Protect Railway Wildlife Corridors

National Highways refuses to acknowledge the impact of its bridge infilling and demolition schemes on the dismantled railways reclaimed by nature as wildlife corridors. This video shows some of the animals that use one of the at-risk structures and could soon be displaced.
To inform asset management decision-making, the Government has been asked to commission an independent expert body to undertake studies of the 75 routes affected by National Highways' current Major Works programme.
