When you said you parked your black van alongside the road for the night, I had an idea that you could get some of the neon-orange striped reflective stickers to add to the outline of your van. If you can't find them at an automotive store, they are pretty standard at RV/camping stores. And they might save you from being slammed into while you sleep. Again I will suggest you do your computer work at a library instead of a retail place where you are tempted to spend $$$. Happy travels!
The headless statue is probably St Denis of Paris the first bishop of Paris. He was (spoiler!) beheaded as a martyr. It could be apocryphal but it was popular legend in the the middle ages so there are many depictions; statues are very common. Thanks for letting me know about the mansion I will probably check it out. I live pretty close to Glendale Falls and go there a few times a year. Clark road is pretty sketchy for my car so if conditions are not good I just go the back way through River RD which is longer but you are on paved road for most of the way. On River rd and not far from Glendale Falls is also Devries art studio. He is a sculptor and has a trail around that studio with his art works up something you could check out if you are interested (mostly a Spring to early Fall).
Wonderful colors in this vid! Yes NE beats FL for color. Hope ur head feels better. Maybe some low key exterior lights that don’t blow ur cover will give you back ur living room in the winter. :)
Just found your channel yesterday n wished it had been sooner❤😂❤ I do not use any fragrance enhancers in my van (4yr+ vanlifer here). I do use coffee grounds n baking soda to absorb n neutralize odors though. I also use vinegar water to clean n spray n believe that helps. Shorter days do make a huge difference for me in Ohio as well n with the added time change, its a necessary lifestyle change for sure. I take the dog out using a headlamp or flashlight depending on the area. Having to be parked for the night by 5pm is so unnerving, lol. Wishing you the best❤👍❤👍❤👍❤
love the vid, keep em coming. I recently took a road trip where I stayed in my car. It was fun doing all the prepwork with making custom fitting window covers for my car / figuring out all the supplies I needed. Turns out it's not all that fun when it's 90+ degrees during the night, but aside from those struggles, it was the most fun I've had in a long while, and I will do it again.
Hey Matt. Love the videos. Keep up the great work. I love that you aren't afraid to give your opinions on things and often has me and my gf laughing. Side note for caffeine, you can take L-theanine with it to make the caffeine have an extended release in your body(why I like green tea). You can also take Taurine to mitigate the negative effects of caffeine such as arterial tightening / arterial rigidity. Just a couple ideas if you want to reduce your intake and help with headaches. On those days when you just have to get the caffeine fix and you take Taurine, it will ease the negative side-effects. Great work on growing your channel. Been watching since you had like 177 subs. 💪😎
I'm working on a curtain that seals the bedding, and clothing off from the rest of the van during cooking sessions. An identical curtain seals off the cab area (or cockpit as you prefer) and doubles as a stealth blackout curtain. Still trying incorporate a stealth power ventilation system that forces the cooking odors out through the window closest to the cooking process. Some meals are probably not van worthy and are going to be cooked on a drop down table that extends out of the side door opening. I was introduced to Odo Ban years ago by someone that cleans up homes that have been afflicted by some of the worse odors known to man. (I'll leave that to your imagination as anymore details would be extremely unpleasant.) What else, what else...oh yeah...maybe start diluting your coffee with decaf and progressively either water down the coffee or add more decaf. It's a slow and steady process. I have never totally eliminated caffeine, but I'm a bloody saint compared to most coffee drinkers. By the way, this advice is totally free. I'm not charging you one red cent for it. All I ask is that you pay it forward.😂😅😂
I like where your head is at on the stealth ventilation. In my Promaster there are tons of open spaces on the underside that have caps which can be removed, where air can be brought in or sent out from under the van without needing to put holes in the roof or even in the side (away from the exhaust of course). I custom installed an ecoflow wave 2 split air unit, put it under the bed and only had to place a single black exhaust vent low on the side where it is already black trim and placed a duct up to the bed area (next time around I may try to even eliminate this side vent but that will be a little more involved). The split air intake happens indirectly through the bottom, pulling in at the floor edges. I got multiple 6" diameter fans that draw only 1-5 watts each depending on the setting that help facilitate this.
@@talesfromthecrypto985 Ah, a fellow true stealthier. I have been contemplating almost exactly what you indicated. By cutting some large fans into the interior trim on our '07 Ford E350 15-Passenger Wagon, it should draw air through both the body panel drainage and any removed rubber plugs. Could draw in carbon monoxide if one was foolish enough to run the engine while operating the fans, but you can't have everything.
Do you ever wish that you had bought a bigger rig to live in, like a small box truck? I am retired and thinking about living in a van or box truck for the next 2-5 years. I like moving around.
Matt what does it say in Japanese on that black vertical in your van? I grew up on Main Street Russell when i was really young, had/have family in Chester, Piru, Pittsfield, Indian Orchards etc. so its been a fortunate accident to stumble upon your channel.
"These little leaves that act like little sleds under your feet" 😂
For real they are worse than wet rocks
Great video Matt. Loved the comment "Funny, somebody in bottling has no taste." LMAO
Right angles in nature are very rare...

Good idea thanks

Thanks for the info. I will keep my eye out for the sculptors studio.
Try a spray can of Ozium for smells I used to use it in my car back in my smoking days. ✌
💯🤝
Agreed - that is goood stuff.
I hate the shorter days, less sunlight but just think December 21 the daylight starts to get longer.
Looking forward to the gradual upward trend

It’s a ton of fun, and saves a ton of money too. Enjoy the adventures!

Appreciate the support! I'll look into L-theanine and Taurine stuff, I could use all the help I can get
Love seeing the foliage from your perspective. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Matt, love the content. So glad to see someone van-living in the Berkshires. Keep up the good work. Lmk when your in Pittsfield again
Thanks! I’ll let you know when I’m headed back through that way.

All good advice as always thanks my man

That cave was neat. My son lives south of Boston, me western NY-would be a great day with him exploring there.
The cave is pretty awesome and not well known
"Now it smells like an Indian grocery store that burned down in a fire" 😂

Not at all. Smaller vehicle, easier parking.

What brand awning did that guy have that kept breaking? I don't want to buy it.
I should have asked, but he said it was an all electronic brand with no manual way of deploying it.
@@undertheradarvan Thanks. That's why I'm only buying a manual one; not electric.
We have two seasons in FL. Hot and hotter.
I like your videos... the lighting in the van is not super extra fun.
I believe you are an Astral being. When I died in a hospital, I saw vivid, bright colors, so I, too, enjoy bright vivid colors.
Why people want to go in caves is weird 😅 not me.
It makes you appreciate the outside world more
