When Meng or Haku was wrestling for WCW in Orlando and when our sons were still young teenagers I met him in a grocery store. After a brief pleasant conversation with a true gentleman I asked him if I could bring my sons in from the car so they could meet him. He was most gracious. I showed him respect for his talents and for his kindness. I guess I'm rather glad that I did.
Jake Roberts was once asked about Meng, and Roberts said (paraphrasing) "If I was locked in a room with Meng and given a gun with only one bullet and told we couldn't get out until one man was dead, I'd shoot myself rather than risk pissing off Meng"

Andre probably backed down because he probably would have killed Brown in a real fight. He didn't back down because he was scared, he back down so he wouldn't have to hurt Brown. Andre was 7' Tall and over 500lbs. Brown was 6'2 and 250lbs. Give me a break. lol

Search for luchador Cavernario Galindo, I remember a story for a match between Gory Guerrero (father of Eddie) and Cavernario Galindo. The Caveman had the reputation of being the stiffest mf, and always ended up bleeding. Both of them had a years long feud, so they got a No DQ 2 out of 3 falls match. By the third round they got so bloodied and beaten that couldnt shoot continue the match and the audience got so enraged that the police had to enter to control it. Cavernario and Gory even got up and started to interchange closed fists punches.
Was surprised not to see Dan Severn. The story of him threatening to turn the rumble into a shoot because the bookers tried to strong arm him into joining the ministry is one of the best stories I’ve heard.
I don't care what anyone says, if Severn did that there was no legitimate wY they would have stopped him without ruining the rumble. Dan Severn was and is a ridiculously tough man

Well, when folks respect you, you do not need to punch them in the throat. My understanding that with Taker it was combination of the fact that he was indeed incredibly strong and tough (Not on the level of Ron Simmons, as he himself admitted, neither did he have the skills of Severn, Shamrock or Blackman and I can guarantee that in a real fight, Severn, Shamrock or Blackman would rip undertakers head off), and the fact that he was a very fair man, who did not have any favorites and wrestlers could count on him being fair. And yes, I very seriously doubt that Taker would do well against Brock Lesnar in a real fight. Because unlike Undertaker, Lesnar actually has a lot of MMA experience

Hawk passed away years ago from a heart attack. If you look back at his most muscular days, he was likely on large amounts of steroids. They're terrible for the heart. I met Ron Simmons as a kid. He ran a gym in Cedartown, Georgia and my grandfather literally drove us over to the gym and I have a picture of me and Ron with him holding a fist up to my face. I was probably 8-10 years old or something.

My understanding that with Taker it was combination of the fact that he was indeed incredibly strong and tough (Not on the level of Ron Simmons, as he himself admitted, neither did he have the skills of Severn, Shamrock or Blackman and I can guarantee that in a real fight, Severn, Shamrock or Blackman would rip undertakers head off), and the fact that he was a very fair man, who did not have any favorites and wrestlers could count on him being fair. And yes, I very seriously doubt that Taker would do well against Brock Lesnar in a real fight. Because unlike Undertaker, Lesnar actually has a lot of MMA experience

I have seen that picture that you're referring to; the picture of the can of beer in Andre's hand. The can of beer looked like a toy in the palm of his hand.
I honestly thought nr 1 would be Taker, but that might be coz im european, we dont get WWF/E on the tele, and its i have watched it very sporadically over the past 30 years so my knowledge of Meng/Haku is name only.

Hawk passed away years ago from a heart attack. If you look back at his most muscular days, he was likely on large amounts of steroids. They're terrible for the heart. I met Ron Simmons as a kid. He ran a gym in Cedartown, Georgia and my grandfather literally drove us over to the gym and I have a picture of me and Ron with him holding a fist up to my face. I was probably 8-10 years old or something.
