended to do the same with Arabs living in the land designated for the Jewish state. But I think it was just assumed - naively, as it turned out - that those Arabs who didn’t want to live as minorities in a Jewish state would all move to Jordan, where there was plenty of room. Everyone knew that once the Jewish state was established its population would explode through immigration from Europe and MENA, which it did.

With thousands arriving in the area to attend a concert during the weekend of October 7, why ... instead of beefing up defense -- did the IDF actually WITHDRAW forces from the Gaza area in the weeks prior to? IDF spotters along the border reported that something was going on inside Gaza that appeared to be some kind of practice. The spotters' reports were also disregarded.

If the Jewish people are themselves divided on this issue, of course the rest of the world will be divided as well. Many of this young social justice activists are Jewish youth. This needs to be resolved on the core, the family, its families themselves that are divided. Many of the young people that are anti-Israel, their parents are pro-Israel and have supported the Israeli people all their lives.

Had the Arabs agreed to peace then, maybe none of this would be happening. The truth is that it isn’t about the land- it’s about Arabs hating Jews. And this will continue regardless of how much land they are given. They were given Gaza and they chose to continue attacking Jews in Israel. Israelis were displaced in order for this to happen, and it wasn’t enough. This is what “it’s not about the land” means. For sure, Israel is precious to us as Jews.
For one thing it doesn’t work. The constant manipulation of public opinion, especially youth opinion, is such that Israel gets told off whatever it does. For another, the numbers of Jews needing safe haven in Israel only rises as Muslim countries expel them.

There are a number of YT videos of people of Ashkenazi Jewish heritage, living outside of Israel who have taken a DNA test. Shockingly, many have found that they have no or very minimal genetic connection to the Middle East. So, they are not of Hebrew (Semitic) descent. Can one say that the vast number of Ashkenazi Jews in Israel do not have ethnic historical claim to Israel lands?!? Are they just White settlers (or Khazars) of the Jewish faith? Is that why it is illegal to do a DNA test there? By the way, Ethiopians Jews also have no genetic connection to Israel.
