Trains at Wilmslow, WCML - 11/1/19

- Welcome to the latest episode of Big Trip! Today I am at Wilmslow on the West Coast Main Line where services are seen by Virgin Trains, Northern and Transport for Wales. Thumbnail to be added.
Wilmslow was the quietest of the three stations I visited on this day however was still pretty busy in itself, it had a fantastic amount of variety around including some diesel and a lot of electric. The station has some views on the approach from Manchester and had a nice bit of freight going around. The announcements are a bit faulty here though, as you'll notice it cut out a lot during the sequences. However this is a fantastic station that I cannot fault at all, the service pattern can get slightly predictable but is still brilliant and I'd recommend it.

Great video Kieran!! Nice variety of Northern trains you got there. I agree with you on the voyager thing, I think that pendolinos were built for much faster services.
I'm surprised you like the new TFW livery Kieran, it is so bare, nice to see so many 319s, a favourite of mine, thoroughly enjoyed watching, keep up the good work and a thumbs up from me mate

The once a day train that calls at Wilmslow is a Cross Country service in each direction

huh! 156-460 coupled to a Pacer! i thought 156-460 was always coupled to 156-459! I actually went on 460 (with 459 attached) in late 2018 from Manchester Piccadilly to Preston and it was a disgusting unrefurbished thing lol... seat padding was partially gone, the bits of the seats you sit on were loose, broken seat-back tables, manky carpet, dirty panels, grim toilet, and Northern's random fluorescent light tube generator produced a lovely mix of Philips and Osram...

The Bolton line is now wired up and has been since December but because of the timetable mess of last May EMUs wont use it until May
