For me Rose is far from the worst companion I've ever seen (That honor goes to Turlough) and while not exactly my favourite (Tegan Jovanka gets that honor) Rose is still pretty cool as far as being THE companion that managed to kick the show back in gear in 2005.

I always interpreted the scene differently, losing Rose may have had a huge impact on the Doctor, but I don't believe he would have gone suicidal because of it, he has lost a lot of companions in the past. I always believed the reason he never made it out in time was because he hated himself, more specifically he hated what he has just done, essentially killing a bunch of innocent children who were not responsible for the racnoss queen's actions, essentially in that one scene he commits genocide against a species and this causes him to have a severe PTSD episode about when he killed the Time Lords and the Daleks. Actually, when Rose tells The Doctor about the Dimension Cannon, I'd like to think he sort of gets a small glimpse of how much she did, because obviously it was a massive task she underwent, trying to find the right universe to go back and warn him in. It not only speaks volumes about how much she truly loved him, but about how determined she was to save the Universe. It WAS epic. And he was so proud he giggled like a schoolboy in love. Adorable.

Will Stewart It's alright, I'm just watching different videos and looking at some comments. I've kinda became obsessed with DW again especially 10's era which is my favourite. I loved the comedy Donna brought too, she was funny, sassy and a loving caring person underneath. Martha was serious at times, she was sassy and caring also. Martha didn't have an easy time with The Doctor, the way he treated her etc. Martha did prove that she was a great companion in the end all the things she did for The Doctor. I love 10's companions, Rose, Martha and Donna for different reasons, sometimes I favour one more but regardless of that, they all were good companions for different reasons, I'm also glad they all got along when they met, no rivalry at all. :)
Despite all the near apocalypse going on, Rose takes her time to fangirl about the Doctor's hair. XD So now we know what her favorite bit of his is, I suppose. For Clara it was the eyes, for River it was possibly the smartass attitude and associated grin. There is certainly alot to fangirl about with this individual. XD
I absolutely LOVE that little nod to Torchwood and the little tune that plays in the background when Rose mentions them. I'd love for Torchwood to comeback into the Doctor Who universe but I dont think thats going to happen. Although the 12th Doctor did tell Ashildr about Jack so maybe?
Even though journeys end was so sad it's still a great episode. It was amazing seeing all the companions together in the tardis. Brilliant just brilliant.
I like all the doctors companions they all have there own little thing with the doctor wealther it's his granddaughter his bestfriend or like Rose the one he loves they all bring something.
I didn't appreciate what a truly magnificent episode this was the first time I watched it. On further viewings, it imposes itself on your psyche. At times it's very, very dark and it's wonderful
Even though it's been a couple of years now, THIS still rocks. Much love for Rose and Donna here. And the line about 'Really great hair....' Still makes me larf...
Rose is fiercely loyal to the Doctor. She never let him send her back without him. She became Bad Wolf; she was willing to loose her mum and dad in Pete's World. Ten was so proud of her when she found a way back to him, but . And she's so very like him with the saving the world and the "don't salute" and the "you're brilliant." But what really makes me smile is the way she admires his hair.
Those two together with the Doctor in the TARDIS. Probably a good thing it didn't happen, or the increase of sass would have probably jumpstarted a regeneration.
Rose did something incredible. Davies made her so ordinary in her life but showed her emotions and her brightness underneath the struggles of making ends meet can shine through. She needed the Doctor and the Doctor needed her. I don’t want none of this Amy and Clara sub theories and ‘part of something bigger’ bullshit. When Clara became a Dalek I gave up on Doctor who. They’ve completely lost sight of what makes Doctor Who so special. Donna and Martha were also great in their own ways. Martha was to show what sets apart Rose from any other random human. It emphasises the Doctors relationship with her and even brought out the negatives of the Doctor and his selfishness. Furthermore, Donna became the friend that helped him who just wanted a laugh. God I miss proper Doctor Who.
Still get shivers from that. One of the best episodes ever and for sure Billies and Catherines strongest performances in Dr. Who, somehow very ironic that it is without the doctor...
