I've found that synthetic fibers seem to not piss off arachnids as much as a horsehair or straw YMMV but it works for me. As a side note I also give one to guests who are usually scared of spiders to pet my T. blondi and she loves it. She's never been super aggressive, as she's always liked to to be handled ever since I got her when she was spiderling, but her size is intimidating to most which makes the brush a way of her breaking the ice.

4:00 -- _"The spider at this point has gotten very very angry. What an ungrateful twat"_ --- This honestly sounds like a line taken from a monty python sketch.
1:45 “Help! I’m being abducted by a giant alien! IT’S PROBING ME!”
I'm petrified of spiders. Keep up with your videos and commentary, because although she freaked me out, you made me lol maybe one day I'll get over my fear
“When you’re so fat and unathletic”Jesus. The SHADE. But it’s true. They’re kinda hapless at times.
Then again she had the right to be pissed. You did kinda ruined her home.
The tread mill sections killed me.
Cue obligatory "you're so cute when you're mad" remarks. But seriously, the little claws at the ends of her "paws" are adorable.
LMMFAO spider treadmill that ACTUALLY MADE ME LAUGH OUT LOUD i didn't just put lol to be nice hHah
imagine being the spider.
a person comes in and rips you out of your home, brings you to a place to get cleaned and brushed and then when you are all done you have a brand new home with more stuff in it than your previous one.
Hey wait a minute... fool of a Took" didn't Gandalf use that expression with Pippin?! Lol!!
Finally someone gets the LOTR reference!
I caught it too. Now with that said, please tell me you named her Shelob
@@ultilinium8 I named her Ungoliant. So still a Tolkien character.
@@BugsandBiology Nice
@@BugsandBiology that's awesome!
It's honestly insane just how damn *massive* those fangs are.
This is one spider that I wouldn't want to run into if I was a prey item!
Eh, at least it means a quick death. Would rather be eaten by a funnelweb than a mantis or katydid.
@@BugsandBiology True that.
Are those grain mites? Drying out the enclosure temporarily apparently kills them off
Think they are, but funnelwebs cannot tolerate dry conditions so that's really not an option. Substrate change seems to be best in this instance.
This video is awesome, lol, and I LOVE your commentary!! 😆
Thanks! Glad to hear you enjoyed it!
We use predatory hypoaspis mites to remove parasitic mites. You can find them from a guy on Facebook. $12.50 + post can treat about 40 animals. Can get you more details if you want
I would if mites were a major problem i.e. if a large number of animals I owned had serious infestations, but because it is small scale and only a single animal, I felt a clean and a subsequent rehouse was the best option. Thanks for the info anyway.
this was such a great vid, wonderful work! Made me really happy, I think she loves you back tbh
I’m watching this in my bed. Now I feel things moving in my bed.
Funny enough just because you don't feel them doesn't mean they arent moving in your bed.
@@lastalive4809 thankyou for that.
"what an ungrateful twat" had me pissing myself lmao
AwwwwwwW🥰 So ☺️ cute.
I expected it to be another misinformed black house spider clip. I am very happy to learn the contrary. Keep up your great work my friend. You are needed now more than ever
2:25 BRO GET THE ONE ON HER BACK ffffffff Im havin an anxiety attack fff
I don't even want a spider but I clicked out of curiosity and your personality drew me in! New subscriber!
Somehow missed this comment before, so sorry for the late reply, but I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the video!
Even though she was in a threat pose. I think deep down she was into the cleaning 😂
Indeed. ❤😊
Well I have to say this is the first time I’ve watched a UA-cam vid running the gamete of emotions, terror, disbelief and wetting myself laughing all in the course of a few minutes. Kudos.
You'll have to watch his centipede rehouses then
I've always found humor to be great at easing fear, which is why I try my best to incorporate it in my spider videos.
0:47 Little bit of an attitude?
You rip apart her home, fail to scoop her up, insult her for some time before she start showing her fangs and then after continued nagging starts to bite.
She was pretty docile all things considered!
