I’m Romanian American but unfortunately I’m also an Upstate New Yorker, and sadly don’t have a CCL. Glad to see you brothers enjoying it though. Closest I could get is my VZ24 Romanian contract Soviet capture from the battle of Stalingrad, in which coincidentally, I lost two uncles in. Mia. Bodies never found.

Well it’s better upstate than down in NYC for us gun owners. VZ24s are nice, I have the 98/22 which was the gun the vz24 replaced for the Czechs. Also were your uncles with the 3rd and 4th armies on the axis side? -N

I just got my hands on a Romanian Tokarev for a very attractive deal. Mine is a 1953 dated model matching serial numbers. I almost bought a Chinese variant that had two slides, one for 7.62x25 and another one for 9mm. The Romanian model feels much, much better in the hand and the workmanship on the Chinese one was way more crude in materials and assembly.

Yeah that goes for every Com bloc gun made by the Chinese, never a quality piece. Then the Russian ones are too expensive, so everything in between usually is good enough. Did yours have any feeding issues? -N

@@SurplusBoysChannel I haven't tested it out yet, but I am planning on taking it out to the range soon.

@DesertMav alrighty good luck, mine needed a good amount of polishing to get it to feed correctly.

Excellent video... Unfortunately, the Romanian version and about every other variant of the Tokarev pistol are becoming difficult to find! Although ammunition is not too hard to find, it's a great cartridge to reload. It's possible to load s 90 grain bullet to a blistering 1,800 fps, according to the Hornady reloading manual.

That sounds pretty nuts for a tokarev, I reload for some oddball cartridges but not 7.62x25. I’d imagine that velocity would push the recoil spring and falling link hard. -N
