I know what the problem is. The so called interviewer is asking loaded questions. I don’t blame Ford for being testy, everything question is a trap or snare
Ford jerked people around to amuse himself. Judging by his life's work he was very different than the terse, gruff, sarcastic curmudgeon he pretended to be. I imagine that a stranger attempting to chat with him could tell him to go jump in the lake and Ford would take more kindly towards him.

John Ford once said, “ it is easier to make an actor out of a cowboy than it is to make a cowboy out of an actor”.
I'd hear something lke that in Texas. "He's all hat and no cattle."
Ben Johnson may have been the best example.
