When I lived in the Hawkesbury I never left footwear outside. It was good practice to stuff a bit of newspaper in them as well. I still do that now.

Terrifying how "don't leave clothes on the floor" implies that they're already in your house, and all you can do is try and prevent them from going into your clothes. 😬😂

Putting a foot into a boot that contains a scorpion is also not a lot of fun. A family member found a tiger snake curled up inside a tennis shoe, fortunately before trying to put foot into shoe!
It's the sider in your jeans that you don't find will cause problems.
You could practice your photography. A set of coasters and place "mats" featuring "Dangerous Critters from my home" could be just the gift for your friends and family.

Hi Dave , look's like this little fella can give you a nasty nip, lucky for us in Wales we don't get spiders like this but we get the adder the only venomous snake I've not know people to get seriously ill from a bite, Take care there's some nasty little buggers out there🕷🕸🕷👍