I loved this conversation. I think this is one of the (if not THE) best scenes of Dr. Who (that I have scene, which is only the newest ones, plus a movie and one of the 1987 series episodes. Anywho, thanks for putting it up there since I love love love the interaction between Donna and Rose in series four. Erin
God, how I wish the Doctor could've seen Rose like this...intuitive, taking charge more than ever before. She would have made the Doctor so proud, and he'll never know just HOW MUCH she did.
this has to be one of the most powerful scenes of doctor who or at least the 10th doctors run, all these years later and it still hits me, when they are talking about the torchwood team and you realise there's no one left, no one who can save the day and they suttely play a piece of the torchwood theme just bring forth your emotional attachment and then agin when Rose Tells dona that she was ment to be there with the doctor and save him, The Doctors theme plays, I love this episode
That would be brilliant. We could see their reactions to all the atrocities that happened in this episode. We could get some funny quips from Jack about how the Sontarans look like potatoes. We could get a heartfelt scene between Gwen and Ianto saying goodbye to each other before they sacrifice themselves. And finally, Captain Jack transports himself to the Sontaran homeworld to avenge his friends.
Rose: "We're lucky. It's not so bad here, Britain hasn't got that much petrol. But all over Europe, China, South Africa... They're getting choked by gas." Donna: "Can't anyone stop it?" Rose: "Yeah, they're trying right now, this... little band of fighters, on board the Sontaran ship. Any second now..." *Sky eruptes in flame, then fades* Donna: "And that was?" Rose: "That was the Torchwood team. Gwen Cooper, Ianto Jones. They gave their lives. And Captain Jack Harkness has transported to the Sontaran homeworld. There is no one left..." This is the kind of world-building and lore that I miss from pre-2010 NuWho. RTD literally did the MCU before it was cool, and it would be an understatement to say I was "disappointed" when Moffat and Chibnall didn't follow along with it. I'm so glad RTD is finally returning. I hope he brings back the expanded world of spin-offs and crossovers.
I KNOW. I love how Rose is so badass here, and you can tell that the Doctor has had such a big influence on her, and has helped her come into her own, and you can hear her reflecting on that by saying "I'm sorry. So sorry."
I think Turn Left is one of my top most fave Doctor Who episodes, just because of the emotions of everything - because you see a world where things could have gone so wrong if the Doctor hadn't been around, if Donna hadn't been around to stop him. I love Donna Noble, and I love Rose in this moment encouraging Donna.
1:37 It's nice to see that, even with the fate of the entire universe at stake, the time can still be taken to appreciate the Doctor's really great hair. Rose Tyler: A girl after my own heart.
The release of the Dimension Canon audios really do wonders to explain why Rose is so different in this episode. Not only has she spent years trying to get back to the Doctor, but she's also been hopping through multiple doomed universes, seeing parallels versions of both herself and her loved ones die over and over again, and constantly being let down. They're pretty bleak.
Josh Nesbitt this was such a beautiful and real scene, a great character moment. I love Donnas ‘I’m so tired’ line because this version has just faced hell after hell and you can see on her face she’s just absolutely exhausted with life, brilliant dialogue and brilliant acting. Such real characters. Nothing in moffats doctor who has come close to this scene it’s embarrassing, he’s too obsessed with sticking as many one liners in his episodes as possible and solving episodes with nonsensical timely wimey ‘everybody comes back to life’ endings.
This episode ("Turn Left") takes places in an alternate universe where Donna never met the Doctor, and as a result the Doctor died in the events of "Partners in Crime". Therefore, he wasn't around for any of the subsequent episodes, and so Sarah Jane and co, Martha, and Torchwood all had to do the things the Doctor was meant to do, and died doing them.
I have to be honest, I'm not entirely sure how some people can hate Rose. She did everything she could in this episode to save the universe in the Doctor's place. More than that, she's always tried to help - she showed the world that even the most ordinary girl with the most mundane life can save the universe...

To most people the one common rule established (and humorously quoted by John Nathan Turner back in the 80s is) "No hanky panky in the TARDIS" which is why most people grew up with the conception that The Doctor should have no romantic ties to anybody, especially not a human who he will outlive for eons after she dies.
And Rose being the companion that RTD Chose to romanticise The Doctor lead to a massive split between the fans who came in 2005 vs Fans who've been watching since the 60s, 70s and 80s.
Discounting whatever meaningless life she lead before she met The Doctor, I tend to disagree with the notion that Rose was as selfish as many claim considering that Rose could've been easily substituted for anybody else on Earth and I think most people would act as she did in those circumstances regardless of connections (A Boyfriend in 'Rickey' Her mother Jackie, wasting her life eating chips, watching telly and going to bed)
And lets be honest here if you saw The Doctor turn up, all smiles and leather jackets, offering you a chance to travel through space and time I sincerely doubt you would easily pass that up if you could suddenly be lifted out of your shiftless, boring life.
What I think some older fans also had trouble getting to terms with was how RTD's soap opera influence meant that The Doctor wouldn't move on as easily from companions as he did in the Classic Series.
To use an apt comparison, Adric. He died in Earthshock and immediately after in Time Flight he went with the mentality of.

