He's forgotten more about whiskey than I've ever even known
My favorite distillery. I love the story and the spirit of the place. I love listening to Jim McEwan essentially speak the gospel of whisky. The first time my wife and I ever went to Bruichladdich, we were welcomed like family and it left a mark on us. We will always return - maybe not every year, but we'd be hard pressed to let more than a couple years go by before we see Mary and the Laddies again. Great place. Amazing whisky. Even better people.

Bruichladdich Distillery has been sold to Remy Cointreau in 2013.
Jim McEwan went into retirement shortly after.
Marc Reynier has founded Waterford distillery in Ireland 2016.
Just opened your 2009 Islay Barley and it is fantastic! Well done Bruichladdich!

Why they add water?
Proofing it down. Not too clear if it’s a rule for the production/Recipe, but a lot of the times whiskeys taste will have a sweet spot in a certain proof/Abv so they will add water till the taste is best expressed
