    Blackrock is my all time favorite place to ride. I'm too old and brittle for Granny's Kitchen, but Sickter Gnar and Banzai all day long. Just the most excellent dirt and fabulous trail build crew.
    Glad your friend walked away from that one. I don't ride there without full-face helmet.

      Yeah even through the video, the quality of that dirt comes through. It's like ground up hooker and angel wings. Perfect.

    The section of trail where the crash happened I know very well. It's a step-down over a prominent stump. In the year that it was built there were five people hitting that double. The step over after it is floaty. And then it gets better. The trail didn't last after Montana moved on.

    I feel ya man. been at it hard for a little over a year. I'm addicted to mtb can't stop riding can't stop thinking about it. I don't care how fast I make it down a trail. just as long as it was faster than the last time I rode it.

    I always knew GoPro's take away the trail gnar, but I've seen the drop @1:50 and it looks WAY BIGGER in person. I was surprised to see your buddy fall, I figured ya'll have perfected the art of levitation & balance by now. Legit riding guys, hope your friend is feeling alright!

      I lived in SD for 13 years, and now I live in Eugene....I ride BR a ton...there is next to nothing for freeride in California south of South Bay...not withstanding some park stuff....nothing freeride beyond 10 percent of the quantity I mean. But lots of dirt jumper stuff...but more in the LA OC area

    Was all of that done on the Hightower? I ride here fairly often and I am debating whether or not to sell my dh and trail bike and get a "do it all" enduro style bike or keep both my dh and trail bike. Did the Hightower do it all well or do you wish you had more travel?

    • @rexb42

      PS You guys made that stuff look way too easy!

    • @Bjoggi308

    • @SuperMarkass1
      @SuperMarkass1 7 років тому +1

      no need for a DH bike at black rock, everything is built super smooth, 6" trail/enduro bike will do great

    • @TrailPeek
      @TrailPeek  7 років тому +1

      Hit almost all of the biggest features on the Hightower. I would like to go back and tame Dino's.
      I definitely think anything more than 6" is overkill for black rock. It's gonna be fun as hell on any bike. With a shorter travel bike you're going to be able to do more laps faster though

  • @joshsaunders7916
    @joshsaunders7916 7 років тому +1

    Wow, one of the coolest trails. Sick rippin. My goal as a mountain biker is to get good enough one day to go down that sort of trail without a hiccup. Maybe not as fast as some or with as much style, but just to survive the big drops and jumps haha. This video makes me want to go practice riding right now (which is what I'll be doing as soon as I get off work) haha.

    • @TrailPeek