Whereas Ten brooded (for understandable reasons considering that he was still healing from the Time War) and to have that which comforted him ripped away would clearly leave some mental scars leading to Martha's unfortunate situation of being "The Rebound"
But despite Ten's mistreatment of Martha it was because of that which he learned to no longer contrast everyone he came across to Rose and as such became accepting of Donna and eventually did recognise Martha in her own right rather than look at her as "Not Rose"
By the time of Series 4 with the constant hints of Rose returning I think this was where their hatred came to boiling point because of how it showcased that Tennant's era was entirely defined by Rose rather than Classic Who's tendency to move on once a Companion either died or said "Fuck this I'm leaving"
And once the whole romantic sub-plot was dealt with by leaving her on Pete's world with the Meta-Crisis Doctor I think fans were sick to death of her hogging so much attention.

I Am The Doctor -RUN- leave out "love you"
Roses are red,
The T.A.R.D.I.S. is blue,
The Doctor one said "Rose Tyler-"
But he couldn't say "I love you"
CRYIN'
and then he married another girl, the end
I like all the doctors companions they all have there own little thing with the doctor wealther it's his granddaughter his bestfriend or like Rose the one he loves they all bring something.
Kelly Carberry He absolutely loved River
I didn't appreciate what a truly magnificent episode this was the first time I watched it. On further viewings, it imposes itself on your psyche. At times it's very, very dark and it's wonderful
Love that the bad wolf theme is playing in the background lol
Even though it's been a couple of years now, THIS still rocks. Much love for Rose and Donna here. And the line about 'Really great hair....' Still makes me larf...
Rose and the Tenth Doctor were always such a great pair. Loved them!
"I'm so tired" - I felt that
Rose is fiercely loyal to the Doctor. She never let him send her back without him. She became Bad Wolf; she was willing to loose her mum and dad in Pete's World. Ten was so proud of her when she found a way back to him, but . And she's so very like him with the saving the world and the "don't salute" and the "you're brilliant."
But what really makes me smile is the way she admires his hair.
Love the little sample of the Torchwood theme 👌
Those two together with the Doctor in the TARDIS. Probably a good thing it didn't happen, or the increase of sass would have probably jumpstarted a regeneration.
"Some really great hair" ...We are all Rose :P
This music gives me chills
Aww, my favorite episode.
The day Rose took control.
Just like the Doctor.
...Promised I wouldn't cry.
3:30 rose doing a good impression of the doctor,
Still get shivers from that. One of the best episodes ever and for sure Billies and Catherines strongest performances in Dr. Who, somehow very ironic that it is without the doctor...
all three companions martha,, donna and rose, saved the doctor
THIS SCENE MAKES ME CRY
I loved this conversation. I think this is one of the (if not THE) best scenes of Dr. Who (that I have scene, which is only the newest ones, plus a movie and one of the 1987 series episodes. Anywho, thanks for putting it up there since I love love love the interaction between Donna and Rose in series four.
Erin
God, how I wish the Doctor could've seen Rose like this...intuitive, taking charge more than ever before. She would have made the Doctor so proud, and he'll never know just HOW MUCH she did.
Was I the only one to hear the Torchwood motif i, the background when the Atmos burnt up
It sure is
Yeah it adds to feeling of hopelessness when it hits you there’s no one left
When rose was like "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." I was shook
it was brilliant how the different reality showed how much chaos there would be without the doctor
this has to be one of the most powerful scenes of doctor who or at least the 10th doctors run, all these years later and it still hits me, when they are talking about the torchwood team and you realise there's no one left, no one who can save the day and they suttely play a piece of the torchwood theme just bring forth your emotional attachment and then agin when Rose Tells dona that she was ment to be there with the doctor and save him, The Doctors theme plays, I love this episode
What's coming?
The darkness.
*in the distance*
I belive in a thing called looove!
This is one of my favourite scenes throughout Series 4, I just loved the return of Rose in Turn Left. Arr, I miss the RTD era. :( Liked (Y)
I hope big finish one day makes an audio drama about this alternate universe torchwood team and how they fought the sontarans.
They're getting choked by gas."
Donna: "Can't anyone stop it?"
Rose: "Yeah, they're trying right now, this... little band of fighters, on board the Sontaran ship. Any second now..."
*Sky eruptes in flame, then fades*
Donna: "And that was?"
Rose: "That was the Torchwood team. Gwen Cooper, Ianto Jones. They gave their lives. And Captain Jack Harkness has transported to the Sontaran homeworld. There is no one left..."
