C'mon people! This is very good, we are in 2016 the band has been playing its music for 10 years! We should be thankful that the band is still playing their music
Phil Bozeman is still a Godly vocalist, and Whitechapel is still special. It is not a bad thing for a band to try new techniques and sounds.
I'm all in for trying new things and such, and Whitechapel has been one of my favorite bands for a long time now, but this does sound generic and uninspired.

I've been a fan since the first album yet still dig this track. I don't get why there's always so many haters when bands change their sound. They're artists, of course their sound will change. You don't see famous painters painting nothing but the same picture over and over again. As an artist your interests change and you want to try new things.
I wouldn't really define this sound as new. Maybe it's a new approach for the band (which I found WAY more unique when they played their deathcore stuff), but come on dude we've heard that shit hundreds of times before, it's generic as fuck, nothing new here.
Chris Homicidal I understand your opinion, but I never said it's a new sound when it comes to metal in general. Yes this sort of sound has been used many times by other bands, but so have the sounds from all their other albums. By new I meant it's new for them. I agree their sound definitely isn't as good, and is a little bland, but it still has some character. That's just my opinion though. We should also put into consideration that these tracks are basically just album teasers. For all we know the two tracks they've released could be the worst two on the whole thing. We'll just have to wait and see.

I agree. But it seems like they're falling flat. Lyrics are becoming really plain, the same overused mid screams. I'm trying to stay open minded but it's getting boring. I hate to say it :/

I don't think they've lost any uniqueness. Not generic. Just matured. Their early stuff just embodied their hectic youth. Now that they've matured a bit it may seem a bit too structured for some but its still very much Whitechapel. I'm liking this so far.

Opinions are opinions, but this is barely generic (getting a good Self-titled vibe from this song); there are so many better examples of generic music, and this isn't one of them. Maybe what people think is that it is generic by Whitechapel standards. I kind of agree with them. Whitechapel has written far better material. Lyrics are cringe, instrumentals are a bit unsinspired and Phil doesn't use his vocal to his full potential. Not to sound all negative about this song, it actually has some moments, for example I'm really digging the ending of the song, when it slows down and while speeding up it goes into djenty riff.

As Whitechapel moves away from Death, through Deathcore, and now closer to Metalcore I am liking them more and more. Take away the topical themes and this band has a knack for making very listenable music. they are true artists.

Okay people, past is past. This might not sound even close to their older stuff, but does it have to? They sound a little generic, yes, but they have their signature strongly attached to their music, for example Phil's sick and unique vocals and such. Let us not forget that this is still Whitechapel, new album = sounds different.

bloozism Every album has its ups and downs. These 2 songs might not be their strongest and best ones, but I believe there is way more in that album than this little repetive, slightly boring stuff. But you can't say by only listening to 2 of their previous songs, and say they are getting worse, can you? Hell no. Just wait and see, then complain.

Not bad, the ending made up for the slow build up tbh, but I'm eager to hear the new album! Obviously it won't be like the oldschool Whitechapel as they have been experimenting and changing their sound for years now, I do miss their old brutal shit but the new stuff is just as good, if not better for live shows because of the pure energy.

don't forget the extreme vocals Phil used to do back in the day. As much as I love his old gutturals and highs, I can understand why he doesn't do them as much now because of the strain, especially if they play live constantly.

Really not sure how I feel about the lyrics at this point, but I'm glad they're advancing their sound towards this direction.
Already have the album, its amazing. Every song is incredible and could be a single. My personal favourites are "Decennium" cause I am in love with these cleans :D, "A Killing Industry" cause its just fucking sick \m/ and "Elitist Ones". But like I said every song is amazing! Even "Brotherhood", a song without vocals, just instrumental is great :D
