Iqunix is definitely getting better with every iteration, I'm just hoping they swap out those terrible stabs soon and then I'll consider buying some of their boards.
@@SeraphimKnight I mean for IQUNIX keyboards. I use many keycaps for different keyboards so I, of course, prefer cherry style stabs but IQUNIX boards have already good keycaps for their cases.
@@3ildcat Not quite, they have their foam, 2 layers, but on F97 now where I've seen teardown they have some rubber-like mini-gaskets (don't know hot to describe it) but it is to make the board ping less, a silent upgrade, I think there are several silent upgrades since you did a teardown of the F96 board ;)
I like the keycaps most here Haha I am okay with the costar stabs (cuz I won't replace the keycaps, less rattling, easy to tune) but I understand why people don't like lol
Lol needs a ferrite, the little black bead on the USB cable says it failed its radiated emissions testing without it. In other words, the keyboard iselectrically noisy without it, probably between 30 MHz to 1 GHz.Maybe I'll buy it and test it out to see. Not a big deal but points to an inherent noise design problem.
Love your videos, but how do you type without a wrist rest? Don't your wrists hurt after some time at that angle? I always use a wrist rest for my keyboards!
I never comment on videos when I'm researching products, but I gotta say, that was really well put together and relaxing. Gave it a like too. Thanks for the video. I know 2.4ghz is supposed to be low latency, but do you know the actual latency in ms and polling rate compared to wired? For example the Akko 3098b lies about 1ms/1000hz for 2.4ghz when it's actually substantially worse. Also, does the hot swap support just 3 pin, 5 pin, or both? Thank you.
Hi :3ildcat! Love the video. You should try modding this really cheap budget pre built keeb, it's named Redragon K617 Fizz, it is just sooo good for its price!
My F97 seems to rattle more on the space bar, and that costar stabs gives me palpitations. Any suggestion how to make it less rattly and hollow? Lots of pinging sound with the Brown Cherry too. So thinking of changing them to Glorious Panda (factory lubed).
ua-cam.com/video/_w1J1iI3Pyc/v-deo.html You can refer to this video for the costar stabs. To remove hollowness, you can fill the inside of keycaps. For the pingy Cherry switches, you need to lube the springs. Or any lubed switches.
@@3ildcat Can it also be because of the keycaps, that these are KDA profile that the spacebar sounds different. F96 had OEM profile keycaps, which means a bit higher keycaps and maybe those would absorb more of the chock/sound and create another sound profile? Just speculating XD Because previously I also hade F96 Coral Sea but now have F97 Hitchhiker, while rest of the board sounds better the spacebar sounds more and less good but don't know exaclty why it sounds less good....
@@3ildcat Ah yes I have been watching lots f your videos and saw that this is what you do. Mine are stick Cherry Brown. I am new to this so not keen to lube switches just yet. I might change them to Glorious Panda. This is IQUINIX so the costar stabiliser is very hard to deal with for me. Thanks so much for your videos and your response!
@@lizzyb258 Yep I did. I changed the switches to PRELUBED GLORIOUS PANDA and changed all the keycaps to an MT3 set. This has literally tripled if not quadrupled the cost of my IQUINIX. BUT, this was my first entry to the mechanical keyboard world so I was way in over my head and I did not know any better. I still don't know what I am doing but we all have to start somewhere. Is it normal for a spacebar to have a little back and forth movement? For example if you take your finger on the spacebar and move it towards the Z row and back towards you the spacebar can move a little? Bought a iQunix F97 and am not sure if this is normal for a higher price keyboard or it it is unavoidable.
That intro was looking fresh Costar 😖 Those Win key and Ctrol Lock sure take some time ahah Can we switch the Fn keys so their action (volume and stuff) is a single layer press and F1-12 is behind Fn+key ?

As I don't replace the keycaps of these keyboards, the stabs are totally fine. Will you replace them?
@:3ildcat I have a ton of sets that I like to rotate out... especially GMK since the space bar gets shiny so easy 😭

i was impressed until the keycaps were taken off to reveal costar... just why
looks and sounds amazing , wish they would make a tkl board like this
I have this board, absolutely beautiful
iQunix always really listening to us which is great! I kinda wanna try one of their boards sometime :)
I mean that better sound mainly comes down to the switches. Still a better overall keyboard outside of that though. Great video!

Whoa. Not bad at stock. Not bad at all. Well except for the space bar but seriously still good.
Seeing this video reminded me - you ever changed the switches on your m80 (the cat one with special Kailh switches)?
Not yet. We know dealing with the non-standard switches and desoldering would be .... but I will some day!
how are you liking the KDA profile keycaps? You prefer these to OEM or Cherry profile keycaps?
The design is cute and good to type on.
I still prefer Cherry profile most but I prefer these to OEM.

I just got used to it. I don't like using a wrist rest. If I have to type all day, I would have used :3
Just to clarify, these are ttc gold pink switches, right?
Are you going to do a Ducky One 3 mini or SF mod? :3
No plan yet :3

for the moment whats your favorite keychron keyboard and what of them u recommend?
I just prefer 65% keyboards so Q2 maybe? What layout do you prefer? You can pick as what you preferred.
Best stock keyboard recommend? Pretty lazy but i still can do some
Mod tho, a tkl or smaller should be fine for me
There's no 'best' for everyone. You need to find what you prefer most. Good luck!
@@3ildcat well can u atleast give me some keyboard that u would recommend for me to start? Tks

will they ever remove the costar stabs 😭😭
the cosmic traveller f97 (the blue and white colour) has cherry stabs
