Looking at doing a DCT swap with LS engine on my Datsun. This has been helpful. Looking at using Domi adapter so you just purchased the board from Domi and soldered the wire to the new PCB? Did you unsolder all the old wires then just soldered to new board then connect the power and the grounds to the solenoids? Does that bundle of white wires have a minor color to tell them apart? This has been the most confusing part and most intimidating part of attempting the swap. Expensive if it doesn’t work.
Absolutely the most intimidating part. Domi works sends instructions that are super helpful. The wires are so tiny in the factory pcm you just pull them then solder the new wired on. No color difference in the white wires, you just verify the pin your trimming before snipping.
@@FirstLast-tx3yj what do you mean flashing? So with the setup i was using, its with HTG a totally seperate trans controller and you remove the factory tcm.
@@Thenameskam ahh yh i know htg. After wiring the box and installing the software on the laptop do u start from 0 or is there a base tune. Because i do not know how to tune the gcu from 0
@@FirstLast-tx3yj it's basically zero. It's also the reason I parted all the HTG stuff out and went to maxxecu instead. Not as much config and tuning needed. I'll be putting together a video soon of the why's and how's.
DCT definitely makes sense but the lack of a clutch pedal is what holds me back from liking it. I just like having a clutch pedal for more manual control. I think there's a way to wire an electronic clutch pedal in but I don't think there's a kit for that yet. I guess I just want a streetable sequential lol
They do have a clutch pedal option, but i don't believe it can be used like a conventional clutch where you slip it to move in first gear. I think it's only for clutch dumps for drifting etc.
@@Thenameskam There's an e36 with DBW clutch set up that is slipped during take off. Built by @michiel.e36 on Instagram ua-cam.com/video/BEfyVlfGmSo/v-deo.html
@@Thenameskam I cannot wait to see that! I am currently in the very beginning stages of my own swap for a m52b28 into my e30. Then once that is driving I will be installing a lq9 into my e36. My e30 was a 318i from '84... 110hp... so the m52 will be a massive upgrade.
I'm so grateful that I came across your channel. Excellent content
Keep up with the DCT content!
Use a heat gun on the board to reflow / solder the resistor. Just heat the area up and it should settle and fuse.
Thanks for the tip! Definitely try that if there is a next time lol
Great info, thank you!

If my SMG ever goes i wanna mate one to my S54
As time goes on, it'll become more and more popular for sure.
Do you know which port is the pressure out for the oil cooler lines? Can’t seem to find that info. Have all the parts ordered for my set up.
Yeah I do, Lower is out. Upper is return.

@@Thenameskam I've heard the new PDK can clutch kick if you just hold down the two paddles or something
Very nice vid
You so smart 😍
Does this still need ECU to be controlled ?
Maxxecu controls both the engine and the trans.
What year of dct trans is the best
Difference is gear ratios. Depends on application
