Good race. A podium is a podium, is a podium, no matter how you get it--it's still well earned. Racing is tough, nothing is inevitable. Midway through the race you mentioned cutting the corners and why it wasn't a penalty like in other sims. . . And I was like, Hell Yeah! In rFactor 2, not only would it be a penalty, but you'd loose traction and the car would loop around on ya At least it always did for me. Excellent race, thanks for sharing!
RFACTOR 2is exactly the same I was thinking of. You would definitely lose control as if you were hitting a pile of boulders and get the track cut penalty.
Good racing as always. Nice wheel as well! Though that thing wheel will NEVER be used by my hands...lol I can't do anything smaller than 300mm(290mm at the VERY LEAST with Open Carting/Formula), for my hands are TOO BIG for such "Fisher Price" steering wheels...lol Though, as you've mentioned, I believe the penalties for TURNS 5 & 8 have been recently changed over a few years, due to giving way to Formula racing, at Long Beach. It became more of a beneficial attraction for the drivers to hit higher speeds, to be had on the backstretch, and for the fans to enjoy. I believe many of the older Simms haven't really made many changes to the older tracks, with the newer regulations placed on them to fit today's racing series. You'll find moments like that from time to time on certain circuits and Simms, with less lenient penalties on certain corners/straights.
When I started sim racing back in 2010 or so after some frustration a light bulb went off. “Race the track, not the cars”, came into my head one day. My whole racing changed. I don’t think you really have that problem but just thought I’d drop that on you. I have the formula 2.5x wheel also
