Today were going to try set some crab pots overnight...we dun do overnighters due to to many times we have been raided but will try this time discretely.

I've had my pots in for 2 months an yet too catch a sized crab... Pirates keep pinching them

I have a video request for next time the weather is bad, any chance you could have a chat about how you find spots that you think are worth sounding for fish?
I live off townsville just moved here 2 years ago and I know there's alot of good ground between shore and the reef bit dot know where to start sounding!

Crabs are smart. They can see the orange pots an know somethings not right an not go anywhere near it. Black pots work better. And Also look for natural dirty water, idk what it is but they seem to like it I’m guessing they feel more comfortable an safer in the darker dirty water..

@@hogsiefnq118mate I was just saying what iv learnt an seen. I have a lot of friends that are pro crabbers including one of my uncles. If you look around a lot of pro crabbers use darker coloured pots… never said you won’t catch one in an orange pot. Just iv noticed over the years darker pots always seem to have worked better.
I use mullet its better because its oily. I always do good

Hi thanks for watching here in cairns we have alot of ppl going through others crab pots and taking any legal crabs and if yor unlucky they steal the pots completely. I nick name them pirates or bluntly thieves👍
Yep never new there was so many dog people in the world till i moved to cairns. Probably got 5 legal crabs in the year an half ive lived here and gone threw 12+ pots cause of theives. Nearly given up on crabbing in cairns.
Yet i can go down south to my uncles hut an got 7 legal bucks in 1 night from 4 pots. Cairns is a joke.