Yes, he called her fat, lazy, and a twat.
Pretty impressive looking fangs, you have to respect a spider that sports a set of these. Yeah!
"Medically significant spider" lmao
Horrifying
At the end of the day, funnelwebs pose very little threat to people. No one's been killed by one since an antivenom was developed, and that was about forty years ago. Even without antivenom, the mortality rate tends to be around 5% or lower if I recall correctly.
This music reminds me of RuneScape music.
Also fun video, spider has no idea you’re trying to help her out and just getting so pissy haha.
What's the point of loving something that doesn't love you back?
Married men:
"What an ungrateful Twat!" I friggin' lost it when you said that. LMFAO 🕷️
Australia, keep your goddamn spiders.
Gladly. I love these guys!
@@BugsandBiology I admit IV always been fascinated by them but I'm affected by some atavistic fear inherited from early mammals or something. Theyre frikkin terrifying.
Fear of spiders tends to be culturally inherited, or at least enhanced. Either way, learning about these animals always conquers fear in the end, and the fact you find them interesting is a great start!
@@BugsandBiology I am sorry, your continent would be a vacation spot for a Catachan regiment as it seems like EVERYTHING there is willing kill you and eat you with joy.
@@Questknight12 We have only a couple of things that want to eat you.
Spiders and LOTR references, I'm so here for it!!
I certainly seem to appeal to a very niche community haha
“which gave the spider plenty of time to run around the plate and show off her crappy climbing skills, or should I say nonexistent climbing skills”
That part got me good 😂
Always fun to trash talk my funnelwebs!
He’s just roasting the fuck outta the spider lmaoo
This made me less scared of spiders actually.
Awesome! That's my goal
Do you think the spider gives a f*** when it bites you and your flesh starts rotting?
@@herrwagnerianer1739 still scared of spiders, lad?
@@herrwagnerianer1739 Funnelweb bites don't have necrotic effects. The massive majority of spiders pose a negligible threat to humans. Heck, even funnelwebs are pretty much a non-issue to one's day to day life.
@@BugsandBiology Yeah, where we both are in Brisbane, we are practically surrounded by 4 species of funnelwebs (to the north, south and west) but the vast majority of people that I've spoken to don't even know that they live here
No mites were removed that day
so funny!
Thanks haha. Always try to add some humor in the funnelweb videos; makes them feel less scary to viewers.
She's so too cute to be angry. She angy
Hi I’m back
Greetings again
Another youtuber was bragging about how large his funnelwebs were. Yours absolutely crush his
Thank you for helping me manage my arachnophobia!
No worries! Always happy to hear my videos are helping people with their fears.
Idk what it is, bud, but I love your attitude in these videos! 😂 "when you're that fat and unatheltic, you gotta have some way to impress people." 😅 Lmfao your nonchalant approach to spiders that would make average Joes run across the room is grand! I first watched a couple of your Coyote critique videos and I gotta watch your centipede videos as that's the animal I'm most interested in. And I trust you for not hyping up the fear factor like others who make videos to tell people about them (looking at you, Giant Desert Centipede lol.) Much respect to your channel, I'll be watching more!! 💜🕷🪳🐜🐝
Your a good spider mom ❤️
Bless you friend. Beautiful lass of a spider
She sure is a stunner!
I’ve always wanted a Sydney funnel web. Would love to find a breeder somewhere in the states.
‘What an ungrateful twat’
I’m fucking dying. The video is already interesting but your commentary just makes it that much better.
Thanks hahaha. Always found a bit of dry humor helps.
Love the lord of the rings reference 😂 “this fool of a took forgot the lid” 😂
That’s one angry spider
You just wait until the giant spiders from outer space use their brushes to free us from our dog infestation.
My left ear really enjoyed this video.
Funnel web spiders are the best looking spider species that i've ever seen, the entirely design on this creature are just beautiful
Yeah they're absolutely gorgeous in my opinion. Super cool looking!
@@BugsandBiology couldn't agree more sir!
