You make it look so easy! As a Liberian American, born in America but both of my parents are from Liberia, I never use to like cooking Liberian food because my mom just wanted me to watch her without her telling me what to do. I always thought it was too much work and too many steps, but it’s simple. She use to be upset with me because I would be the first one out my room when the food was ready 🤣😭 When I moved out in 2020 I was forced to learn how to make my favorite Liberian food through UA-cam😅 This is currently my favorite Liberian soup right now. I can’t wait to make this😋 it will be one of the first meals I will make when my husband and I move into our new home soon.
aww that's great and congrats on your new house. And I feel your mom on that because it's always the case, those who don't know how to cook always wants to be the first to eat.
Love this recipe! I put oxtails in mine, though I will say don’t allow your beans to soak more than 10 hours!! I forgot about my other pack of beans and they all germinated and grew roots 🥲🥴
Damn sis Winn you put your foot into that bean torborgee it looks yummy 😋 one of my fave African Liberian dish I like the way you prepared yours thanks for sharing the recipe with our, dear 🙏🏽🙏🏽😋😋😋
I'll suggest you cook the peppers with the beans together but don't blend the beans and the pepper together. Blend the beans separate and make the beans toborgee, than blend the pepper separate and eat it on the side with your meal.
Yes you can. The soda might not react to it like the way it will react to the torborgee oil and it might not have that real torborgee taste but you can still use it.
@@damawahkollie2261 I don't know anyone that does but you can google search African food market, or Liberian food market, you might be able to find it there.
Yes but if you don’t have it u can use red oil. It might have a slight difference in taste and the soup might not have the real torborgee taste and look like the way it will when you use torborgee oil but it’s not that big of a deal.
you can cook the beans with the peppers but before blending the beans, remove the peppers and blend only the beans or cook few peppers on the side in another pot and add it to yours when you're eating that way your mom will be able to eat the soup.

Hey this is my favorite Liberian dish and I love spicy but I don’t want to over do it any tips

Is the oil just palm oil
Does anyone know what the soda do?
Anybody else laughed when she tried to pronounce the beans?💀😭🤣🤣🤣🤣
lol i know😂
Hiya!
Can I use normal red oil if I don't have the torborgee oil? It's harder finding Liberian things here in the UK.
Yes you can. The soda might not react to it like the way it will react to the torborgee oil and it might not have that real torborgee taste but you can still use it.
😋😋😋
Thanks sweetheart ❤️❤️❤️
you welcome.
Hello do u know anyone that sale torborgee oil in London? I really need some please if u can help me.
@@damawahkollie2261 I don't know anyone that does but you can google search African food market, or Liberian food market, you might be able to find it there.
Do we have to use Toborgie oil to use it
Yes but if you don’t have it u can use red oil. It might have a slight difference in taste and the soup might not have the real torborgee taste and look like the way it will when you use torborgee oil but it’s not that big of a deal.
My mom give me a liberian cook book. It's also good watching how another person makes it.
that's cool that your mom give you a Liberian cookbook.
Damn in love pepper too, but if I made it like that for my mom she wouldn't even try to eat it.
you can cook the beans with the peppers but before blending the beans, remove the peppers and blend only the beans or cook few peppers on the side in another pot and add it to yours when you're eating that way your mom will be able to eat the soup.
I really need to come find you mehn
😂😂😂
What’s torborgee oil ? Is it just the normal palm oil ? 🤔
No it is not the normal palm oil. it's different in smell and taste.
Which type of beans do you usually cook with beans torborgee
I used the cow peas
Where can I find torborgee soda?
You can find it in an African food market. You can also used baking soda. It does the same work.
I used to always cook the beans and meat separately 😩
Hi ma. Did you use 2 bags of the beans or just one?
I used 2 bags
Looks good sis, but too much oil for me due my cholesterol.👍
thanks sis. you can always add less oil.
Please make spaghetti and beans
spaghetti and beans????
I can't spell the name but you put spaghetti, beans, cucumbers, pepper sauce, onions, eggs and mayonnaise.