This is the kind of world-building and lore that I miss from pre-2010 NuWho. RTD literally did the MCU before it was cool, and it would be an understatement to say I was "disappointed" when Moffat and Chibnall didn't follow along with it. I'm so glad RTD is finally returning. I hope he brings back the expanded world of spin-offs and crossovers.
''Your always wearing the same clothes'' oh donna, u legend!! :D
I love how when they talk about torchwood their theme plays
Yea Rose, I'm sure the hair is the only thing you're thinking about. Also, the bad wolf music constantly kills me. my fav doctor who song
"Some *really* great hair" :o)
probably my favorite episode ever
thanks for uploading. love Rose and Donna !
I KNOW. I love how Rose is so badass here, and you can tell that the Doctor has had such a big influence on her, and has helped her come into her own, and you can hear her reflecting on that by saying "I'm sorry. So sorry."
Goosebumps like crazy!
Ianto died twice for the world 🥺 what a king
Donna = best companion
1:37
It's nice to see that, even with the fate of the entire universe at stake, the time can still be taken to appreciate the Doctor's really great hair.
Rose Tyler: A girl after my own heart.
Love the music here
Love it!! First bad wolf then the darkness then the silence. This show does build up great reveals.
Love everytime Torchwood is mentioned, Their theme song plays.
Thankfully in the restored timeline all in Torchwood . . . oh, nevermind. :P
Gawd I miss these two SO much! Rose & Donna were the best.
"I'm tired. I'm so tired." That makes me sad. Well...the whole scene does.
Donna is nice woman. Rose is special One. Love both of them.
"i'm nothing special...".......
*starts singing ABBA, Thank you for the music*
Donna: The blonde hair my work on the men. But you ain't shifting me lady.
Me: YASSS
I love both Rose and Donna I think both are wonderful :)
Rose got it right. The doctor has incredible hair. Really beautiful tousled hair.
At 0:50 or so, you can hear the Torchwood theme for a moment.
OMG OH YEAH GOOD EAR
Donna, you are important!! You might dont see that but you are the one that saved the world!! I wish she can be brought back to the show.
When the most fantastic Ginger in the world shows us what she is
The Doctor alters history every episode, but one woman turns left and this shit happens
By far the best scene in the whole series.
F*cking LOVE this episode. Deep is not ever enough.
Rose and Donna will always be my favourites
And then
My feels have been broken even more
"GREAT hair. Some REALLY GREAT hair." Oh Rose. :)
I still can't find THIS version of The Doctor's theme. Also lol @ the Torchwood theme for that brief second when Rose mentions them.
djshefu the theme is called turn left I’m sure of it.
How great was Dr. Who??? the trainwreck today could _never_ hold a candle to it , no matter how many 'member berries.....
The most important woman in whole creation
-Bad Wolf
i would just like to comment on how much that scene creeped me out
Need to see the full episode badly
The release of the Dimension Canon audios really do wonders to explain why Rose is so different in this episode. Not only has she spent years trying to get back to the Doctor, but she's also been hopping through multiple doomed universes, seeing parallels versions of both herself and her loved ones die over and over again, and constantly being let down. They're pretty bleak.
2:50 where was this during the Star Beast? sure has gone to her head.
great episode
That last bit at the end Rose sounded more like Ten especially the "Sorry so sorry" bit.
Ooo! Remember when doctor who was actually good??
Josh Nesbitt Its still good
Josh Nesbitt this was such a beautiful and real scene, a great character moment. I love Donnas ‘I’m so tired’ line because this version has just faced hell after hell and you can see on her face she’s just absolutely exhausted with life, brilliant dialogue and brilliant acting. Such real characters. Nothing in moffats doctor who has come close to this scene it’s embarrassing, he’s too obsessed with sticking as many one liners in his episodes as possible and solving episodes with nonsensical timely wimey ‘everybody comes back to life’ endings.
shafi islam it was up to Series 10. Series 11 was an abomination imo.
I hope the next cast and writers are good
I agree its lost its edge 😡
This made me cry :')
Pretty Billie
This episode ("Turn Left") takes places in an alternate universe where Donna never met the Doctor, and as a result the Doctor died in the events of "Partners in Crime". Therefore, he wasn't around for any of the subsequent episodes, and so Sarah Jane and co, Martha, and Torchwood all had to do the things the Doctor was meant to do, and died doing them.
"great hair... some really great hair!!"
Ah, my two favorite Millenium Doctor Who companions in one episode.
Ianto. Ugh, the feels.
It's called "Turn Left" on the Series Four soundtrack
How was this 13 years ago!
0:48 Hehe Rose talks about Torchwood and the music from Torchwood plays.
